My death piles have gotten in the way of my productivity and they are taking up way too much mental and physical space in my life! OMG. I have the same clutter issues. My resell business is taking over my dining room and my garage office is out of control. You motivated me to create a list of task to complete in January to help me get organized for the year. Your office looks great now. Such a pretty rug.
Once you start little piles here and there it’s game over…before you know it you are in too deep to deal with it and you just go sourcing! It’s like being a hamster on a wheel, the piles keep growing! Every once in a while I just look at it and decide to deal with it all, just like you are. What a great feeling it is to declutter! I wish I had your office space, it’s wonderful.
One of my goals is to get back into filming TH-cam videos. I had taken a very long (2 years), but much needed break. I needed time to deal with severe anxiety and depression. But I finally have a handle on it and am feeling much better! That said, I'm ready to film again! Your videos give me so much inspiration, so thank you for that Lori! Lori, your space looks amazing! I'm so jealous, yet motivated, to do something about mine. I live in a small 1-room loft apartment and 80% is taken up by inventory (20+ 66-qt plastic bins, 12 Elfa mesh rolling racks and EVERY inch of counter space), packing & shipping supplies, stacked up to the high ceiling! I list and store hard goods as soon as I bring them home but I have 3 HUGE piles of clothing to list. All told, I have ~3000 items here. I can't afford to move into a larger apartment or rent storage space so I'm trying to improve sell-through, list daily and source less. I'm relocating to Europe in Dec 2022 and it all has to be gone by then! Unless, of course, you want to do a big buyout!
Lori, I'm with you!!! I just quit my special education job before Christmas break to go full-time in reselling. After getting my kids back to school school, college and life...I'm ready to GO...BUT FIRST...MY PILES...SOOO many Piles!!! They will be my project for at least the month of January....THEN I'm hoping to do inventory, create some better systems, business identity etc. I'm hoping I learn from this process... I agree!! Ughhh…all the clutter!! I was feeling the same way this weekend. I have way to much inventory, so I went through my winter death pile this weekend and have a giant box full of this I paid $1 for that I’m taking to buy sell trade stores. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Congratulations on a clean office!
Yes I have it!!!!🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄😫😫😫😫😫those piles, I'm not reseller just my inability to be organized but I'm starting last December I'm decluttering one corner of my living room I cleaning my closet and after that I'm feeling much better I donned a few bags of clothes etc. And even I found a sweter like I know I have it but for a year went missing in my closet then yes I had thos piles! But now I promise myself to be better!!!!! I love your videos/vlogs an good look!!!!🙋♀️👍🌵😊

OMG.......I so needed this..I have only been selling on eBay for about 3-4 months.I'm doing great on eBay.Posh mark I started about 3 weeks ago..I'm not liking it..I hardly make sales.I have tons of inventory that took over my bedroom and I want to cry.Every time I try to de-clutter I stop .Or once I'm done washing/steaming items and find a flaw ..I give up and put everything in a pile because I'm frustrated.Then I got a taste of the Goodwill bins..So the piling started all over again last week.I promised myself I would get it together starting this week.Wish me luck!
You should totally list that gorgeous Theory dress yourself, it’s really on trend! Office looks great. If you ever do donate dog beds or supplies please think of your local rescues, they are always in need (I would have listed that one myself for the price) but just something for everyone to keep in mind!!
You are def not alone, I do a BIG declutter every January, mostly on my listed inventory, craft supplies, fabrics, etc but many hand wash only things too, you will feel so much lighter by the end, it’s sooo worthwhile, I look forward to mine each year, now

I’m with you! Similar. We are living in a hoarder’s apartment. But I kind of did it on purpose preparing for having to recover from surgery. Now I am comforted by the fact that I have plenty of items to list while I’m staying home.
We have 4 cats and a dog. We've had a large Ruggable in our living room for about 2 years (a light cover for summer and a dark cover for winter). LOVE THEM!! Sooooooo worth the investment. When I bought the first set, my husband said, "Why did you spend $400 on a rug??" Now, he knows! It's totally a 2-person job to attach the two pieces. We use a wood yard stick to smooth out any wrinkles.
Great job so far Lori! There's a lady on YT who has a great way to organize her shipping supplies. You may want to take a peek at her system when you have a sec. Lavender Clothesline is her channel. Your office looks beautiful and peaceful!

This was great. I’m glad you did this, it’s nice to see how other people handle death piles of all sorts. I keep mine in clear storage containers. I just listed everything and still have yet to put into inventory. But hey, I’m halfway there😂

I can totally relate Lori. I am doing inventory this weekend and I am being ruthless in the purging. I noticed so many things that I thought I had listed aren't listed at all. Fixing all of that this week! Listing a lot of things low and letting them go! Revamping a few spaces to start the New Year off right.
Lori, Thanks for the motivating video. Living more simply and decluttering is one of my main goals for the year. I do not have a TH-cam channel but I think that I will take pictures of my clutter and send them to my sister with a time frame for decluttering the space and then send photos of the completed work. I hear so many youtubers refer to the style numbers on clothing tags and how easy it is to look them up for stock photos, etc. But I never have any luck with that. Not sure what Im doing wrong. Amen! I don't have quite as much as you've got going there, but I have a laundry basket full of things I need to sew and repair before I can post, things of my own that I want to sell that are taking up room in my own closet, and clutter in my office that's stopping me mentally from pursuing other ventures as well. I have gotten cracking on it since the beginning of the year and it feels good, but I still have a bit of a ways to go too 😊

Lori I was yelling at the screen to tell you to list the dog bed. I love the rug. It pulls the blue right off of the wall. Good pick... As a home organizer, I love copy paper boxes, once they're full they're hauled right out to the car so they're dispersed of the next day. I don't want my clients to have a chance to second guess what's in those boxes we get rid of everything immediately. I think it's a wonderful thing that you're close to the real real and they give you a bag for easy pickup let them do the schlepping. This month I plan to thrift less and focus more on listing the things I've been putting off listing (like the clothes my kids have outgrown) and some decor from my old house that does not go with the vibe I'm going with for our new house.
I also have clothing to bring in to the consignment shop . My current death pile is an excess of designer paper I am creating cards with . Their departure will create much Joy in my life .

Yes…I’m in the same situation. Huge death pile of shoes and bags! My issue is I am out of storage space after listing. I have to learn that I am limited by space…lol. I also need to pull listings that are not selling…2 years old…but just when I think I am going to do that and old item sells…lol. Love your videos. Happy New Year!

I can soooooo relate! I was using my sons room for everything when he moved out and then he wanted his room back, so now I can’t get into my walk in closet, boxes, piled sky high. Double stacked Plastic bins line my hallway, my bedroom door is coming off the hinges from all clothes hanging, it drives me nuts I Dread clutter and thrive on “neat and orderly” it all gives me anxiety. I need a designated room for all of this shiz. I wish I had a basement! Yet I still keep buying lol 😂 Little by little it’s going.

Lori, Thanks for the motivating video. Living more simply and decluttering is one of my main goals for the year. I do not have a TH-cam channel but I think that I will take pictures of my clutter and send them to my sister with a time frame for decluttering the space and then send photos of the completed work. She will hold me accountable.

Hi Lori, I have a suggestion/request for a video topic. I hear so many youtubers refer to the style numbers on clothing tags and how easy it is to look them up for stock photos, etc. But I never have any luck with that. Not sure what Im doing wrong. I was hoping you might be able to show us a few examples if you have a chance. I hope Im not the only one who would be interested. Thanks so much!! Linda
Amen! I don't have quite as much as you've got going there, but I have a laundry basket full of things I need to sew and repair before I can post, things of my own that I want to sell that are taking up room in my own closet, and clutter in my office that's stopping me mentally from pursuing other ventures as well. I have gotten cracking on it since the beginning of the year and it feels good, but I still have a bit of a ways to go too 😊

Lori I was yelling at the screen to tell you to list the dog bed. I love the rug. It pulls the blue right off of the wall. Good pick... As a home organizer, I love copy paper boxes, once they're full they're hauled right out to the car so they're dispersed of the next day. I don't want my clients to have a chance to second guess what's in those boxes we get rid of everything immediately. I think it's a wonderful thing that you're close to the real real and they give you a bag for easy pickup let them do the schlepping. This month I plan to thrift less and focus more on listing the things I've been putting off listing (like the clothes my kids have outgrown) and some decor from my old house that does not go with the vibe I'm going with for our new house.
I also have clothing to bring in to the consignment shop . My current death pile is an excess of designer paper I am creating cards with . Their departure will create much Joy in my life .
It's crazy how much joy we can get from letting go!

Yes…I’m in the same situation. Huge death pile of shoes and bags! My issue is I am out of storage space after listing. I have to learn that I am limited by space…lol. I also need to pull listings that are not selling…2 years old…but just when I think I am going to do that and old item sells…lol. Love your videos. Happy New Year!

I can soooooo relate! I was using my sons room for everything when he moved out and then he wanted his room back, so now I can’t get into my walk in closet, boxes, piled sky high. Double stacked Plastic bins line my hallway, my bedroom door is coming off the hinges from all clothes hanging, it drives me nuts I Dread clutter and thrive on “neat and orderly” it all gives me anxiety. I need a designated room for all of this shiz. I wish I had a basement! Yet I still keep buying lol 😂 Little by little it’s going.
