The newspaper bots actually make sense to me. An item that's annoying to buy, is tradable but not on the GE can equal big money; at some point there will be some odd collector that will want to just buy stacks of the item.
Yeah same as broken gems, rotten food, burnt food, etc. Don't get why they want that stuff but you can make some decent extra cash if you bank junk and let it pile up
The newspaper bot probably sells the collection of news papers for a really sick profit because collectors will pay good money for huge stacks of items you can't buy at GE

@@craigbeade8654 ^ this. You're getting your account 110% unbanned if it absolutely was highjacking. Honestly easiest ban to get squashed. Getting banned for "botting" if you actually didn't do it is combared to this like 50 times more complicated to get unbanned
@@DarthBlazer. the whole fiasco with popular streamer Odablock getting perm banned by the anti cheating team for a supposed service that happened 2 years ago. Long story short, the theory that holds up well is that another streamer, Stella, who was dating Mod Trident (part of the anti cheating team) got Oda banned bc he started his own death matching CC so he was competing against her DM CC. This led people to believe that the anti cheating team or more specifically Mod Trident is corrupt.
It's actually not a bad idea to implement some sort of reward for busting bots. It couldn't be a gp reward though, since botters would make bot busting bots, to bust the bots they made. And then bust the bot busting bots.... Over and over again
This is why i always end up quitting. Doing 50-100kc of a boss, running past bots the whole time knowing they arent wasting their valuable life doing this makes me feel stupid for playing.
this made me not even wanna brag when i find dupes or glitches in games. by sharing I make people lose joy they have for the game. Better I just keep it on the low
For the priest in peril quest bots, they then go to Canafis rooftop agility course. As I was getting my outfit I would always see 5-6 on any world I was on doing the course.
I've also seen these Vetion bots. They all wear what is shown in the video, adamant kiteshield, Vigorra's chainmace, monk's robes, etc. They never get hit by vetion so they're not in combat and can log out instantly. If you can find them, you can hop to them to crash kills for really fast vetion KC!
jagex's bot busting system looks for similarities in skills and actions. its not often a max level account bots so the odds of it getting banned are probably a lot lower
The Carlyle Group doesn’t care about us, bots, or whatever. They see “number go up.” By the time the numbers are low enough for them to care, it’ll already be much too late.
Honestly i think for most bots that are just people using for personal use they'll look the other way, it'd cost them a lot of money banning everyone and I think a significant percentage of the player base bots, more than we realize. They really only ban bots if it's obvious gold farming and rwt
Perhaps Jagex should start an item ID system and when they ban a bot they also delete all the items that bot has created. I hate the thought of there being massive amounts of botted items in the economy reducing the value of what actual players create. Just banning a bot is clearly not sufficient because the botter can just make another one. This new system would greatly increase the value of issuing bans which take valuable manpower and resources to issue.
IDK how they'd implement that idea fairly. Imagine buying a whip off the G.E only to have it deleted & taken from you a few days later because it had been acquired & sold by a bot. I thought they already deleted items from the accounts that were banned anyway?
The bots buying newspapers could be mulling to a main who sells them to other players. People collect items that are tradable but not sold on the GE and sometimes pay a lot for them could easily turn 50 gp into anywhere from 750-2k per item. But they were probably also trying to get play time aswel.
Interesting that you talked at the end about the bots doing priest in peril quest, and probably be used for Canifis rooftop later, because I seen some on both w441 and w449 just yesterday 😮🤔🤔
I remember for ranging guild bots you could lure the archer guard guys down near the targets and the bots would occasionally attack the guards, then the guards autoretal to kill them
I won’t be surprised in the next few years if Jagexs approach to kill off bots is to just start selling their own botting software that gives you reduced xp rates
Once AI becomes good enough to completely mimic a human player (which we are very close to already) - it will be virtually impossible for Jagex to stop bots. People won't even know they're not playing with real people anymore.
@@husky3g there's already a script out there that uses machine learning AI with mouse data, though it isn't full proof, bans do stuff happen, I know people that got 1800 account levels, lasted over 3 months before being banned, most likely player reports.
@@husky3gthe issue is that when they know you’re a grown ass dude and you play 24/7 with small breaks every 3 hours, you’ll still get banned and they’ll know it’s a bot
Lots of players nowadays are maxed because of account service discord servers, wouldn't surprise me if they would buy private scripts for skilling as well
In all seriousness, their is maybe 30% of the player base that still cares about the game and the day to day grind. Most people who max don’t play the game to do anything other than afk or do a few boss runs. People aren’t attached to the game to really play it. Even sir pugger doesn’t have a maxed main… the content creators only play the game for incentives not because it’s actually a good game anymore.
the thing with vettion is that if you dont get hit by any of his lightning or shadow attacks you can log out while attacking him because you havnt really been attacked therefore your not in combat the only time you cant avoid the combat loggout is when his dogs come out and actually melee you
I started playing OSRS 2 months ago as a group Ironman. I came over from RS3 having maxed Ironman mode there. I find it extremely crazy the amount of bots I run into in OSRS in comparison to RS3. OSRS in my opinion needs a better bot busting system.
That was my first thought as well, but when he said the anti cheating team looked into it and it looked like all of them but one was botting for personal gain, I assumed they came to that conclusion by not seeing them trade or sell large quantities of these things, and also they probably see them actually playing the game on occasion and not just farming 24/7.
@@robertturley2974 I think they can also see from where an account is logging into the osrs servers which would be an easy way to see if an account is hacked
If you hop worlds for like 2 minutes in Edgeville bank, you're going to see A LOT of rc bots with almost identical stats, most of them have like low levels but have 50m or more exp in rc. I even saw one with 120m exp in rc.
There are bots at Undead Druids that are doing the same thing the F2p mining bots are doing. They log in, hit one druid, scan for a player, say something like "f*** off" or "cmon" then hop.
The newspaper bots may be selling them to a collector, or just run by a collector. Newspapers can be traded player to player I believe but cannot be traded on the GE.
The runecrafting botters are using a very simple auto clicker. There are no variables in the whole process.Banking at the crafting guild works because you teleport to the exact same spot every time. Same with teleporting to your house, then using the fairy ring, and then the short cuts. You walk the exact same path each time, so the screen remains fixed in one location, with the specific timed intervals between each click, rinse and repeat. Crafting guild bank combined with fairy ring in house can provide a multitude of methods for this simple style of botting, which can go undetected for a long time, provided you're smart about how often you do it. I did 99 fishing through karambwans this way, as well as 99 runecrafting through nature runes. Also some other skills like construction, prayer, cooking, smithing through blast furnace, agility
lol jagex has been able to detect things like that since ages ago. An exact number of clicks at an exact time interval, no random pauses or variation in click region? Not possible. And if there is, then it's a script not a simple auto clicker.
What I have learned from your videos is, bots tend to have Obsidian gear a lot. I saw someone in almost full Obsidian armor and the 3-tick sword, killing seagulls. His only stats were Defense and HP. Everything else was 1. Didn't say a thing. Port Sarim.
I'll be honest with you, many maxed capes in runescape are botted. I've been in many runescape discords where people openly admit to botting their maxed accounts. Meanwhile, I know many real players who have been banned for non game-breaking reasons, like 3rd party auotypers or trading with friends after a RWT warning. Honestly, bots are all runescape has left. Many of the real players moved on because jagex has failed miserably to reverse unfair bans unless that person is Odablock. At this point I think to get all the real players back, runescape would have to have another server reset. It has gotten out of control at this point, most max capes are botted while so many real players I know have quit due to Jagex's failed bot detection system or anti-cheat system screwing them over. Realistically speaking, a real player would never rebuild after being unfairly banned because who is to say it won't happen again? meanwhile, a botter will just bot a new account no problem. And that's why I say all we have are bots left, unfair bans effect whole friend groups not just the person with the account. I've seen whole clans go under over a few key players getting banned for shit reasons.. At this point tho, it's just not my problem anymore. Best of luck to Scapers who still play but to the rest of us, it was fun while it lasted!
swear I saw a couple more of those Vet'ion bots recently. Didn't think much of it but you showing them log out instantly reminded me I have seen that a couple times this past week
@@melanieh6536 no need to be a dev for this, they can easily hire some people to do this task. but they don't because this is the exact thing that keeps the game alive besides us old ppl enjoying the game we grew up with. they only ban the people that they know they would just create another account over and over so they spend more money buying bonds again.
Those newspapers are tradeable player-to-player, so there's a market for them similar to burnt food. I don't know the prices but newspapers probably go for at least a couple hundred gp each, if not more.
Why doesn't Jagex just do manual checks on the top 100 kc for all the bosses in the game? It cannot be that hard. If they wasted resources checking Oda's account shit from 2 years ago surely they could spend the resources to get actual bots banned. Imagine if the anti-cheating team took pride in what they did. They could go around and do exactly what you do and just look into tips. The game could be that much better because of them but nooooo, have to let the auto detect try and do it all. Which clearly isnt doing enough.
@@animefan7424 No its not, there are only so many bosses in the game. It would take a week for a team to clear the top 100. Even IF it was terribly inneficient and a time sink its irrelivent. Its their job and they should do it.
Blood runes can't really lose value because they can be sold infinitely at a fixed amount of 200gp, I'm someone who bots blood runes to pay for my membership lol
I used to break rock crab bots back in the day with a cannon and unicorn. Got mills and mills. All the rich noobs went to the side with hobgoblins so it was even easier that way.
I just maxed an account from level 3 to Max in just 4 months, they even have a bot that does all quests in the game. Uses human mouse movement so undetectable.
The boss wasn’t dead. As long as you don’t get hit by the magic pools/hellhounds you don’t count as being in combat since you never get hit. I just logged from pkers there until I finished Coll log.
I think it comes down to a solid percentage of players who bot via plugins and they either don't have anything made to detect plugins or don't wanna perma-ban all those players.
You’d think by now that massive gain, or high kill count consistently would flag on a inspection system for the team. Especially with higher end boss counts/content. Apparently not, though. It’s almost as if Jagex is turning blind eye to it, intentionally, sure ban one or two farms on the “anti cheating team” make it look. Like you care. But deep down, Jagex needs these bots, most likely for economy stability and/or player inflation. Both are kind of important. The rabbit hole can go deep.
I think you underestimate how many accounts would have to be checked daily. I agree that suspicious locations, statlines and gear setups are an easy giveaway, but there's also tons of bots that blend in much better, and you also have to consider that there's some really crazy players doing the weirdest things (I know a dude who isn't a botter but has made an account and just went to mlm till amethist and then went afk there for ages). Stuff like gotr, wintertodt and tempoross is also a big problem because these minigames became classic account starters for ironmen so legit players could have very lopsided stats in those locations. everybody knows they are botted to hell, but there's always a fair amount of legit players mixed in and you gotta figure out which's which...
Pugger I have a challenge for ya! I too, am not a good pker. I did build an *almost* maxed 1 def 60 att pure though, just to kill bots and pvmers for fun. There's two bot farms at revs and it took me DAYS to finally figure out the most effective ways to kill them(which actually included breaking 60 att) Their bot script auto teles, pray flicks, and insta logs FAST. There's a mid level 60's farm in red d hide at pyrefiends next to dark beasts in 29 wild, and mid level 80's directly north at demons/cyclops. All skulled. Challenge is, see how long it takes you to find a good method( they can tank too) AND you're not allowed to risk more than 2m. Protect item allowed. No claws, ags, or voidwaker.
Dude it’s not even hard to kill them… They pray based on ur main hand weapon… You have two options, either equip a staff and melee them of equip a melee or ranged weapon and mage them… best way is to wear occult neck, book of flames, fire surge while wearing a crossbow of d scim. It’s literally free gp
Also, nobody cares enough to report in F2P worlds, they're either casually playing because they can't play in Members world or they're roleplaying with each other at grand exchange. Easy for botters to just bot. Literally bots every grid on the game.
They could of bought levels or items, maybe quests/mini games . . . I was told alot of those accounts would later get "hacked" by the 3rd party who had the email and passwords used at the time. Plus loads of stolen accounts end up gaining random xp and levels before being recovered. One of my spares I got bored of (failed pure) ended up going from 3 def to 60 def. Never bought or botted myself but it was camping revs and I never go wild unless its safe pvp. . . I assumed it was just gold farming cuz my skilling was still pretty low.
This looks to be the 3rd current running mining bot at mlm, I'm reporting 10+ accounts a day between them. One of them has accounts with at least 106 fm from wintertodt and 2-3 bots per world. Another has waaaay higher stat's, almost base 80s with the odd exception of very low smithing and 1-2 per world
if it means gold becomes cheaper and items become cheaper then why not. I havent played in ages and dont think the numbers of RS is going up, if the bot farms were killed I feel like everything would skyrocket
I found a maxed account cutting mahogany trees on isle of soul and banking the logs at the soul wars bank and then running back. It takes like 5 minutes each way to walk there
Newspaper bot is actually a money maker. People collect them because they’re hard to get in huge quantities. Therefore they go for a lot of money. It’s a way for bots to make money, whilst grinding playtimez
It's weird y'all don't know this. But I'll say. I was a botter. I made a few grand back in the day. A "maxed account" farming is just good cloaking. For some reason people don't know how good bots are. I had bots that would do every quest. Some bots were so advanced they would auto level the stats required for those quests. So my method for making cash at the time were those black drags in that purple area where you climb down with a rope. (It's been years lol) But basically having a full build kinda account would be less suspicious and take longer to get banned. So you just set the account to make money profiting each skill one by one. And then if it gets to max you park it at drags until it gets banned. And while that account is going for maxed it's making profit off of wood or runes or herbs or slayer. Whatever it's doing. People don't realise how little each account means. They mean nothing. And I was a tiny tiny botter in a sea of big fish. And I had 20 running at once. There were guys running waaaaaaay more than 20 lol. I was running those 20 while playing wow or league on the side. One gets banned I just make a new one. And they even sell prebotted mid accounts for a few dollars. Even still I'd just make a few hundred mid accounts from scratch and just keep them on reserve everytime one biggie got banned. It was just running 20 accounts all of them with the goal of farming drags until they got there. And there were several times I had all 20 accounts at maxed for long periods. Never once was I "mass banned" or even had more than three or four banned in one go. It's all bullshit. Bots cannot be stopped. They are way more advanced than you think and they are way cheaper than you think. AND a two year old could get them running. They sell scripts for dummies. Literally just pay and click start. I believe the RFD barrows gloves full quest complete was like 75 dollars. This was...... Almost 10 years ago? I dunno what time is. I'm old. And have a real job 😂. But imagine how cheap a script is now. And everytime something starts getting people banned the scripts get reviewed and then updated. It's literally like yelp. Four or five bad reviews and no one will buy that script again. I have no doubt the scripts are so good by now that you couldn't even tell. You could probably add them and have a convo with them for weeks. All the while it's a chat gpt incl bot.
My conspiracy theory: Botting keeps Jagex financially alive, with the extra memberships coming in. Jagex themself doesn’t have a huge incentive to actually get rid of bots. Think of how much extra Irl dollars they get from botted accounts buying memberships. I would imagine 3 to 1 even maybe 4 to 1, of memberships are actually just botted accounts. Think about it most of these people don’t care about paying for membership as long as they can RWT more than the membership is worth. I’m not entirely sure OSRS could financially survive without the botted memberships. I used to bot for fun never RWTed. And got banned a bunch. And and I spent more money on botted memberships than on legit accounts. And I just botted because I like to program and thought it was fun. So i made harmless bots that would interact with players. So with guys that are doing this for a living making 10k-20k a month they might be spending 5k on memberships a month. And think about all of the smaller bot farms there’s 100s of 50+ bot farms in osrs. 5000 memberships if not 10,000 or 20,000 given these guys just buy new memberships once their old account gets banned. You’d think Jagex would just ban credit cards or debits that are buying 100s or 1000s of memberships a month… Not the individual accounts themself
lol the botters dont buy memberships for full money bro. why tf would they. they buy bonds with botted gp, or trade gp for membership codes. the ones buying tons of bonds on credit cards are rich people irl who dont like to buy gold and instead do it legit
Newspaper bot farm is probably selling news paper to collectors of non grand exchange items. FlippingOldschool just made a bit talking about the market for things like newspaper for couple k each
These are actually usually purchased accounts. I've met a few max cape holders that seemed clueless about game mechanics, like claiming they don't know where fire giants are in catacombs of kourend with 130 skotizo kills. I thought they were trolling at first, but I've run into it so many times it's unbelievable.
It blows me away that this goes undetected for so long by Jagex. You still can find flax lumby runners with 99 crafting in many worlds. But yet, lets ban the one or two ironmen that auto click ardy knights for a few lvs. smh
@SirPugger Those Newspaper Bots are most likely selling their newspapers to the Non- GE item collectors. They generally go for about 750-1000gp each, so they made about 159,000,000. This is just a guess though.
@SirPugger For some reason after binge watching your videos i feel the need to create an OSRS account for the sole purpose of bot hunting as it seems pretty lucrative too considering my account will be solely focused on hunting them and not chasing the max GP per hour mindset. What are your thoughts about that, is it worth it for a small amount of dopamine per bot kill?
You’d be your own anti-cheating team because Jagex doesn’t care about their game. If they gave a damn, there wouldn’t be a 80/20 split between real players/bots.
have the f2p bots in lummy swamp been covered yet? I just started building a f2p pker and theres more and more there each day. Today i finally found a world with none there, and all of a sudden about 7 logged in/walked over at once and started training. All CB level 51, same gear.
I love playing Devil's advocate, A lot of people in the comments seem upset with the fact that botters exist or go seemingly untouched by jagex for long periods of time. But Minnow bots keep the price of your sharks low, RC bots are why your cosmic runes dont cost 300 gp each, the master farmer bots are why certain seeds are as cheap as they are. If bot's didnt exist I'd say probably 90% of the most commonly traded items (Ore fish runes etc) would double or triple in price
Idk why jagex doesn't apply a real world identification confirmation like sending a Pic of your ID to make an account, at least on certain worlds, and monitor those worlds closely for bots then just let the fuckwad botters have the rest of the worlds
5:15 this bot farm is made to gather newspapers to sell off to neckbeards that collect items that arent tradeable on the grand exchange. Cute hustle (if ur not a robot)
The other day I ran into someone I assume was a mostly naked Bot in the wilderness around Combat Level 95. I was pking and so I snagged them as my 3rd Loot Key which was worth about 100k and included a White Dagger (P) which I found to be quite interesting
I was cooking with a guy yesterday at the rogues den and he kept randomly talking to me saying the same things like “ no burns for sale” and “cooking sharks” I responded to him because he had 90 mil cooking xp and he never responded and then 30 mins later would just repeat one of the lines. I asked him if he was a bot and he never responded to the question. I reported him he only had cooking xp on his account besides 8 fire making
The newspaper bot sells to the same group of people who buy burnt food. These people collect newspapers because they cannot be bought in bulk on the Grand Exchange
I guess I should stop wearing my rune full helm on my f2p UIM. One of those accounts could have been me because that's an item you can't buy. And the cape is for fashion.
That’s crazy I been seeing these accounts during my barrows runs on my ironman and didn’t think much of it bc it was max account but then I would see then everytime I log in they are heavily botted crazy how high level bots can go undetected for so long
The majority of bot are a script sold to the masses for either a one time fee or what was becoming more popular when I stopped was monthly fee. However, you could pay a scripter to make a custom script that (if they are reputable) will never release it to anyone else or create anything close to it. With a custom script you will likely never be caught unless someone happens to notice you. The last script I had made for training hcs would change home world's every few days and not one account was ever caught. I'm not encouraging botting but pretty soon here bots will be difficult to tell apart from real players. You've got ai writing botting scripts, ideas, ect. Also think about it if the newspaper cannot be purchased on the ge but can be traded they are probably botting the most profitable item in f2p. Item collections that are difficult to build are worth a mint. Check different forums and I'm sure you'll find an answer
man wtf i was wondering why people were placing cannons near the bank and it was your fault? i have entity hide on and public chat off just to be able to relax while runecrafting i guess i got my answer now

@@craigbeade8654 ^ this. You're getting your account 110% unbanned if it absolutely was highjacking. Honestly easiest ban to get squashed. Getting banned for "botting" if you actually didn't do it is combared to this like 50 times more complicated to get unbanned
That happened to me. It got hijacked and banned and when i appealed it got denied

If you can find them, you can hop to them to crash kills for really fast vetion KC!

jagex's bot busting system looks for similarities in skills and actions. its not often a max level account bots so the odds of it getting banned are probably a lot lower
True ❤
The Carlyle Group doesn’t care about us, bots, or whatever. They see “number go up.” By the time the numbers are low enough for them to care, it’ll already be much too late.
Honestly i think for most bots that are just people using for personal use they'll look the other way, it'd cost them a lot of money banning everyone and I think a significant percentage of the player base bots, more than we realize. They really only ban bots if it's obvious gold farming and rwt
True ❤😂
Collectors that buy obscure items is a great way for a bot to get playtime while also making pretty good money.
Newspaper is a tradeable item, so there’s gotta be some dork collectors out there buying huge stacks of them just like burnt or spoiled food

10 years of grinding tbh wish I new how to work a bot 😂😂😂😂
In all seriousness, their is maybe 30% of the player base that still cares about the game and the day to day grind. Most people who max don’t play the game to do anything other than afk or do a few boss runs. People aren’t attached to the game to really play it. Even sir pugger doesn’t have a maxed main… the content creators only play the game for incentives not because it’s actually a good game anymore.
the thing with vettion is that if you dont get hit by any of his lightning or shadow attacks you can log out while attacking him because you havnt really been attacked therefore your not in combat the only time you cant avoid the combat loggout is when his dogs come out and actually melee you

this. bots can auto logout, they sit in the top right corner of the screen and avoid combat
I started playing OSRS 2 months ago as a group Ironman. I came over from RS3 having maxed Ironman mode there. I find it extremely crazy the amount of bots I run into in OSRS in comparison to RS3. OSRS in my opinion needs a better bot busting system.
I mean, you know, it’s also possible that these people get their accounts hacked, and then they’re turned into bot accounts

No you didn’t
lol jagex has been able to detect things like that since ages ago.

Port Sarim.
Thank you that you are doing this! :)
Pugger is basically the OSRS detective, hahaha

Because that would be extremely inefficient and inaccurate?
He would have to ban half the player base
Some bots have autologout when a jmod hops on
@@melanieh6536 no need to be a dev for this, they can easily hire some people to do this task. but they don't because this is the exact thing that keeps the game alive besides us old ppl enjoying the game we grew up with. they only ban the people that they know they would just create another account over and over so they spend more money buying bonds again.
Just the motivation I needed to do a whole bunch of inefficient OG mind runecrafting.
Hold on, they never said they were banned? We’re the max mains banned??? It doesn’t sound like they were banned.
Mod trident only financially benefits from banning people who compete with his gf's gambling clan

The boss wasn’t dead. As long as you don’t get hit by the magic pools/hellhounds you don’t count as being in combat since you never get hit. I just logged from pkers there until I finished Coll log.
Newspapers actually sell for like 2k each or something in the collector market.
Imagine how good loot would be if bots weren't flooding the market with supply
On the collector market those news papers are roughly 115m around that region
Did you see the moonstone shard event in rs3 for auto banking for 14 days estimated 17-23 hrs to complete based on golden cape event
You don’t max an account out then bot. The accounts have been going undetected for probably years. They’ve just been caught
True 😅
Meh my buddy bought all the supplies required and is doing nothing but Vorkath. He isn't botting but going for as much kc as he can
There is a bot farm in priff just south of the house portal. When you get to close they switch worlds
SirPugger literally runs all these bots that he "busts"..
Awesome upload as always. Have you checked out the thieving bots at Vyres?
(It's been years lol)
But basically having a full build kinda account would be less suspicious and take longer to get banned.

I saw the bot that repeats all the curses and "Ffs really" at the GE, no clue why it was a thing, just sat there and spammed the same string of curses

"Why are Players Botting on Their MAXED Accounts?" The question is, why aren't you? Jagex literally wont stop you
I was cooking with a guy yesterday at the rogues den and he kept randomly talking to me saying the same things like “ no burns for sale” and “cooking sharks” I responded to him because he had 90 mil cooking xp and he never responded and then 30 mins later would just repeat one of the lines. I asked him if he was a bot and he never responded to the question. I reported him he only had cooking xp on his account besides 8 fire making
The newspaper bot sells to the same group of people who buy burnt food. These people collect newspapers because they cannot be bought in bulk on the Grand Exchange
With regards to newspapers can understand it considering the collectable as a non ge item now
I guess I should stop wearing my rune full helm on my f2p UIM. One of those accounts could have been me because that's an item you can't buy. And the cape is for fashion.
That’s crazy I been seeing these accounts during my barrows runs on my ironman and didn’t think much of it bc it was max account but then I would see then everytime I log in they are heavily botted crazy how high level bots can go undetected for so long
I play like I’m still 10 years old in 07 to confuse the bot detectors.
