Grains are large inside the earth's crust because of slow cooling rate and above the earth's crust cooling rate is faster due to wind and water vapours hence results in a fine grain structure. This is a core concept of all cooling and solidification process. Mechanical engineering students might understand it easily. 👍

Sir 1 doubt......u said lustre depends upon the crystal's colour......but sir....in the text its written that lustre refers to...."appearance of a material WITHOUT regard to colour"........sir kindly clear this dilemma
