Hello, sorry to bother but I am trying to decide whether or not I should buy this engine kit, or a standard 66cc kit from bikeberry. This is a hard decision for me because the true 80cc doesn't have a cylinder head which isn't as reliable.
Tony Arlt : Hey, thanks for watching! I like this motor for the torque and low end power. If you pair this motor with an MZ pipe, you'll really fly! The standard 80cc engines are cool because they are modifiable such as a high compression heads. To be honest, the more modified your engine is, the more attention and tuning you will have to do to it on a regular basis. So with the yd100, you get the low end power and a decent top speed, which helps tremendously if you live in a start and stop or hilly area. If you buy one this weekend they are $149 for the entire kit. Either way, have fun!
So I just ordered the complete kit, but it's going on a minibike so I need a pullstart. Do you think that the pullstart for the Zeda 80 will fit? Like are the magneto covers the same size?
Thanks for watching! Yes, it will fit, but don't get the crappy pull start that will break after 2-4 times. Get the pull start that has the thicker spring loaded arms. These are typically found with two decorative line grooves molded onto the face plate. Hope this helps!
I gota reccomend a metal gasket for the intake I beleive you can get an oxygen sensor gasket off of an 00 or 02 Toyota 4 runner or highlander. It fits it I will try and look it up to be sure which one and come back and comment
Just curious, why did you reuse the motor mount studs? Seems like a couple of bolts would have been a cleaner installation... As most motors have a removable head they require a head gasket. The manufacturers probably didn't know what to do with the extra head gasket, as there was no place for it.. so they put an extra base gasket between the cylinder and the crank case so you'd at least have the right AMOUNT of gaskets. Heh, heh, heh...
Im guessing paired with a 31-32t rear sprocket on a 26" bike 45mph shouldn't be out of the question. I hit over 40 with no mods on pk80s (66cc obviously) running a 31t and a higher flow exhaust.
I believe so. The kits will be coming with a 44t. There is so much torque and low end power that you could drop down to the 30’s, and benefit in both low and top end. Put an MZ pipe on it and you'll see huge benefits too.
I've hit 41mph on a Gt80, porting does alot of the work, and I'm on a 36t, stock carb and exhaust and it's rebuilt with 7,500 with just new lightweight piston. Still going strong! Keep it up Team 2T!
Can anyone please tell me where i can buy new set of piston rings. I have the new yd100cf took apart to make sure piston was ok and putting back together The rings broke.please help anyone.
Kool video. I'm running a windowed piston with matching cylinder head from CDHpower/eBay, along with CDHpower bottom end from Amazon. With the reed valve and high speed carb and a expansion chamber my yd100 engine is a beast. These engines aren't that complicated to build.
How will that extra head gasket mess up the timing. I can see how it will have lower compression by a very small amount since now the combustion chamber at TDC will be increased by a small amount. There are obviously no valves with 2 strokes, and ignition timing will remain unaffected since the points and coil are timed off crankshaft
Benjamin Thompson : Thanks for being a part of the community! Your input is greatly appreciated. So even though 1-2mm doesn't seem like much, an extra gasket can raise the jug 1-2mm and completely alter the intake and exhaust timing. Yes, this bike does not have valves, but if you consider the intake port and the exhaust ports are like valves, then the picture becomes clearer. On the standard 2 stroke jug, there is room for error between the heights of the exhaust and intake ports. That is why people port them out to get more power. On these engines, they are more precise on the timing heights of the intake and exhaust, which if altered, will mess up your timing. That means when your magneto is on the fire position and your piston is not at the right place, you'll have jitters and misfire. Also, with an extra gasket, you lessen the compression area during the fire stage of the rotation = less power/torque. There are a lot more specific numbers you can check out, but his was just a quick explanation. I hope it helps answer your question. Thanks again for watching!
It will run. It will have no noticeable difference. But after time when the rings loosen up a bit and shrink, the tip of the ring opening may hit the exhaust port opening and bust a ring and then destroy the engine. It's a risk not a guarantee.
Thank you. I took the cylinder off to have a look just in case The piston was on the right way but I’m glad now I don’t have to worry about it. Cheers!
Yes, it can BUT the carb jet is slightly larger with he carb that comes with the yd100 kit. The jet in the yd100 is usually a 76 and the one that comes in the 80 is usually a 70. So it will work, but you'd probably have to adjust the c-clip on the needle to make it run smoother.
@@SouthernCustomCC thanks for your help mate love you videos here in england, keep them coming , I got fat belly pipe for my YD 100 do you think eney good , thanks
I got a used one that they never got to start for some reason it kicks right over and I'm breaking mine in now. What has oil ratio do you use for your brake in ?
Good deal! 16:1 for about 75 miles. Keep it @ around 20. Then you can go 20:1, 32:1, or even richer if you want but I like oil...it gives good lubrication when the engine gets hot.
Looks like the bottom end and connecting rod are the same and they just produced a larger top end for the same bottom components. Not being able to get the head off sucks because you cant get into the right angle to remove that ledge in the tops of the transfers.
Thanks for watching. Well…the dio reed setup is definitely a good set up. You’d get some more low end, better band results, and it looks sweet too! You’d still want to buy an exhaust upgrade for the dio setup otherwise you miss out on some of the benefits of what you paid for. The yd is a bit choppy, but with the exhaust, it calms it down a bit and you have good low end torque out of the box. Really, the choice is yours, just make sure you spend time to set your kit up properly. Happy building
Hey, thanks for tuning in! Head torque is debatable--depending on gasket size--but 12-14 ft/lbs will work. And I am not sure what other two nuts you are referring to at he moment..the exhaust? The intake?
I didn't buy a new CDI but I bought a new NGK cap to on my CDI it just screws in both sides Screw in when you get them take a quarter of an inch off then screw them back in
How did you compress the piston rings to get the piston back in the cylinder? My engine came with the cylinder head off and I ended up breaking the top ring trying to get the damn piston in. I have a new one ordered but there has the be a trick to compressing them all the way around to install the piston in the head.
I just run my fingers around the rings starting at the exhaust side till i get to the sides of the piston and i set the exhaust side of the piston in the cylinder and use the other hands nails to seat the rings on the opposite side
I like the anbull 100cc yous should check em out their good engines I definitely would like to see a reed valve and expansion Chamber on a anbull 100.im a lighter guy and all stock I hit 43 top rip with a 44 tooth sprocket .I don't change out the sprockets cuz I like the high torque of the 44 and up ones.i might put a 36 and a 32 tooth on just to see how fast I can get this "100"cc engine to go
Thanks for watching. Not yet, but I assume one will be coming out in the future because the popularity of this engine has exploded lately. If they do this, there will be a height clearance issue though. It wouldn't be able to fit in most setups because of the larger sized CNC heads.
The white wire is auxiliary. There to power a low level 3-6v light. But if it is used, it will drain power from the engine. It is better to use a battery powered light.

I hit 52mph
46 mph via GPS on 22:1
50mm piston?
Can anyone please tell me where i can buy new set of piston rings. I have the new yd100cf took apart to make sure piston was ok and putting back together
The rings broke.please help anyone.
David foss, cdh or zeda should have them cdh does just went on there site 😁
@@davids_garage what is cdh?
Oh yeah what’s the bearing size in the yd100
Double gasket most likely gave the cylinder more clearance for the issue you first pointed out with piston at top dead center...
how does the 2 cylnder spark plug work where can i find a head for two sparks
IGot one of those hundred cc engine and when I fitted it it turns the wheel in the wrong way
They have rubber motor mounts but a lot of people were complaining about them 30 bucks
Wow thank you! Makes complete sense now!
I can't listen to this video. Need lapel microphone.
U should show how to put it back together because I just ruined my new piston trying to put it back on
Sorry to hear that, man. I made this just for you. A little late for you, but I hope it helps for the future!
th-cam.com/video/YoAktFChW1k/w-d-xo.html
aren't lock washers a good idea?
Maybe the two gaskets are to keep the piston from touching the head that happened to me one gasket is not enough
Speed carb also has a different sized emulsion tube/needle
If the piston is in backwards will it still run properly?
It will run. It will have no noticeable difference. But after time when the rings loosen up a bit and shrink, the tip of the ring opening may hit the exhaust port opening and bust a ring and then destroy the engine. It's a risk not a guarantee.
Thank you. I took the cylinder off to have a look just in case The piston was on the right way but I’m glad now I don’t have to worry about it. Cheers!
The mount will fit perfect the back pole under the seat
Can 80cc carburetor go on yd 100cc iv just got
Yes, it can BUT the carb jet is slightly larger with he carb that comes with the yd100 kit. The jet in the yd100 is usually a 76 and the one that comes in the 80 is usually a 70. So it will work, but you'd probably have to adjust the c-clip on the needle to make it run smoother.
@@SouthernCustomCC thanks for your help mate love you videos here in england, keep them coming , I got fat belly pipe for my YD 100 do you think eney good , thanks
Do these motors run oil in the crank case or not? If so what weight
They do not, they are 2 strokes so the oil is in the gas
I got a used one that they never got to start for some reason it kicks right over and I'm breaking mine in now. What has oil ratio do you use for your brake in ?
Good deal! 16:1 for about 75 miles. Keep it @ around 20. Then you can go 20:1, 32:1, or even richer if you want but I like oil...it gives good lubrication when the engine gets hot.
Blood grease is the best
From my motor to my carburetor I'm going with a hose so it won't Leak with worm clamps I heard they leak
Yeah I have to check mine too
I'm retired and looking to get one any pointers but I want to get a good setup first
Robert Duncan : Hey!, Thanks for watching. Please feel free to contact me through my website...id be happy to give you my 2 cents!
Looks like the bottom end and connecting rod are the same and they just produced a larger top end for the same bottom components. Not being able to get the head off sucks because you cant get into the right angle to remove that ledge in the tops of the transfers.
Hello I am trying to decide between this with a performance pipe on it or the zeda 80 with the dio reed and the oko carb on it? Any thoughts
The Piston will rub against where the bolts go in for the muffler
What's the torque spec on the 4 studs that hold the head down? Lastly, what is torque spec for the nuts on the top end of head? Thanks in advance!!
Hey, thanks for tuning in! Head torque is debatable--depending on gasket size--but 12-14 ft/lbs will work. And I am not sure what other two nuts you are referring to at he moment..the exhaust? The intake?
плохо что не показываешь как ты отдремелил цилиндр, впускной коллектор. Результат как получилось? А это самое интересное за кадром.
@@joshrichards8889 basically how I do it, but with short nails so theres a struggle
I like the anbull 100cc yous should check em out their good engines I definitely would like to see a reed valve and expansion Chamber on a anbull 100.im a lighter guy and all stock I hit 43 top rip with a 44 tooth sprocket .I don't change out the sprockets cuz I like the high torque of the 44 and up ones.i might put a 36 and a 32 tooth on just to see how fast I can get this "100"cc engine to go
Can we change the head for a racing one?
Thanks for watching. Not yet, but I assume one will be coming out in the future because the popularity of this engine has exploded lately. If they do this, there will be a height clearance issue though. It wouldn't be able to fit in most setups because of the larger sized CNC heads.
Any bolts that you're not going to take out take them off like the pedals and put Loctite on them too much vibration
Why did you delete the white wire?
The white wire is auxiliary. There to power a low level 3-6v light. But if it is used, it will drain power from the engine. It is better to use a battery powered light.
Hi I hope you still read comments on your video I know it's not brand new but I was seeking help and I watch a lot of your videos I have an issue with my bike holding the Rev out too long and there's no issue with my throttle cable being stuck or anything of that nature my snap back on the throttle is really nice and I have an idle down really well but when I give it gas and let off it stays High Rev for a little too long I am not quite sure what to do with this I have a reed valve which probably complicates things a little and a speed carb where's the 72 mmm jet if that helps any idea what to check for cuz I've checked for everything and I don't think I have any air leaks or anything of the nature just not quite sure
Hey, Boss! Thanks for watching. I’d start with the magnet and then the magneto. Let me know how it goes from there
@@SouthernCustomCC
Do you think the Magneto would really make it rev High? I have everything upgraded but my Magneto maybe if I put my upgraded Magneto I have in there instead it would run different are you saying possibly cuz that would be something I could do right now to try and thank you for replying and offering an opinion anything helps
Yeah.... as long as you are confident it is not your throttle cable getting stuck, the slide in the carb is lined up correctly, the idle screw is adjusted correctly, and you are sure that there are no intake or exhaust gasket leaks...then that is where I would go next. Best of luck to you!
@@SouthernCustomCC so I tried I've graded Magneto I think there's something wrong with me and you know did not work or CBI so I replaced everything it starts up again but still has High Rev a little less worse but still really when I give it gas it holds the gas out for way too long like there's something trapped
Hope he says something about it one guy said he bought 3 all came in backwards plenty of videos out there easy to work on and have power im putting one on a bike that has fat tires got that cheap 2 motor was$88 total bike 96 without tax and shipping but those bikes go fo 599 on Amazon i will tell you were when i know mine is here dont want them to sell out it is backwards
I have one it runs great but the piston was backwards
I got a laugh out of, "finger tight" lol. I'm interested to know if the wrist pins are the same as the smaller engines.
Thanks for watching. Yes, the wrist pin is the same. The bearing is 10x14x15.
Great video - thanks for the wisdom !
Where do you recomend purchasing one of these YD100's
I know and trust bicycle-engines.com and they have good prices. Gas bike.net has a reed valve set up with the yd100 but it is like $220 right now. Hope that points you in a good direction! Thanks
Don't go through gasbike. Net if you get one of these motors I bought one I only got one I feel like because I called in and threatened to report them because I have not received a tracking number or anything within 2 weeks and it was supposed to be sent on the 6th of the month and it ended up being sent a day after my brother ordered it the day before the same motor and then you called in and complained and got his hella fast which makes no sense anyways just a warning the motor comes it's all good except they forget a lock washer for the piston comes with one but is missing a second one I luckily had an old motor I took one off of to replace it my brothers came the same way and I ordered a chain tensioner and they did not come through on that in my order it was written on the box but not in the box bikeberry is not bad half the time I find I've gone through Kings Motorsports they seem to be a little better but I think they are the same company as gasbike since they have the same phone numbers I would go with bikeberry and or search outside and if anyone gets any good tips or leads let me know too as well but that's what I found to be true if you want to take the chance on gasbike. Net 8200 cc motorized bike engine kit it was a little over two hundred a lot cheaper than usual compared to the 300 400 dollar kits that you find
Is this the actual zeda 100 motor that is sold on bicycle engines.com?
I bought mine online bicycleengines.com. ZEDA FIRESTORM 100 an recieved in 4 dayS EVERYTHING WAS RIGHT ON .THE PISTON GREAT NOT BACKWARDS PORTS CLEAN JUST BEST FIRST ENGINE EVER TY .HOOE EVERYONE ELSE ENJOYS THERES LIKE I DO .WOOOOO. HHHHOOOO
You can see the pins by just looking inside without taking the Piston out
Does the clamp remove form the carb
The gold ring that uses the screw and nut to tighten the carb in place?
@@SouthernCustomCC thank i was just wanted to no bec i was hopeing the clamp came off so i could put it on a old brushcutter i founded
Buy the bt80 electric start engine kit it’s awesome
Nice thanks for the recommendation bro! I cleaned up the ports on my YD100 a lot, it took me about 3.5 hours to do. But since doing that, it pops off and starts super easily.
How many CC
I think they put the piston in backwards on purpose so you will buy a new motor
Hey I have a similar build of the same motor is just spark plug is positioned on the opposite end but everything else other than that is identical with red and black wire on the kill switch I have a green and black wire with a white line down it would you happen to know which one is positive and which one is negative I've done this for a while but this motor is definitely brand new to me and I'm not quite sure on this one I'm used to the blue and white or yellow and green and this one's just confusing if you happen to have any knowledge on that let me know I think everything should be fairly the same I have upgraded Magneto and everything else with the red and black wires and of course the extra white wire for whatever which I probably not use but if anyone has a suggestion for a better kill switch I've been pulling my choked up and flooding my motor but it feels like that's going to be worse on my spark plug in the end then my Magneto but I'm not sure any tips?
Is it really a full 100cc, or is it like the 89 which is really a 66cc?
Charles Everest: LOL!!! SO TRUE!!! It is no different for this engine either...50mm bore and 40mm stroke...therefore math says it's a 78.5cc 😂...
is the carburetor jet larger to compensate for the larger engine?
Hey Tony: yes, the jet is larger at .72mm and port chambers @ 3mm. Overall, better gas and air flow.
Their intro is kinda fire tho I always look forward for itlol
How can you tell if the piston is backward?
The piston will have two piston ring notches near the top. Inside the top notche, you will see one side has a pin within the notch. The bottom will have a pin on the same face of the piston, but on the other side. The face that has the pins on it IS THE INTAKE SIDE.
@@SouthernCustomCC Thank's for the response and explanation.
i puchased the same but unsabled,had 3 gaskets,,just put one .
HOW much power you get from a YD100's vs a chines 80cc. thanks

Hi, help me to pay for the material how much l'm in benin l want that..
The piston might come in bacwards so you have to buy new ones check it the side with the pin should be on the intake side not pins on muffler side they rub against it
What is the torque specs on those head nuts?
12-14 ft/lbs
@@SouthernCustomCC Thank you for your reply.
Another trick drill some holes through the plastic red carburetor cover so you will get more air intake
Yes! I have done that too. Definitely helps it breathe. I put probably 10 holes in mine lol. I have also heard people drill into the exhaust pipe bottom cap
Great vid.cheers

Just ordered mine. Hope it don’t take a month to get here
Lol! I know what you mean. I am still waiting on stuff I ordered 2 months ago 😞. No sweat for you, though! Shipping days are Tuesday and Friday with Fedex. Yours will go out Friday and be there in (hopefully) 4-5 days due to delays. It won't be a month 😎👍. Thanks for your purchase and support! Happy building.
Very excellent
What's your thoughts on a 2 cycle to a 4 cycle
2 cycle. High rpm, easy to work on, but low end torq and very gas thirsty. 4 cycle. Reliable, sips gas, good low end torq, but hard to work on and has weak power at high rpm, larger engine casing. Just my thoughts.
Just Purchased the same motor is it necessary for me to tear it down to see which way my piston is I bought it from bicycle .com
Thanks for watching. I always tear mine down, but I haven't seen a backwards piston in quite sometime now. If your doing it just to check the piston direction, I'd say don't worry about it. But if you want to check everything else, then its be a good project to do. The choice is yours.
Southern Custom CC wow First of all I’d like to thank you for taking the time to respond to my Mail so quickly second videos a second to none you take the time to go step-by-step and I think I’m gonna take your advice and teardown just to look on could I see through the exhaust side which way the rings were without tearing it down
Matthew Cartelli : check this out. This might be what your looking for...
th-cam.com/video/YoAktFChW1k/w-d-xo.html
Southern Custom CC that was another awesome video 👌! But my question is Can I see the direction that the piston is going by looking up two pins on the piston rings by looking at them through the exhaust port or the intake port without removing the judge at all
You can take a lot off the bottom and on the exhaust side take it off The top
The gear shaft with a clutches just take that off and put a pull start on there about 20-25 bucks
