I really do believe that Brian Clough favourite part of the job was making young lads dreams come true and nurturing them all like he would his own children..I don’t think a manager will ever hold that amount of power at a club ever again...I really miss those days..Thankyou for this ❤️
I'm a baggies fan who's so glad that Forrest are back where they belong, and who never gets tired of Cloughie stories. That man was truly a legend, extravagantly talented and a complete individual. I really miss him.
Glad you’re liking them Paul - have you seen the one with Michael Dawson one, he speaks quite a bit about Spurs… don’t forget to subscribe for free and they’ll all pop up on your TH-cam feed… cheers
These interviews are just fantastic. I watched the Mark Crossley one first, and now Brian Laws and I’ll def watch more. I’ve gotta fess up I’m a Spurs fan, and I’m spending half my time watching videos about Forest legends 😆. Keep up the great work, and best of luck for coming season.
My fondest memory of you and lawsy working together chippers when you did a facebook video standing over the river next to Middlesbrough’s stadium. You quoted “there’s an old decrepit wreck that’s seen better days (the camera was on the old cargo ship). No not that one, Brian Laws is here”. I remember Brians face was such a picture and told you that wasn’t funny, the banter between you two on brought so much funny times when times were difficult to watch Forest. But you guys always find a way to make us listeners laugh. 😂 Brilliant interview yet again mate
Just come across this channel and glad i did. Im a notts fan but this is defo my era as i got into football around 1988. As i got older i kinda fell in love with Cloughie...i devour a lotof his stuff. Btw. Lawsy does a good Cloughie! The Aldridge story. Always thought Aldridge was a c u next tuesday for that. But i heard that tony adams got aldridge back for that as per his autobiography
I'm an American and I don't know very much about your football, but I am very interested in the older day's of your football, and these interviews are gems, so wonderful. Thank u for these great podcasts. All the best. 👍🇺🇲🗽🏴👍
Legend, that goal at West Ham was one of the best away days. Brilliant story telling and fascinating regarding your time as manager. Thanks for the brilliant interview.
You were right to put me onto this one Chippers - brilliant. Really appreciate the way you get the greats from your era to open up! big fan and I am spreading the word.
One of my all time favourite players, always put a shift in. I used to sit next to two older women in the Main Stand, one I think her name was Janet was sort of friends with Lawsy, wouldn't have a word said against him. Happy days.
I always remember that rub on Brians head after the own goal and hated Aldridge for it, but this has made me feel better after all these years. Good to know they can both laugh about it now though.😂
Laws, Des, Chets, Psycho - always reminds me of when I started watching Forest on telly as a 9 year old in Belfast. Seems like a lovely bloke and a really steady player in a brilliant team. Remember him scoring a scorcher at Vicarage Road.
Thanks Dave… that means a lot, if they’re interesting to fans of other clubs, and not just Forest too. Always had a soft spot for Fulham anyway, as I’ve mentioned before - always loved a visit to the Cottage!
Think he says that to most players that he hasn't seen them play, he told jemmo his greengrocer recommended him after watching him play for Preston against the stags.
Both have said yes, so just need to sort times etc… should be in the pipeline I hope! Don’t forget to subscribe for free Stuart, to see past and future interviews appear on your feed… Cheers!
All these stories and anecdotes from Brian Laws, Mark Crossley, Dean Saunders etc.about Cloughie should all be recreated and made into a comedy movie. It would hilarious to watch on screen as they are to listen to.
@@SportChippers Agreed. If you know any film producers or anyone in the business , would be an idea worth pitching to them. It’d be the funniest film in years.
Loved those late 70’s / early 80’s with Cloughie and Forest. I used to live close to where he hails from near Middlesbrough. Fellow Yorkshireman. Wonderful times. Now I can’t watch the current criminal / corrupt / non-British / non-local type / far too much money game any more.
I wouldn't have liked to be tackled by Brian laws, boro legend and Brian clough . "We'll have an argument, we'll sit down and talk about it, and decide I was right" Brian clough.

Why did he stop the Lee Chapman story before the end/punchline?
Class interview just like all the others on your channel, really interesting to hear esp stuff from the Clough era! From a Fulham fan.
Thanks Dave… that means a lot, if they’re interesting to fans of other clubs, and not just Forest too. Always had a soft spot for Fulham anyway, as I’ve mentioned before - always loved a visit to the Cottage!

Ivano is one of the best players I've ever seen - and that was at 35!!
He wasn’t half bad eh?
I've got great memories of watching Brian Laws at forest. I remember my step-dad laughing at me for asking why his legs were so hairy. lol
ha ha!
I'm a Birmingham city fan and Brian bought Trevor Francis from blues and he said it was the best player he ever bought. BIG UP DA BRUMMIE LADS!!!

Unfortunately to honest really good in my estimation Brian laws. Genuine guy
That was the best interview funny

Great interview, some funny stories there. Thanks for what you did at Grimsby mate, even though you did cut me up at Fiveways roundabout once?

ha ha, too right!
So… what did Clough say to Chapman after that miss??🤔
That’s the bit that came out for Chippers Club Members…
@@SportChippers That’s bloody unfair Chippers🤣🤣
Ok then… How much would that cost?😎

Chippers mate, why did you remove the end of the story about Clough / Chapman as told by Brian Laws?
Because a chunk of the interview has to come out, so something is exclusive to Chippers Club members, and that was the section I chose to come out.
@@SportChippers oh I see 🙁 okay, well keep up the good work, great channel 👍
Thank you!
