INSANE Exhaust Upgrade! Modifying my Audi R8 ** rev 9 madness**

- It's well known that the Audi R8 V8 is just TOO quiet as standard and so not one to do things by half measures I ordered and installed a Rev 9 Stainless Steel straight pipe system.
The small chambers you see on the exhaust are actually not silencers but cells packed with glass fibre to try to eliminate drone on partial throttle. On full throttle they do nothing!
Thank you to Rev 9 for this INSANE system and thank you to my friends for helping get it fitted!

I did a track experience recently where I drove the R8 V8 and a Gallardo.. I have to say the R8 felt so much nicer and sharper to me. Fell in love with that car!
Interesting to hear! Thanks for commenting. I think the R8’s may actually drive a little better than Gallardos, honestly not a huge surprise given it’s the later car.
I have that same exact car and I just recently installed that same exhaust, oh what a difference it makes! Especially in the 4-6k rpm range that motor comes alive! Very nice car, great video too!

Very welcome! I chose the rev 9 as the quality and sound are as good as any other for quite a bit less cost! I’ve since sold this r8 and still have the exhaust if you’d like to buy it and skip the postage?

Hi , which model Rev9 did you get ? Resonated or non resonated 🗽
It's the one with the glass fibre filled boxes so I guess you'd call it resonated I think!
1) Did you need any additional new gaskets or use any gasket goo at the pipe joints with the Rev9 kit? Or did it come with everything you needed for the install? 2) how does the single 2.75 inch pipe meet the stock quad exhaust tips at the back of the rear bumper? 3) roughly how much was it to ship from the US to the U.K.& were there any additional taxes etc? Sorry for all the questions but after seeing your vid I’m now seriously considering one of these! 🙌
Hi Russel, no gaskets or anything like that due to the system using the v band clamps. If you wanted to be extra careful you could order some spare v bands but mine were re-usable. 2) the rev9 sits neatly behind the inner 2 exhausts. 3) it was around £1,000 all in. You’ll need to pay import duty to the courier but if you speak to the guys at Rev 9 they are very helpful with this. It’s a great exhaust so I’d say go for it!

That’s not straight pipe, it’s got boxes lol. Iv got a actual straight through X pipe on my r8 v10 which sounds unreal.
Well noticed Lee! They are perforated glass fibre chambers that are meant to reduce drone at steady throttle but nail it and they're doing nothing. I bet that V10 sounds amazing!
