That viewfinder that isolates color against a neutral ground should be in every observational realist's kit! (Did you train in the Munsell color system?) In the opening moments of the video, one of our team said they wondered if you'd be painting some safety-orange cones? We think that would be an interesting challenge to resolve fluorescent colors with a standard-color palette!

It should be! Definitely a helpful tool. I'm familiar with the Munsell color system but I haven't learned about it in depth. Traffic cones sound like a great challenge. I'll have to start looking for some florescent color opportunities. Thank you for the suggestion!

Your channel has altered my artistic brain chemistry. Concrete buildings I never thought to notice are now suddenly interesting and I find myself rethinking the composition of my nature art as a result too. It’s exciting! Also, your video editing keeps getting even better

Love that sentence, "artistic brain chemistry," I'm obsessed with that now.😂 It's really neat to find new inspirations, I'm glad it's been exciting for you! And thank you so much :)

Making the 'ordinary' extraordinary through your view and turn it into a wonderful painting , that is what you accomplished 👏 I love it ! But you also have a great way to put your thoughts into words so it is also comfi to listen what you have to say 👌Interesting to see the pallet work too , it is good and challenging to use different tools (I need to tell that to myself 😊😉) . Lots of fun with your next project 👊

That is always my mission, so thank you 😊 I'm so happy the words are comforting and interesting (I try not to ramble) Oh yes, challenge is a good thing once and a while, best of luck in your work also!

You did a really good job on that painting! You captured those colors well. As your northern neighbor I feel I should apologize for all of that smoke in your area; it was highly likely coming from the hundreds of forest fires burning across the country. There was an air quality advisory in our city for a few days in June. Apparently it was the worst on the planet, and ours is not even a big city! Mastery; I've read Robert Greene's previous books, but not this one yet. Please ket us know if you recommend it once your done. Cheers!

Thanks! No apologies needed, nobody can control the wind! I feel bad for those more affected by the fires. The book has been great so far, I wish the first section on inclinations and finding your strengths was longer, but only because it was so good. Nice stories on past masters as well. I'm hoping to do a review on several books (through an artist's perspective) once I finish the half a dozen that I've started reading 😂

The title of the video is perfect. The painting looks really nice, and I feel including the clouds would have taken the focus away from the poles, so glad on leaving out the clouds. As always, enjoyed the vlog and everything in it. hopefully, Threads makes its way to Europe, cannot access it for now.

Oh good thank you, I was hoping the title fit the video. And I agree with the clouds comment. I'm glad you enjoyed watching!

I love how you make the most simple scenery look so interesting my the way you crop it ❤

I'm glad you like it! I think that initial crop and framing can do wonders for a plain reference. I really admire painters like Vermeer and Vrel's compositions.

Love what you do, especially how you don't allow outside influences alter your unique vision. Really like the painting in this vlog. I wonder did you have to pay for parking though.

Thank you for saying that.😊 This was one of my favorite pieces also. The school that provides plein air classes I take owns this parking garage, so I didn't need to pay.

0:53 It’s funny to see you explore those famous @STORROR spots, and view them in a completely different way!! I’m loving the painting and your video’s! Keep it up 🤙
