This is the kind of videos this community needs!!! Lots of people are scared of digging into their motors because they think it's a swiss watch with over 1000 moving parts. 20 thumbs up on this teardown.
Plain simple language w/o making the viewer feel like a child. Thanks so much for a great video. Watched 3 or 4 like this, altogether, this one gave me the confidence to go get er done.
Great explanation, great camera view, very thorough, you didn't speed through. Thanks brother. I'll give you a A++ Viewed from over in Michigan. Great idea to with heating the housing up for the bearing to go into. That's using the ol nugget!!
Another tip buddy instead of heating the bearring housing put the bearings in the freezer overnight. Next morning pop right in almost no effort at all.
That's a fantastic method, but personally, I like to send my berrings to Antarctica and wait 3 years for them to be sent back, then freeze them in liquid nitrogen, THEN pop em' right back in.
Thanks for the tutorial. Much appriciated, Bro. Building a full suspension bike and it works flawlessly so far with the 146 link #420 RK chain. In the process of upgraded all the rollers to double 6062 ZZ bearings steel idler sprockets on the power side for longevity. There is a little parasitic drag with the chain loop so I'm building a 70cc Mineralli engine to climb the hills in my area.
Thank you for making this video. Somehow got part of a piston ring inside the crank and froze the engine. Now I have to take it apart to get all of the pieces out.
This may be an old video but it's well worth it I just had to switch back over to a two-stroke after my four took a dump. If you know 2 strokes but watch this for a refresher play it at 2x speed trust me 😉
How you knocked out the clutch assembly from the drive side, can you do the same from the clutch gear? Such as leaving the drive gear alone (not taking the nut off either) and taking the clutch gear off and tapping it from the clutch gear so it comes out from the drive side
Hey my big gear ⚙️ and the shaft won’t come out dosent matter how har I hit it and it spins freely I smash it so hard I’m almost messing it up I don’t know what do do it’s just completely stuck in there almost need a hydrolic press to push it out
Thank you bro I always thought taking a motor apart was some big complicated job I e never done it before was always scared to but now I watched this and it's that easy?? Thanks for the info much appreciated 👍
How should i seperate the crank so i can replace the needle bearing? Do i need a press? Is there any other methods an average do it yourself with limited tools can use to get the job done?
Now I could probably make and customize a case like the ones in the pic of this video but to be fair it wouldn’t be as purdy without the proper tools. How do I acquire such beauty to up my level of customization and color? Please 🙏
Thanks for the video! I've started taking my motor apart but haven't finished yet! I've lost my bike so, that's probably why I haven't finished taking it apart! I'm not happy about that either! Because I had a lot of money into it
I could mount an 80 cylinder and piston on a 100 engine because in Romania there are no 100 cylinder and pistons, I want to point out that it fits in holes only that the 100 cc cylinder and piston is 50 mm and the 80 cc has 47mm? .
So I bought a sleeve and top end and I went too replace them and top end didn't come off but the sleeve and the top end came off with the sleeve and isn't a separate peace even tho it's a sanderd motorized bike kit and the parts didn't come close too fitting the studs didn't even match up and now I spent 60 bucks and I don't want too spend more money on parts that don't fit and I don't knownwhat too order what can I do too order the right parts for my bike kit?
I have a question for you I Bought one of them new minaralli hybrid engine and stripped the engine block hole question 1 can I use a piece of 1/4 thread all stock course thread from home depo after drilling out a little bigger and re threading it or other idea was to drill it out and use a heli coil another TH-camr suggested drilling it out to 8mm but then I would have to drill out the cast iron cylinder all I got is a dam good cordless drill if that will work any assistance would be greatly appreciated thanks
If ya got any little machine shops around where ya live take it there. They have the proper tooling to do the job, and it will comeout looking great. Shouldn't cost ya a arm and.leg.either. I used to work at a machine shop where I live in Michigan and we used to get jobs like this off the street all the time. Look into it, you'll be happy ya did.
@@davidkooi9373 my friend I had to use a heli coil and it fixed it and then I did another one wasn't as good as the first one but it worked we have 2 machine shops nether one wanted to mess with it I even was going to ditch the 6mm stud bolts and put 8mm lesslikley to strip them out NOPE wouldn't even let me use there drill press and I'd pay them so I remembered when I was younger I stripped out a spark plug hole on my dirt bike and the macanic put in a heli coil and it worked that's where I came up with the idea but thanks for your help anyways stay safe
So what happens if the threads on the small drive gear are stripped and your puller tool won't grip the threads how would you go about removing the Gear as it seems like it's seized on?
Heyyy soooo my motor had 2 thick washers and not a half thickness one on the magneto side. I wonder if you've ever seen that. Or if you as a builder think that's it's better to use 2 thick ones instead
I really enjoyed this breakdown of this engine I’ve broken down plenty of engines before like this the one thing that I’m tripping out on is where and what type of crank cases are those. They are beautifully colored crank cases Plus I don’t even know what the heck they’re called?????? I have looked up 80cc intake crankcases But nothing shows I would like to put a water cooled Engine cylinder head on my 2-stroke 80cc, but I need a crank case intake which seems impossible to find. HELLLLLLLLLLp!!!!........
I watched the other video where you drilled the holes to balance the crankshaft. The motor o have is one of the cheap 80cc eBay engines, it’s the long rod 38mm stroke with the wrist pin that’s higher up.
I was taking mine apart (thank god for your video) but had a garter spring fall out at some point during splitting the crank. Do you know where it belongs to?
Make sure you use a clamp mounting the carb to the frame after the hose, and maybe even clamp it off again between the carb and filter. I've seen a few race vids showing losses just because the carb popped off. It's a simple fix that costs a couple ounces.
Rob, I've decided to finally build one of these engines myself, and you are literally the only person I'd ever take advice from concerning these engines, would you please tell me where I can get the best quality bearings possible for this engine?, thanks for sharing.
9:41 That's a good shot of the rear mount area. On my Wildcat Minarelli, if I shave about .64" off of the Right-hand base hole of a CNC engine mount, and about the same off of the crankcase which is adjacent to it, I could use it >>>>> so why haven't I seen anyone else with a rear CNC mount? The front is all I ever see, and i've been diligently looking for over a month, hundreds of bikes, not one! 🤔 Mof, it's actually a flatter spot on the back than the front, and it's no problem there.
Hey man my sons racing one of these engines in his x1 pocket bike the thing moves and we are going to race it at Sandyhook. Lmk if you want to send us an engine and we can run your decal on our bike. Good luck and God Bless. Sincerely Richard
Have you ever done any work to the bottom end I’m getting a dio reed valve kit and wondering what I can do to my bottom end while I wait for my dio reed kit to be delivered
I know this is a late response to your post, but i have built a few of these motors for some kids that live close by. Try doing some case porting to match the transfer ports on the cylinder. I got one motor doing 47 mph with porting the cases and cylinder, plus an after-market exhaust pipe. I went up 2 sizes on the main jet and dropped the needle ( raised the clip ) on the carb one notch. The motor is reliable, but it is dangerous to ride at that speed because of the lack of brakes. Brakes on bikes are not made to stop a bike doing 47 mph. By the way i am a certified motorcycle and jet ski mechanic with numerous pro championships on motors i have built for racers. Jet Ski motors raced by my brother Tommy (the Bomber) Bonacci has 6 titles on my motors. Jeff "Chicken" Matiasevich (motocross and supercross) has a 125cc championship and a few wins in the 250cc class on the national events. These little bike motors and other motors always have room for improvement. Just be careful doing porting if you are not sure what you are doing because once you remove material you cant put it back.
hay rob josh from the group...love how your describing each part of the video. Only thing is you could have explained each part to mod....maybe for another part?
I also appreciate your tips but for a minute I thought something's wrong with my phone but I guess you recorded it where it looks upside down. Thanks though bud.
These motors are assembled dry from the factory. You could add a couple drops of premix oil to each bearing and smear a little bit on the cylinder bore. That's what I've always done without knowing any better and I've never had an issue with my own builds.
My motor was top speed at 32 mph but when was ride at top speed it started to slow down now it only top speed is 22 mph do u know what the problem can be.
do you let your viewers that are not mechanically inclined? send you there 80cc motor for a video because I just got one and it runs but it's in parts I don't have time to mess with it however would you let me send my motor to you to fix.??? not sure how that works please let me know. I got a bike cycle to mount it to after and what would you charge me to do so and by the way love the videos bro.
the nut is soo tight that it walled out my tool and my shaft. it wasnt even the threads that was the problem. i cannot believe this. now i got to find a strong washer that fits in the tool in hopes i can get the bearing off.
The bt engines are really good long lasting engines I can't wait for them to come out with a 52 mm piston and a 54 mm piston set up my bullet train would still be running if I didn't get caught in the rain storm and burned the piston rings I was going like 4 miles full throttle
thought of changing cranckshaft to a little bigger one but after watching the vid i better not to do that but also that wire has a use atleast for me cuz i could do electric work safely on the bike

Nicholas Boettcher no worries. Hope it makes it easier

I think it's a little faster to just heat it up
@@giovanniminotte2951 Or you can toss the bearings in the freezer right when you pull em out?

Is there a gasket for the crank vase

You can also use a rubber mallet to remove the clutch rod assembly without mucking up the edges.
Hey man, why the heck does it look like there’s 2 gaskets (one one each side) for the crank case?
Do I have to grease the bearings
Where can I get one of those anodised crankcases?
