I am old enough to be that Cadet’s Grandfather and I served in Naval Aviation from February 1967 to the beginning of December 1970. I got to fly backseat in our TA-4F’s and that was the most fun I ever had,,,,with my clothes on.

Not just the war plane,I respect them flying in all USAF planes, from cargoC130 To bombers, they are all dedicated their lives for US and all countries with freedom.
I flew front seat in the YO-3A observation aircraft. The first stealth aircraft the Army own and the USAF were jealous we had the aircraft and they didn’t. These are my words. When this unit was force to stop flying I went back to our parent u it flying right seat OV-1A, C, and super C Mohawks. I flew photo recon.

When I think of the 555th "Triple Nickel" fighter squadron and Aviano Air Base it brings me back to the story of "Basher Five-Two, The Story of Capt. Scott O' Grady a USAF pilot who was shot down by Serbian forces while patrolling the no-fly zone as part of Operation Deny Flight in 1995 over the Bosnian countryside and survived six days in the hostile wilderness of Bosnia but was then rescued by the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
In documentary films you can see that the marines did hit on his hands shortly before entering the rescue helicopter so that he lost his gun and left there on bosnian soil, probably a Beretta M 9. But why did they do this intentionally ?
I remember the Scott O'Grady story.

Freddy, she touched her hair TWICE. Once was in the dressing room as she was getting her gear on. The second time was when she was following the gentleman along the back of the aircraft. She was not in combat playing with her hair so stop being JEALOUS.

Put her in Aircraft Maintenance for a month and then give her an incentive ride. Those crew chiefs and all others who maintain these aircraft need to be first priority for rides. Unfortunately that's not the case many times.
I had an AF academy cadet "shadow" me as a night shift Pro-Super(shift supervisor of maintenance) and she was to say the least shocked. It takes one helluva an effort to produce sorties. Lots of Marlboro's and coffee along with 12 hour plus shifts each day. I was old school. She gained my respect when she told me after her 6 week immersion training in Aircraft Maintenance she felt better about being a pilot one day. I'm proud to say she made it and became an F-15 pilot. She came to my retirement ceremony and thanked me for showing her how much maintenance sacrifices for a mere 1.5 sortie. She genuinely said she measured aircraft maintenance NCO's against me. That was the best compliment I ever received in my career.
Ladies are awesome! She knew what to say.
What a moment in her life...many of acer pilots in the world would never get the chance to fly these beauties in their lives
