Hi everyone! I hope you are all staying safe and doing well during this unsettling time!
In today's video I bring you through a long day of purging my personal closet while I'm home during quarantine.This was so overdue! It feels wonderful to have my space back!!

Lori Tata is human! The always together TH-camr who has these great videos of her perfect hauls and what-solds with her uncluttered counters, leads a double life. Her bedroom looks like mine! Drawers not closed all the way. Piles of "stuff" that needs to be put away. A pile of "I can wear it once more" on the chair. But my favorite, favorite, favorite part was the before luggage. That's so me. Just throw it out of the way (even though it's still in the way) with the certain knowledge that "I'll get right back to it and put it away where it belongs tomorrow". Love, love, love it. Congratulations on a huge accomplishment. I didn't think you and Lulu were going to make it into the bed for a week.

Well this was certainly a fun video! I am in love with your closet /sitting space. How cozy. The little area with your American Girl collection would be any kids secret hiding place to read a book , I am sure your daughter has wonderful memories of that area! I would have never thought to use a tablecloth to cover a chair, what a great idea. I did the Marie Kondo on my closet last summer. It does feel so good when you are finally done! My closet is so small here in Ohio compared to what I had in Tx, so I really needed to do it. Like you said, you really only wear the same few pairs of favorite jeans and leggings anyway! The one thing I could not finish was the "paper" category with Marie Kondo. Maybe next winter for that task!! Thanks for a great video!

@@LorisBostonFound It is amazing how good you feel right after going through that process! I am sure it feels odd to have an empty drawer or two. You certainly will be busy getting all those listed!! Get the coffee ready! Oh- your interview with Denali was a delight to listen to today!! I learned so much about the American Girl Dolls. We have a few here at the house. One has an arm that is completely off her body, she needs to go to the hospital. How does that even happen , lol! There is a store in Columbus, Ohio that I believe you can send her in to get repaired.
Take pictures of treasures like kids bed sets, artwork, etc.

Just put another tension rod over the American Girl Doll area so u cant see it. Get back to painting with the Annie Sloan paint and redo the hope chest or strip it. Definitely change your hangers it's cheap and worth it! #goalsgirl

Thanks for being so real ! You have a lot more space than I do but I can relate to the overwhelming abundance of STUFF that I don’t wear anymore and it has just taken over ! My house is a mess and I am totally over it too and just don’t know where to start ! I keep putting it off but now is the best time to start since I have the extra time .

I LOVE THAT YOU DID THIS! INSPIRATION... I did some of this last night. I cleared out part of my closet because I have 2 antique booths I have one huge box for that once we are back in business. The other box is for winter stuff I'll deal with next year. Good for you!

Lulu was confused for most of the night! Not sure who was happier when I finally cleared off the bed...Lulu or me!! We both slept great after all of that decluttering!
You did an incredible job!!! You gave me motivation. My master bath is so large, I went through all expired bath products, make up and cold medication and such to throw out. I actually purchased a Kurig for my bathroom to have a coffee station on top of an antique jelly cabinet I have in there that holds my towels so I can enjoy coffee in the morning and not have to go downstairs to get it. (Purchased shelf stable moo moos from Amazon) Yup, it's just gonna make us more lazy but I love it. I will be tackling my walk in closet as well. Enjoy your beautiful organized space!!

I am a reseller in the storage unit business… my house is FULL of finds. I cleared out my wardrobe which was full of clothes for me and I was holding onto things, that like you say, won’t see my body again 😂😂 and I cleared out most of my wardrobe that I can now use to store my reselling stuff.

I swap out my clothes seasonally. It’s a good use for some of those suitcases and chests. I worry about moths getting to my sweaters, so they’ll get put in drawers, at the least... I especially love putting away all the winter clothes and bringing out the lighter brighter things for spring and summer. THAT brings me joy! Thanks for this video...I am newly motivated!

Omg! Thank you for sharing your real life! I actually started my eBay Store & P.M. Closet by doing this Method in September 2019. Some things I definitely changed to better suit my needs. 1 suggestion I might make, you might consider that has been helpful to me is, I separated all of my everyday favs to one location. I don't need to look @ off season, formal clothing on a daily basis. Too overwhelmed! Also, I had dozens of black t-shirts, black leggings, black tank tops & when I folded them, I could not figure out what was what? I have now realized to fold with the tag up. Next, which was the hardest part, I gave my grown kids all of the things I felt I needed to hang onto. I let them choose to let go or keep! Ugg! Just suggestions....I also attach memories to every item & had to just let go.....its not a easy process!
Just to add on to my annoying long message. I had a extensive collection of Precious Moments, Barbie's & Beanie Babies! I thought maybe my Kids or Grandkids would appreciate them, but NO! Only look, but not touch! Why have I let these "things" consume my space? I have listed & sold several & intend on selling the rest! It has been a emotionally process, but I also feel very free of clutter in my personal space!

Fantastic video! I've also been having a daily cry💔 I hold it together all day, but once my kids are asleep, I give myself a few minutes to just cry. Hi Lori - What a great job you've done! I went through my things about 6 weeks ago and it feels wonderful. You may find that you decide to get rid of even more when the seasons change and you realize how few things you actually wore.
My favorite part of my clean out was folding all my cashmere sweaters with tissue paper. It gives me enormous pleasure (sparks joy) to hear the crackling of the paper when I pull one out!

Great video! Now that I am no longer working, due to disability it’s time to get rid of all of my work clothing. I am not a reseller, at least not yet. Mine which are business casual I will donate to women’s shelters. I as well have multiple sizes especially I jeans. Alas most likely f my favorites are now way too big. My disability has caused me to lose quite a bit of wt. I would love to do clean out over few days but I have very limited mobility and endurance. One thing is for sure I have way too many clothes! Pretty much leggings and tee’s or sweaters now, that’s my “wardrobe”!😂😂Thanks for sharing!! ❤️❤️❤️

Such an inspiring video --- you did fabulous. Weight issues are very difficult. (I changed my user name -- it was Faye) But want you to know I used to be 240 lbs & now I'm 145 lbs, It took a year but did it. So I am very familiar with the decision of what to keep. Through out this process, I threw out clothes that were too big. Learned it is best NOT to keep them. Stay well & thanks!

@@LorisBostonFound Thanks! I was 5'4' & very unhappy with myself. Decided to start walking daily - no excuses. And I stopped diet coke, fast food, and junk. I put it all in a journal. And made it a big priority. I was in grad school - and decided this has to be my #1 goal - second to the MA. I did both! I still walk -- finished a lot of 5k races. But it's all about being honest with yourself & deciding you are worth it. The weight loss was huge for my health & self esteem. All programs work when you follow them. But it's the goal setting, the discipline & knowing you can do it. Not so much about 'the food'. Head up & move forward! Stay well!

Oh my goodness.....I wish I lived closer to you, because this project is my ideal project! I love to do things where there's a clear difference from before and after. I'm not half way in the video, but know that you have to feel so much better having a clean and organized space. Your bedroom is your sanctuary and it should be free of clutter, so your mind can rest. It will be interesting to see if you sleep better. This is one of those things that you have made lemonade out of the lemon delivery (COVID-19) that we all have received. I can't wait to resume the video and watch the rest!

We are staying home, watching TV. Catching up on Movies. I have a website where I review films, TV and the like. I have two writers that write about movies and games. I'm trying to get my inventory under control. I am lucky because I have two storage units full of inventory. I don't have to worry. Even if the virus is around for a few years, I'm good. I do have to work on putting up my resller TH-cam channel. Stay strong, stay well.

I've done a little organizing of my closet and drawers-mainly putting things where they were supposed to go instead of just shoving things anywhere in the closet! I am working from hone - so many folks are free during the week being at home and have so much time. - I am trying to organize on the weekends - very tiring this being at home 24/7. When do I rest??!!

You and I, have so much clothes. I just been thrifting at my own closet for my Poshmark that we paid full price. I can’t wait to do thrifting at the bins or the thrift shops paying for less than 5 dollars. You are good conquering it all at once. I’m doing it slowly.

Ahhhhhh, it’s so easy to keep wonderful fun things that we find while thrifting, I know I have way more leggings, yoga pants, ( what’s yoga?) and tops than I need! I will be sourcing from my own closet this next few weeks....BUT GIRL, you have enough to last for a while! I am almost jealous, but I know it has only become a source of anxiety and shame( please don’t). You have obviously begun a new fresh journey.... happy travels! Be well.

I am doing the same with my closet. I recently cleaned out 20 pairs of shoes and still have lots. I'll be doing a video this weekend on what i'm seĺling. I live in leggings or dresses so know those can be thinned out a lot. Great job!

I worked retail most of my adult life and a “bargain” hunter (many new-with-tags-not really a bargain). Amazing job! I am “essential” worker so not trapped in house but hoping to tackle this soon. Loved the video! I am hanging out in my backyard in Tucson a lot. Today the max temperature was 84 which is perfect for me. I am retired but usually on the go volunteering and I miss that but now I have time to read and enjoy the wildlife. 🌵💃🐗 I also cut my bangs 😱 and made a mask with the cup of a bikini top 🤣

Hi Amanda! I don't typically shop from those sources. I love (and miss) the hunt at the thrift store. I might try a Thredup or wholesale box one of these days!
Hiya Lori, funny I’ve been using the “Kon Mari” method of folding clothes since a teenager as I’ll fully admit I keep my clothes forever☺️! It’s come in handy as I love vintage so much & still fit all my stuff from HS. Don’t be jealous; being this tiny comes w/ a whole other set of probs! Besides you’re average sized, I dislike the fashion industry making up fake numbers for clothing; there was no size 0 or 1 until the 2000’s, we got 3’s in late 90s, my vintage 70s size 7/8’s are the exact same size! I’d kill (ok not quite, I’d break thru walls🤣) to have just *one* closet the size of your 1 bedroom closet- I think all 3 (including linen) closets together in this old house wouldn’t be as big! Doing loads of cleaning, taught myself to [finally] crochet a granny square, going on loads of long walks, read 10 books (I don’t do anything slow except go down stairs for fear of breaking the other side of my face😜). I get claustrophobic easily & the rebel in me wants the option to go where I please even if I’m not interested... if that makes any sense! Good job! I hope you & your family are well! Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️

That was inspiring to watch! ❤️❤️❤️ well I started to jump head first into reselling on posh/eBay/Mercari a few months ago before quarantine started all while working full time and thank god i did because I’ve been out Of work for over 2 weeks now. I have rebranded, opened an actual eBay store instead Of just selling on my old eBay acct. I’ve been working almost daily photographing, listing and selling. Most of my sales have been on eBay and Mercari. Luckily I had a lot of hard goods that had accumulated that I’ve been able to work through for eBay especially. But that has kept me sane so far. I guess until I run out of inventory anyway. I have bought a couple of mystery boxes to help with the clothing listings some good some not. It’s trial and error when it’s a mystery. Lol. I’m inspired to go back through my closet again after watching your video! Love your content and vibe!! 💜💜

I know my closet is packed with off brands and they wouldn't be worth listing. last year I did the "wear the next thing in line and if you love it, keep it. otherwise donate." problem was, by the time they came out of the laundry I couldn't remember!!! it's all still in my closet. 😂
I think after laundry turn the hanger backwards when keeping and hanging back in closet and you will know. hope this make sense
I have a hard time getting rid of clothing too! I have these items new with tags that I’ve had in my closet for years but I keep them thinking I’m gonna wear this. Another year passes & I never wear the lol. I just cleared out my closet room (we converted a bedroom into my closet) & got rid of a lot of lower end brands. I use to work at H&M so I had a lot of that & Forever 21 (I’m a shopaholic so I had A LOT lol) most is getting donated I put up some interesting pieces I had but most are not worth the time to list. I could probably go back through my closet again & get rid of half of it but I’m not ready yet lol
It's really hard to let go sometimes Dee Dee. I found that starting with the lower end stuff made it a little easier. You'll get it done at your own pace. I hope you're safe and sound. xo
Ugh. I turned a guest room into my closet. There’s no way my stuff would fit on one bed. But I’m in the process of doing the same thing 🤦♀️

Thank you Liya!I do use a label printer. I have two actually! The one I use the most is called Phomemo. It's fast and affordable. I also use a Dymo Label 4XL which I also like, but it's kind of quirky at times...but the print quality is better than the Phomemo. The Phomemo uses labels that sit in back of the printer, the Dymo has a roll you place inside the machine. If you go to my Amazon store which is linked below I have them both in my recommendations.
