- Curtis brought his mad experiment: a vintage Ford “executive” coupe with a bi-turbo, 3 liter diesel engine! He basically just shoved the guts of his 335d into an old “shoebox” he had in his yard, slapped on some overfenders, and voila! Vintage vehicle with modern creature comforts like a radio and AIR CONDITIONING. And it does burnouts! Though they’re more like smokeouts.

I'm fully convinced the best way to "resto-mod" an old car is just drop the body on something new with similar dimensions, been seeing this more and more and it's always sick!
Yep, people have been dropping old truck bodies on S-10s and Dodge Dakotas for many years. You can't beat it if you're going to daily drive it.
It is. Mostly with pic up trucks my friend wants to get a Ford raptor and stick an old for panel body on top of the chassis the panel body is bigger r
I’ve got a 52 plymouth cranbrook (very similar to this body shape) that is the exact wheelbase & dimensions as a 2014ish caprice PPV (6.0ls). Currently finishing up my 2000 sqft shop behind my house then I’m going to try finding the caprice, then body swap city!!
only if its super custom like this or the body is exactly the same as the og. ive seen people with vettes mustangs chargers and comaros try this and they always look off sometimes to short or bulky

This body style was the favorite of my uncle Dee. He pasted away several years ago but I will say that he was a very old school hot-rodder from the 50's-60's and he would love this car!

I imported an M57 from the UK and swapped it into my 1989 Wrangler. I would recommend this diesel swap to anyone that wants something a bit more than a TDI.
I imported an m57 block and crank from the uk and swapped in all the good parts from my blown up north american 335d motor. I'de love to see someone put one in a 80 series land cruiser
This is the motivation I need to start my 335D project
I've got a 335d with a LSD that loves sliding and doing burnouts, I'm gonna have to come get redemption for the diesel BMWs now 😂

That thing is pretty ridiculous. Well done Sir! My parents neighbor, now deceased, had a pretty amazing '49 Ford. It had a mostly stock motor with some casual upgrades. But it had a rust primer paint job by Sam Foose himself, and a hand painted, high school aged original Von Dutch on the metal dash depicting a very surprised donkey and it's owner next to a camp fire reacting to a nuclear explosion in the distance. One of his sons has it now. No idea where.

M57 swaps are cool anyway but basically dropping a 70 year old body onto a full BMW platform is amazing.
The m57 will forever remain goated. I’ve had 3 now, and miss them like crazy.

Can easily get 500 hp but the weak link is the transmission if its original. I tuned mine to 400 hp 600ft/lbs and average 35 mpg, its the perfect balance :)
@@LighthouseBaptistChurchAlmere u sure a company in the states called santjer performance has pushed a 2011 335d to 850+rwhp and kept stock trans with just a tune on the trans reliably
@@anthonymachacek3413 ,hey that’s good to hear! I have hybrid turbos, may try for some more. The transmission on the 2011 may be stronger. Mine is a 2008. I will check it out.
