    LISTEEEEN!! I don’t even like porridge, but I made this for my daughter and sis couldn’t even talk to how she gulp it down fast 😂. She said this was the best porridge I’ve ever made 🥳. Even I had a bowl and couldn’t believe how nice it was🙈 Thanks Jerene!

      Oh, I didn’t use coconut milk, but substituted vanilla Lasco instead 😋

    Thanks, Jenene. It's the first time I saw pimento seeds being added , but I added pimento seeds in almost everything. It wasn't a hard sell for me. I always blend the cornmeal with coconut milk and / or cow's milk instead of water. The coconut milk provides a nice flavor and smell.
    Have a great day.

    I followed your instructions and the recipe in your description box, and the cornmeal porridge was lovely.
    It was just like how my Jamaican mum made it when I was little 🥰
    Thank you so much, Jerene 🌟

    I’ve never made cornmeal porridge before and I tried Jerene’s recipe! Adding the pimento/allspice added a nice taste (I almost didn’t add it ). Porridge came out so good. This is now my go to recipe for cornmeal porridge!! Thanks for this video and recipe

    When I saw you added the pimento seeds to your hominy corn porridge I was like "absolutely not" 😂. Then I decided to give it a try when I made it again and it was such a great addition. I just made cornmeal porridge and added a few seeds to it as well and again, great addition. Gives it a nice and unique flavor. Thanks for sharing 😊🥰❤️

    Definitely gonna try it with the pimento grains next time. I've never seen that before. Will come back and let you know how it turns out. 😉

      Yeah it really adds a subtle flavour. I've tried the ground allspice and I definitely prefer to use them whole

    I made this for dinner and I used a little coconut milk, oat milk, evaporated milk, condensed milk and brown sugar. Just a little bit of each and it's so delish! But where did you get the fresh nutmeg from? I used the one in the bottle because that's what I had 😢

    I tried blending my medium ground cornmeal but still feel the grain which doesn't really break down. It's not a lot but I wonder if this was cause the porridge to taste differently and not be smooth. I'm using an organic brand since I have a very sensitive stomach. Any suggestions?

    • @JerenesEats
      @JerenesEats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You'll still feel a little grainy texture. It should not feel as smooth as corn flour

    • @Luvisbeautiful2

      @@JerenesEats okay so I decided to use a coffee grinder and it did the trick better than a blender. Thank you! And it came out so good my husband ate twice and doesn't like cornmeal 😁

    Can I use corn flour? Is that the same thing as finally ground cornmeal, because it looks just like the corn flour I have in my cabinet.

    • @JerenesEats
      @JerenesEats  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No I dont recommend using the cornflour. That would be way too refined.

    Question what does the pimento grain do as far as taste

    • @JerenesEats
      @JerenesEats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I love the flavour and it is not overpowering. You may leave it out or use a tiny bit if you're cautious 😄
