Hey all! I'm John's (the builder) father-in-law. So proud of him, seemingly there is nothing he can't accomplish. Never mentioned, but this build is while John actually runs 3 businesses within his real estate company. Also, this car is the latest in a line of approximately 11 cars he has built. Our john is the best!

You're killing me Sean! I tried to catch these guys when I took my Son out to UTI's Volvo program in Avalon Az. They were busy getting it ready for SEMA, so couldn't do it. Then, three months later when I picked him up, they were at Holley Fuel Fest the Saturday we left, and I didn't even know about it until I got home. I was seriously bummed. I followed the build from I guess about a year into it. This is the true definition of "Build what moves you". Obviously not everybody's cup of tea, but I thought it was just Killer!

A great testament to the tool and die makers 74 to 88years ago, when just 40 years before the 49 was styled and created, the guys were still making horse saddles, mule collars, and wagon wheels. Damn guy- you built a monster. I want one!! Well, dang it , I need a retro moded '37 Ford first. THANKS FOR THE ATE UP RIDE ALONG.! YOU BUILT IT THE WAY YOU WANT IT NOT FOR SOMEONE ELSE.!! GREAT JOB. This thing is totally rad. It's not a rat rod because it's nicer looking, but it's not a smooth and sanded out car. You can see the welds, and the builder is not worried about making it pretty. You can see the scuffed metal on the body. I don't mean that as a slight in any way. That gives this car character and makes it a beast of it's own. Awesome that this guy did this in his spare time and wasn't afraid to play outside of the box. I would drive this on the daily if I owned it.

Best car I ever owned was a BMW. A 2002 BMW 750il that was a beast. It never broke down, MARINE Corps maroon with eagle globe and anchor Florida tag. Marine sticker in the back window. From zero to 100 in 5 seconds flat. Road a drove like it was on rails. That is when those cars were the best of the best. Put 100k miles on it and never once broke down. Today they are trying to get way to much power out of really small motors. I want to see that done and down right brother. Neal APOLLO BEACH FLORIDA SEMPER FI OHHHHHH RAAAAAA

I just built back to stock 1969 AMC AMX 390 XCODE GO PACK group 19 parts, original answer slotline all aluminum mags from group 19, teage wing, Every available option, found a NOS case or r12 FREON that now blows ice could. All numbers match, air shocks in rear, disk breaks in front. Back to hunter green original color. 1970 hood and front medal to keep it cool In FLORIDA heat. Put 1970 fiberglass hood , fenders, bumpers, which is longer the 1969. Painted hood, fender tops, to strip around the windows in MATTE WHITE , plus white AMC Sticker on the back fender. It keeps my car 15 degrees cooler in Florida. Air flow blows also. I like how you think outside of the box. We both did something special. Great job. Semper Fi, Neal APOLLO beach Florida

Dude, I was blown away by this car and video. The passion you both had in this video is inspiring, and is why I believe that 90% of the car culture is the best out there, when you can sit and talk about something that is honest just a car or truck but out of that you can make life long friends and Share that passion and love for something, and can create life long memories. What a blessing, much love, and respect 🙏. God bless you all, and keep up the great work and content 👍. Keep dreaming people because beautiful memories are there for the taking.

@ManiacsGarage brother, what you guys have created with this car is going to have lifelong memories and bring so many people joy. In my mind, that's the name of the game. I know it's just a car, and that is what makes it so spectacular is how just a car can do all that and can bring people closer to one another. I believe that God himself can work through this machine to heal and help people connect, and for me, that is truly a gift that will not stop giving. I will subscribe to your channel right now, God bless you and all the lives you touch. TGBTG.

Story about why a 1949 Ford coupe is the reason for me being alive:
My dad was born in Pittsfield Massachusetts to very poor parents. He was one of the middle kids of 5 kids.
While my dad’s dad was deployed in the Pacific theatre during WW2, one of my dad’s older brothers Paul died as a toddler due to the New England winter without having proper heating or nutrition in their family. My dad’s dad (who I never got to meet) ended up getting a hardship discharge from the Army as a result of his son’s death, and he was able to come home, but he ultimately lost his only form of income upon discharge.
My dad was born a couple years later in 1947. He was also a sick kid, and had health troubles in his earliest years. When he was in early elementary school, he was very sick, and was ultimately held back a year for missing too many days of school. The family doctor told my dad’s parents that my dad likely would not survive through another winter.
Having already lost one young son, and not wanting to lose another, my dad’s parents decided to pack up everything that they owned, 4 kids, 2 dogs, and a cat into their 1949 Ford coupe and moved the family from Pittsfield Massachusetts to West Palm Beach Florida to move to a warm climate to prevent my dad from potentially not surviving up north.
They didn’t know anybody there, and had no job prospects. They chose West Palm Beach because the name sounded nice. My dad’s mom got a job as a cashier at a grocery store, and my dad’s dad eventually distributed eggs from farmers to local restaurants. They remained poor, and my dad grew up as a self-proclaimed “beach bum”.
My dad is now 75 years old, and is now the oldest man that has ever lived in his entire family history.
If I ever end up building a pre-60’s hotrod, it has to be a ‘49 Ford.
