300k bans a month is actually quite a lot, especially even for a team of 12 people doing 9 hour shifts a day whislt also being cautious enough to avoid masses of false bans.
Jagex/Matt K have stated on record it's 15-20% of players multiple times, but considering we see, in these videos, bot farms of 200+ bots, and there are countless others happening at the same time, I really do bet it's about 50-60%
My theory is Jagex is fully capable of handling the botting epidemic but chooses not to because the vast number of bot accounts inflates both their player count and the demand for bonds which directly influence their bottom line.
I think it goes even deeper than that. They're probably paid off to make certain bots/botfarms, to a degree, immune to ban. With how much these botters make, I don't see that being out of the realm of possibilities
Ah yes, those desert treasure 2 bots were sure well hidden - on the front page of the desert treasure 2 boss hiscores. I swear if you just look at hiscores you wouldn't even need to go hunt for the bots, nor would jagex - cause they are so hilariously bad at their job. They knew they were bought accounts not hacked, and they were bots, and they were on top page but still didn't ban them.

I think the methods to stop "selling gold" would be implemented fairly easily. The fact that OSRS gold stands up to REAL WORLD currency is something not to be simply overlooked.

Almost every high score page for anything is filled with bots. I recently found a broken vorkath bot with over 30k kc. He was casting home tele for 4 hours straight. I checked a week later, and he was banned. Maybe bc i put the video on twitter lol... but come on, how can they not tell?! I get they ban 200k accounts a month but how are the high scores top 10 pages like all bots!! faux was right about all of this.
because they dont want to ban them. Inflates player count, brings jagex more revenue and also keeps prices low for the casual players so they dont quit. Its a sad state for the game but dont see it changing any time soon. Jagex should at the least be banning the end game pvm bots regardless.

The botters pay for membership and that's all that matters. Rs3 dealt with the bot issue by making skilling trivial with all the mtx and quick methods.
Idk why people bother with BotScape (OSRS) anymore. Cool a grindy game where 60%+ of the pop is bots and every single activity and approach is dominated by bots. It makes a human that actually spends time on this feel really dumb.
The biggest downside of RuneScape has always been the grind. It's like the entire point of the game is a ridiculous monotonous grind that is click intensive. Most mmos are way less grindy and have better graphics and stories as well. Rs has never really known how to make up for that

First, I didn't help them get unbanned, they just appealed to Jagex, who unbanned them. They just wanted to tell me about it. Your comment doesn't make much sense. Imagine you're a bot farm owner. A few of your accounts get banned, you claim they're hacked in your appeal, then get them unbanned. No one has uncovered your bot farm publicly before. Now, your accounts are unbanned, and the first thing you do is email me telling me "hey I discovered a new bot farm that you should investigate because my account was hacked and turned into a bot...". Or is it more likely that someone was actually hacked and turned into a bot, appealed, recovered the account, and tipped me off since no one had found this bot farm before.
This is why i love being an ironman. Everything i own is farmed myself, and i have little care for the world of GE and Bot Farms. Singleplayer Mode with Random People you can talk to :)
Imagine jagex simply paid 1 guy to work 9-5 running around the game and camping spots like these and surfing the highscores to find bots to ban them… what a difference it would make. Even if they only made the effort to ban bots like these that are absolutely 10000% bots!!
It would make almost no difference at all. For every one bot someone is able to manually ban, 10 are created. The solution is not human manual banning, this isn’t the 90’s.
I really tried getting into this game again recently since I had not played since 2006 but the amount of bots I see in even F2P is insane. I’m glad I did not fully commit.
I mean it's always been like that? I started in 2018 and grinded f2p for like a year. There were all the bots we see today. There might be mor,, but the game and economy is relatively unaffected by it. Inf act I would argue if all bots were banned on a regular basis, more people would quit the game because then no one is collecting dumb shiet in mass like red spiders eggs, flax, ect.

I was doing the muspah like a month ago and got a venator shard and sold it for 10mil, I looked at the price recently and it was only 7.8mil. So these phantom muspah bots are really driving the price down like crazy.
How are there not automated systems to flag leaderboard accounts? If they can confirm names Pugger is sending why isnt it detected or why don't they try to find this. The average player is better at finding bots than Jagex employees how?
I know they're veeeerrrry slowly banning duke bots because ill go to bed like 2900 kc rank 250 or whatever then ill wake up at 2900 kc rank 248 so they managed to bust two. i could find a dozen and probably a hundred if it was actually my job to find them
Unlucky its hard for Jagex to catch bots. They only use the same exact gear, do the same exact click and do the same exact activities. Maybe one day they get banned. Also check priff upstairs for 200m theiving bots.
Stumbled across a massive soul wars bot farm this week. Both sides were full of bots with generic names, all wearing adamant sets or dragon legs/chainbody, with either dragon 2 handers or saradomin swords. Some would swap to a mithril crossbow. All around the level 97 combat. I managed to get into a game and looks like they were playing for draws, they werent capturing grave yards or anything. I fought what i thought was the owner of the bot farm as he was the only one in decent gear and fighting back. Wish I had got some screen shots now
Why don't they just hire him seriously? With his experience, insight, dedication, if was given proper tools to investigate and ban, would that not make a monumental difference in the game?

Not sure if you have already done this, but I'd love to see a video done on your theory of what osrs would be like if all bots were banned. What would happen to the economy, the meta, player base etc etc
theoretically not much would change. skilling would be way more profitable, cost of supplies will go up a lot as a lot of the supplies you can buy are botted so supply of those supps will go down and thus price rises, but again theoretically youd get more people willing to do the skilling to add to the supplies as well as pvm already dropping a load. so whilst it would probably cost you a bit more to buy all the prayer pots and food etc the stuff you get from bossing goes up a little bit and you wont notice that much. but skilling will be a lot nicer to do
The price of all materials would go up, and high level items would drop in price due to gp deflation. It would still be a slow process since banning the bots wouldn't erase all of the gp and items they've put into the game. Personally I think Jagex should add their own macros for skilling, because skilling in RuneScape should be treated as a chatroom with a background that appeases the autism, and it would give most players a reason not to bot when they have an alternative that works almost as well.
I just wanna say they are doing the best they can. I am roughly rank 1.7k in zilyana kc this has gradually climbed for me over the last few years. My kc is hardly 2500 so this means they are banning higher ranked players than me that are actually botting. It’s a tough process since all perm chain Bans literally need head of security to validate them. ❤
See that makes sense, if they can't perm chain ban easily then no wonder all the highscores are like this. no wonder bots run for months undetected. the risk of perm chain banning a real player is too high

My best opinion is to trust the process & voice your collective opinions. Game integrity is EVERYTHING wrong with a lot of things going on in the game to being with. Let’s hold players more accountable we’re all to blame anyway whether we directly or indirectly helped.
From my own experience, I have seen nothing done about even the most obvious bots. I have seen bots running for days and days unaffected, while I've been reporting them every hour and telling everyone I can to report them. Not only is there no bot detection at all, but they also don't investigate reports at all. I'm convinced that every time you hit report, it just deletes it to save server space.

The Clue Scroll bots are run by my brother. He has been running them in rotation for almost 1 year now. Lets just says neither he nor I work a real job thanks to the farm. P.s His ban rate is virtually non existent. And he stock piles the loot on 5 different mules and sells them off all at once, when he is getting ready to rotate over to a new farm method. He does that so that the price of the loot remains relatively high until he dumbs it all.

Why do that when Jagex does absolutely nothing to stop them regardless? You can see that they can do over 40k clue scrolls and still not be caught. Jagex refuses to implement even the most basic bit detection.

There are people in South America and in the Middle east who run some of these bot farms in order to make a living. in many of these cases you are essentially ruining someone else's real life income. While against the rules, it should be considered if it's right to shut them down

Jagex really doesnt care about bots, if not for a player base spike, theyre deffinately making money off of them.. they post fake numbers about hundreds of thousands of bans, but ive been tracking a bot farm at revs from lvl 50 combat, most of them are 90+ still botting revs, same accounts

I feel sorry for SirPugger & any other idiot that believes in those dumb stories. "Oh don't mind my 200m ranged xp and 1000 total level guys, this most definitely wasn't me, it was the hacker!" It's like these apes will believe anything and can't put 1 and 2 together. Even the botting subreddits are having a field day cuz these fools believe anything you tell them.
First, I didn't help them get unbanned, they just appealed to Jagex, who unbanned them. They just wanted to tell me about it. Your comment doesn't make much sense. Imagine you're a bot farm owner. A few of your accounts get banned, you claim they're hacked in your appeal, then get them unbanned. No one has uncovered your bot farm publicly before. Now, your accounts are unbanned, and the first thing you do is email me telling me "hey I discovered a new bot farm that you should investigate because my account was hacked and turned into a bot...". Or is it more likely that someone was actually hacked and turned into a bot, appealed, recovered the account, and tipped me off since no one had found this bot farm before.
This is why i love being an ironman. Everything i own is farmed myself, and i have little care for the world of GE and Bot Farms. Singleplayer Mode with Random People you can talk to :)
Imagine jagex simply paid 1 guy to work 9-5 running around the game and camping spots like these and surfing the highscores to find bots to ban them… what a difference it would make. Even if they only made the effort to ban bots like these that are absolutely 10000% bots!!
It would make almost no difference at all. For every one bot someone is able to manually ban, 10 are created. The solution is not human manual banning, this isn’t the 90’s.
I really tried getting into this game again recently since I had not played since 2006 but the amount of bots I see in even F2P is insane. I’m glad I did not fully commit.

I mean it's always been like that? I started in 2018 and grinded f2p for like a year. There were all the bots we see today. There might be mor,, but the game and economy is relatively unaffected by it. Inf act I would argue if all bots were banned on a regular basis, more people would quit the game because then no one is collecting dumb shiet in mass like red spiders eggs, flax, ect.

I was doing the muspah like a month ago and got a venator shard and sold it for 10mil, I looked at the price recently and it was only 7.8mil. So these phantom muspah bots are really driving the price down like crazy.

I know they're veeeerrrry slowly banning duke bots because ill go to bed like 2900 kc rank 250 or whatever then ill wake up at 2900 kc rank 248 so they managed to bust two. i could find a dozen and probably a hundred if it was actually my job to find them

Stumbled across a massive soul wars bot farm this week.
Both sides were full of bots with generic names, all wearing adamant sets or dragon legs/chainbody, with either dragon 2 handers or saradomin swords. Some would swap to a mithril crossbow. All around the level 97 combat.
I managed to get into a game and looks like they were playing for draws, they werent capturing grave yards or anything. I fought what i thought was the owner of the bot farm as he was the only one in decent gear and fighting back.

Not sure if you have already done this, but I'd love to see a video done on your theory of what osrs would be like if all bots were banned. What would happen to the economy, the meta, player base etc etc
theoretically not much would change. skilling would be way more profitable, cost of supplies will go up a lot as a lot of the supplies you can buy are botted so supply of those supps will go down and thus price rises, but again theoretically youd get more people willing to do the skilling to add to the supplies as well as pvm already dropping a load. so whilst it would probably cost you a bit more to buy all the prayer pots and food etc the stuff you get from bossing goes up a little bit and you wont notice that much. but skilling will be a lot nicer to do
The price of all materials would go up, and high level items would drop in price due to gp deflation. It would still be a slow process since banning the bots wouldn't erase all of the gp and items they've put into the game.
Personally I think Jagex should add their own macros for skilling, because skilling in RuneScape should be treated as a chatroom with a background that appeases the autism, and it would give most players a reason not to bot when they have an alternative that works almost as well.

I just wanna say they are doing the best they can. I am roughly rank 1.7k in zilyana kc this has gradually climbed for me over the last few years. My kc is hardly 2500 so this means they are banning higher ranked players than me that are actually botting. It’s a tough process since all perm chain Bans literally need head of security to validate them. ❤
See that makes sense, if they can't perm chain ban easily then no wonder all the highscores are like this. no wonder bots run for months undetected. the risk of perm chain banning a real player is too high
@@fujster yes and we have actually seen the effects of it. Especially with the influx of players sending appeals especially via Reddit. My best opinion is to trust the process & voice your collective opinions. Game integrity is EVERYTHING wrong with a lot of things going on in the game to being with. Let’s hold players more accountable we’re all to blame anyway whether we directly or indirectly helped.
From my own experience, I have seen nothing done about even the most obvious bots. I have seen bots running for days and days unaffected, while I've been reporting them every hour and telling everyone I can to report them. Not only is there no bot detection at all, but they also don't investigate reports at all. I'm convinced that every time you hit report, it just deletes it to save server space.
@@AceGamingProductions a lot of these botters have scripts running their scripts, where as JAGEX are still foot pedaling all of the finalizations. Just saying it’s gonna take time, clearly. Everything is community driven so their focus is always going to be there. As I said game integrity is everything & everyone needs to jump on that same boat. A lot of our friends may use or have used some form of botting we all need to take accountability & be vigilant together. Otherwise they’ll do what they want with the game & eventually we’ll just stop playing. Guess you didn’t understand my comment the first time.

The Clue Scroll bots are run by my brother. He has been running them in rotation for almost 1 year now. Lets just says neither he nor I work a real job thanks to the farm.
P.s His ban rate is virtually non existent. And he stock piles the loot on 5 different mules and sells them off all at once, when he is getting ready to rotate over to a new farm method. He does that so that the price of the loot remains relatively high until he dumbs it all.

i have recently seen bots farming general Graardor with blessed gear and rune crossbow, it was so obvious when they exactly do same moves and attacking from same squares without any fails
If the botters are able to bot every boss, skill, clue, minigame in the game... Why don't they just switch it up more? Feels like just botting a different thing each day would make pretty much all bots undetectable.
Why do that when Jagex does absolutely nothing to stop them regardless? You can see that they can do over 40k clue scrolls and still not be caught. Jagex refuses to implement even the most basic bit detection.

Cancelled my membership for the past 3 or even 4 years due to Jagex backhanding with vennies. Removing ALL vennies from the rev cave pays for the HCIM's bond. Ecosystem of OSRS is going to crash haaard in the next 5 years.
Since Jagex always confirms players are botting why aren't they just checking players on highscores like SirPugger does? Because they don't give a shit about the bots? Bots = players, they pay for member = profit for Jagex. They can end botting whenever they want to but too greedy not to. I can't play a game like that.
With AI and cloudflare there are 100% techniques to detect bots just by tracking movement of mouse, or clicking patterns....
Not really sure where to report this in a meaningful place so ill just put it here, 2 thieving bots with a combined 252 million thieving xp thieving from Vallessia von Pitt on world 356, named trashcan 11 and 200m 1 at a, theyve been logged in like 17 hours thieving today alone
not challenging what you're doing. cuz you are improving the average players experience. And I'm sure you've thought of this. There are people in South America and in the Middle east who run some of these bot farms in order to make a living. in many of these cases you are essentially ruining someone else's real life income. While against the rules, it should be considered if it's right to shut them down

It's crazy how easy busting these top botters is...Jagex's own highscore is practically a bot tracker. The bots basically put themselves onto a registry to be investigated and yet nothing happens.

I don't understand you ppl , why you are paying and playing a game that is full of bots that can't be terminated (jagex doesn't want to take action on this matter) because they make more money to the company than the real players. quit that old version and play RS3 or something else.
I just find it fascinating that jagex don’t ban these bots but when my account was hacked and rwt was committed possibly from botting etc I was left with a permanent ban and no way to appeal it.. makes you wonder why players still play.. spend years and large amounts of real money on membership and buying bonds to be instantly dismissed without even a care to have a say dispute etc..

80% bots and 20% real players. watch the player count when the game updates. rests at 25-30k players for 20mins then spikes up to 100k
Accounts "where purchased" .... more likely hacked then sold to someone else, no way peoeple are selling some of these accounts like no one gets 1700+ total and maxes a few combat stats to sell, and if you own no way you sell it cause no one wants to get 99 thieving twice.

Jagex really doesnt care about bots, if not for a player base spike, theyre deffinately making money off of them.. they post fake numbers about hundreds of thousands of bans, but ive been tracking a bot farm at revs from lvl 50 combat, most of them are 90+ still botting revs, same accounts
Lots of vork bots come through Lunar Isle bank. I've seen some with 45,000+ kc.
