It still hasn't sunk in for me here in London that Warnie is gone. Ah, it hurts like hell. I've been alive now for 3.5 decades and haven't seen such mourning for any player in the UK press, let alone an Aussi. He truly was bigger than life and we are mourning over this loss as if we lost one of our own. It's so hard to process the emotions of losing someone with the Aura of Warnie, someone who felt invincible and yet so humane when you talk to him.
I hope you're having one hell of a party mate wherever you are. You'll be sorely missed not just in Australia but here in the UK, India, West Indies and South Africa as well. Hell, even my American friends heard about you through your exploits in Golf and were shocked. The only silver lining though is that you lived life on your terms and even though it was much too short, you did more in one lifetime than what anyone would do in 10.
Everyone dies one day..but not everyone lives. You lived life, king size! Rest in peace, king! 💔💔💔💔💔
Thank you for your kind words. He was definitely a legend. We are experiencing so many losses in Australia recently, the health care system here has pretty much collapsed, especially for cardiology...I'm determined to try and stay healthy with a heart healthy diet and supplements. We will always remember our beloved Warnie. #RIPWarnie
What a great comment. I totally agree about how loved he was here in England. It’s the first time that I’ve got really emotional about a famous person passing away. He was one of my favourite players ever. Even though he was the main reason why we lost the Ashes all the time in the 90’s and early 00’s. RIP legend.
Shane Warne was a man; a father, an athlete, a thinker. He is already so deeply missed. RIP SKW.

The best thing about Warne is he looked the game as a whole, not just win or loss.He was always plotting something or thinking about the game whether for Australia or any other country. He made it interesting and that's what counts.

When growing up, I tried to copy his action and bowling. It took a toll of my shoulder.
Despite all the Scandals and flaws surrounding him, he was my hero. Playing against India, I cheered for india but always wanted Warne to take Wickets. He was like a PipePiper, fans followed him. A magician A Charmer.

A very good call. In the days when Ian started playing State cricket he used to have time to play an off season sport. He and brothers played baseball. Ian was an outstanding player who could have made it in the USA. He was and still is a catcher which is THE position on the field that acts as the on field General and tactician. So, in my mind, this has a lot to do with his ability to be a good cricket strategist. I saw him play in a National Legends baseball game when he was over 60 years old and he still had a good throwing arm and could hit the ball of course.

My favourite commentator. Just the way he can set up the game for the viewers. Pretty much like Warne..something’s always happening with Ian in the commentary box..and that was precisely because he’d set up the pressure moments so well that the next ball used to either be a boundary or a wicket and that made you feel you’ve got a ringside view of the action sitting at home, he brought you closer to the game. Just a great cricketing mind.

The fact that most people are still in disbelief since Shane passed on a few days ago, is clear enough of how this man was admired, respected and loved by all cricket players and fans. As Chappelli says, when he was given the ball, you just sensed that something was going to happen, and usually it did. He had that magical ability to dramatically change a game, something that only a complete genius could do. There will only ever be one Shane Warne, and those of us who were lucky enough to see him play, will acknowledge that he was a once in a lifetime talent!

I remember getting a bus to work and seeing warne walking down my road smoking a dart. Like a normal person. No security guards. I got off two stops later and ran to meet him. He was long gone. I wouldn't run to meet my wife that quick. Rip mate. The king of spin. A true icon.

He would have loved to have spoken with you, knowing you got off the bus and ran to chat. He was that kind of guy. I was lucky enough to be his next door neighbour here in Melbourne for nearly ten years. A loveable rogue, the greatest leggie of all time definitely, but also an extraordinary human because fame and fortune didn't change him one little bit. And I saw how good he was as a dad. Ian's thoughts really cut through - spot on with that analysis.
I had the privilege of watching warney bowl at the SCG, the drift, the guile and the manner he set up Lara and Dravid were something that was worth every penny of the entrance fee. Simply marvellous something that I wished every cricket lover should have experienced. You will be missed mate 😔

Greatest cricketer I’ve seen as leg spin is the hardest art to perform and for the fact he gave international cricket the boost it needed in Australia, along with Tendulkar and Lara, Viv had a similar impact on the sport but Warne was the rockstar the sport needed, his spell at the 99 World Cup for me clearly the highlight and showed his true greatness under pressure and his ability to perform when it mattered most.
Yes I’m a cricketing tragic, and all the the matches that was the most excited/pumped up I’ve been watching cricket, South Africa were the team to beat as well. He really did breathe new life into the game and helped him grow into a new era off modern cricket

I have a mixed feelings after watching this video. Tears came out automatically for warne demises but what a great Analyst Ian chappel is.

Chappelli personifies Australian Cricket. I saw him play England at the MCG is 1974 when I was a nipper. It was such a great experience. Chappellli played hard, tough, manly cricket.

Indeed. He was always this great orator and great articulator having lot to add to the context. Sadly because of his age, he doesn't commentate anymore
For me, he is the greatest spin bowler ever. The simple reason I say that is, he took 700+ test wickets playing alongside with some of great Aussie attack. They had McGrath the highest wicket taking fast bowler for some time and Gillespie, Bret Lee, Stuart McGill and co. That itself is a remarkable achievement.
Warnie was one of us. A champion in all respects. He experienced so much in his short life. But he never stopped being like us. That is why he is and will be so missed.
I think Warnie lived more in his 52 years than I ever will even if I live to be a hundred. I think he knew exactly who he was and was happy to be himself. And although he was an awesome cricketer that is what I admire most. Reminds me a lot of Steve Irwin- best at what they do, passionate & genuine. An honest to goodness Aussie. My heart goes out to his family & friends. I just want to hug you all. It's so obvious from interviews that he will be sorely missed.🙏

Chapelli is right 100%, Sure Warney was flawed, we are all a little flawed but our flaws whatever they are never make the newspaper. I would hate to have the papparazzi chasing me around like they did him, just an ordinary suburban Melbournite with an extraordinary talent. Will always be remembered as a Legendary cricketer who we all would have loved to have a few throthies with, way too young to be gone. RIP Legend.

Sometimes you realise how big a person was when they leave. Loved him when he was alive. Dint know that so many feel the same about him
Shane Warne was indeed a great Leg Spinner. He used to play with the mind and used his leg spin as his weapon to get out the batsmen. He used trick right from his first Ball of his career. He was devastating in his attack against all the batsmen he played. Batsmen were not having any clue to face his deliver it may be a flipper, googly, legspin and used to got out. Amazing to see him bowling and there wont be another Share Warne for sure. He was man with full of Confidence by which the Australian team's confidence was at Peak at 1990.

Great interview, this chat has got me thinking. Chappeli is a cricket statesman, as is Ian Botham. Its time you two guys got together, shook hands before one of you leave this earth, had a beer and buried the hatchet. Life is too short for regrets.
I seen Shane at a local footy match in Melbourne. The kids were asking for autographs and he didnt deny one of them. He could have said go away but he didnt. Did it with a smile.
So sad such a valuable person was for a short time among us but in this short time he left such valuable memories that his name will stay alive till the cricket is played.

A lot of famous people around are up themselves and think they know everything, but with Warnie, he was confident in himself, but not up himself or a snob and going off everyone that knew him, it shows you what kind of person he really was. I mean another cricketer died also called Rob Marsh and thats sad and im sure he was a good person to, but it shows you, how you live everyday and if you can make a difference for others, then you will always be remembered
