Heh. I still have my ticket stub for this game. Lower bowl, section 107, row V seat 17. $35.00. Game #41, Thursday, April 18, 1996. We had no idea what we were in for that night, but right around the time Dennis hit his 8th or his 9th 3-pointer, the entire arena was alerted via text on the scoreboard that the NBA record was 10 (held by a former Heat player Brian Shaw, who was, on this night, on the Magic). That's when the entire O-Rena went apeshit. Great to see this footage. Jack Givens, we miss you. BTW -- this was the last Magic home game of the season, not the last game of the regular season. The Magic played two more away games -- the Sixers and the Hornets.
They definitely were good. But Jordan, Pippen and the Bulls were too much. Houston the only team that took advantage of Jordan being retired. They pulled off two, but once he got his game back he dominated the remainder of his era.
mic dubb The Magic beat them in the playoffs before they got Rodman, Orlando not winning a championship had more to do with Shaq leaving very early in career. It wasn't like Lebron or KD who had been on their team for years without winning.
And Shaq admittedly regrets it to this very day. He even told Dwight not to do what he ended up doing anyways, and look at him now. 2 centers that could of had it all with a team built around them. And we will forever be in rebuilding mode.
do some research before you start cursing at people. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three-point_field_goal "During the 1994-95, 1995-96, and 1996-97 seasons, the NBA attempted to address decreased scoring by shortening the distance of the line from 23 ft 9 in (22 ft at the corners) to a uniform 22 ft around the basket. From the 1997-98 season on, the NBA reverted the line to its original distance of 23 ft 9 in (22 ft at the corners)."
You a real one if you know it is the "O-Rena". I'm an Orlando native. This older court design I didn't particularly like because it seemed too plain. But when they got into the 2000's and with the new arena, the floor designs became much better. My boy said our floor just feels like a big stage. The Magic were rated #1 in the NBA for fan experience, and I can see the organization put a lot of thought into their presentation of designs and fan experience.
One of the best MBA teams that was put together

+John Patten You're a lucky men, really
can you sell me the ticket?
Brian Shaw also had the assist on the shot that broke his own record.
At his 11th shoot, with the crowd shouting, I have goosebumps...
3D!!! My favorite player!
They should have won multiple titles down them imo!!

+mic dubb very true

Nick Anderson chocked

They should have left him on for the rest of the game
Ricordo dove ero e con chi gasatissimo
3D was hitting NBA threes in his sophomore year at GT
This video is killing my ears.
The 3pt line was shorter back then
Ghufran Ali no it wasn't lmao the fuck are you talking about lol. 3 point line has always been 23.9 feet from the hoop

I agree with you man. He's one of the greatest shooters ever. I was just stating a fact.
MrBrenman21 of course. because some of the attempts were right behind the line which means they wouldn't have counted if the line was at 23' 9"
That's almost the exact same spot on the court and fashion when Ray Allen beat Reggie Miller's 3pt record
So why is Dennis Scott 3 point shooting rating 98 on 2K?
look how many 3s he dropped in this video
+Rodney Cofield The rating is based more on how that player performed that particular season.
thank you for telling us after a year lol
I didn't see your comment until yesterday.
I know man I was just kidding, but for real I actually didnt know that thanks for explaining that :)
Orena court looks old as h*ll now. Knicks fan but I always liked games on Orlando's court

Klay Thompson: hold my beer!
hE shoots like ray allen a bit .....
Since Ray Allen is younger wouldn't it be the other way around?
Proof GSW would get swept by MJ's Bulls. 3s work against other teams but not that Bulls D.
Htown kid
