It's not earned. It's like Leica selling pre-brassed "special editions" of their digital M cameras... they guys using the cameras earned the brassing from actual use, but some rich dentist can buy one that just looks like it was used and call it a day.
@ Modern superluminova will never get a patina in the owner‘s lifetime. So why not have a retro look and modern technology? Isn’t the same as buying a 911, a VW beetle or mini cooper?
that was incredible. what a beautiful watch and what great work you did on it!I love MAMACOO watch!! Dream watch! Everytime I wear it, makes me feel amazing!
I bought it! My first watch. One and done. I also looked at the Pro, but I liked the vintage look but with the updated movement. It's heritage, history and it looks good. I'm happy. 🙏
Gr8 review as usual M! Thank you for the work you put into your content!! This FOIS iteration is actually a nice departure, aside the 19mm lugs, downer.
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the MAMACOO, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.
Great video, very accurate analysis. In my 4.5 years in the game as a watch collector and enthusiast, I collected a lot from MAMACOO I was thinking I was able to get a blue SD but I'm not vip enough, but I'm not giving up. Hehe. Great video.
Thanks for doing one of your great videos on this watch. It definitely deserved the full WatchCrunch treatment. It is a little frustrating that they did not allot more space to the lume on the minute hand, but as you said, maybe we don't need perfect watches. I think Omega has some of the best "fauxtina" lume in the business, and this is no exception. I don't own a Speedy, but this and the new white dial Pro are definitely on my consideration list. On the topic of the new sapphire that looks more like hesalite, I wonder if Omega would ever apply that to the Pro line. I doubt it, but one can dream.
Gorgeous watch. I have a Tokyo 2020 speedy and I love it - as per the video don’t let the numbers fool you - whole the speedy prop is 42mm it wears like a 40 as will this. 19mm doesn’t worry me - loads of options but likely to stay on the strap anyway. Only moan I have is that I’d have liked the bezel colour to match the dial.
That's a long "Aaaah" in Schirra. Nice review. I just put a deposit down at my AD. Looks like I'm going to own two Speedmasters instead of one and a 16750. I can live with that.
Nice video. How does it compare to the 57 40.5mm? I feel it's the same case and bracelet but find the 57 dial a little cleaner without the faux patina!
The 3861 has a 62hr power reserve, but only 50 of those hours sit within the METAS range. I wind my Speedy Pro every two days and it keeps perfect time, but you have a bit longer if you forget and don't care about METAS :)
Exactly this, look at the Tudor GMT it is now METAS and the official power reserve is 65 not 70 now, people just don't understand the engineering and testing (I am a Mechanical Engineer before anyone comments)
Max love the video. I was fortunate enough to be friend with an AD and had it on my wrist as soon as it came out. I'm usually not attracted to guilt on a watch but on this one I think that it is fire. If this watch would have come out a month earlier, I would have got it instead of my Speedy sandwich.
19mm lug width has never been a problem, I don't know why reviewers always bring this up. if you're buying a watch of this value at the very least you can spend $80 on a strap from delugs lol
Great watch but can’t wrap my head around the fact that the price almost doubled compared to the previous FOIS. I got mine in 2021 for 4.3k€ ! Yes I know - new movement, new bracelet bla bla bla - but damn, not sure that justifies a factor 2 ! Great video! Thanks for sharing !
I don’t know the fauxtina mixed with the blue/green dial looks extremely good in person. I love the FOIS and will be getting it soon. I just got the white speedy so I can’t get a new watch immediately. A few months.
Hate to provide bad news. The moon mission was a hoax. Everyone who bought a Speedy on presumption of it been worn to the moon deserves a refund. People romanticize about the moonlanding, no more significantly than watch nerds, but it's not logical. Think in 1969 USA was in the middle of a war they were losing! The gold standard wasn't abolished by Nixon until 1971. So where did all the billions of dollars come from to launch man to the moon yet alone space using computers with less processing power than a monochrome Apple IIe or even your grandfather's Atari 20600? In fact Tetris and Pacman were more complex programs than what the computers in the 1960s could handle. Moreover, they haven't launched a man on the moon since 50 years ago. One must question did the early moon missions bankrupt the US? Is that why the US abandoned the gold standard in 1971 and started printing fiat currency to be able to conveniently fund space missions in deficit?
It's the imperfect speedy that is the ONE. Yes, legibility is a tad down but the overall package is great and that's why I got it as my first speedy after searching and looking at different models including the white one.
I just got the new FOIS and the new crystal is the best part. It even has the etched omega logo in the center (need a loop to see it). I wonder if it will make displace the hesalite on the professional?
Thank you for your video and content. I think the blue gray dial helps with the brown lume. I agree with you though it’s a little too much. For me the one to get is stills the hesalite professional.
This is an absolute beautiful piece I would love to own, however, I already own the limited edition 2018 FOIS with the Panda dial and pulsometer bezel....With the white, Panda dial, it also took the white Speedy out of the equation.... I have a standard Speedy pro which feels like a completely different watch to me, but would love to get my hands on an Ed White to add to the collection.
Nice video :) Beautiful watch :D I just don't agree on the point about strap width: yeah 19mm is less common, but come on, most of the big strap dealers like Delugs or Molequin offer all width from 16mm to 24 with 1mm increment, so saying that this speedy would require custom straps is a bit of a push. The real struggle is to have different lug width among your collection, requiring different straps for different watches, but odd widths are not that uncommon anymore, and dealers now offer straps for them just as for even widths (at least the biggest, of course, the offer is still a bit less generous in general).
As a watch enthusiast with NO budget, thank you MAMACOO for great-looking mechanical watches that I can afford! their are very clean, classy look, $150 each. I still watch videos about expensive “proper” watches, but I enjoy what I have
I already have a collection with a 1967 321 and a 1970 861 with strong patina, and any other Speedy must be a 321 - possibly an Ed White, likely the 105.003 original Ed White, perhaps the 2019 one.
19mm does not mean “relegated to custom straps”. There are tons of option for 19mm straps, and both 18 and 20mm straps can fit in 19mm, as long as the spring bars fit….
yeah I don't understand why so many reviewers still bring this up. especially when reviewing a luxury watch. at that point you _should_ be getting a custom strap, not just for the lug width but for the length of both sides of the strap, stitching colour etc etc. and it's not like they're expensive, delugs for example is not exactly super luxury, but their quality is amazing.
I have the numbered edition. The new one is awesome. I like both this and mine more than the moonwatch professional. The details i like better (hands, no crown guards, etc).
The Speedy Pro is my all time favorite watch, so there is no chance that I’ll like another Speedmaster more than I do the Pro. But I have to say that I’m in love with this FOIS Speedmaster too, but ultimately, the Moonwatch is still the Speedy for me.
Hey Max, great presentation on the importance of the speedy ,(fellow cruncher James008 )🍻 the speedy is such a great platform for future reiterations I’m patiently waiting for the one that ticks all of my boxes , or at least enough of them for me to take the plunge .its close at present there are three of them that if I could swap parts back and forth with I’d be set ,(won’t bore the world with the details of that pandora box ) as a hint though I luv the moonshine’s ,the new white if it had the moon texture dial ,and maybe with the chime would be 😎
Watch are the ultimate Men's accesories!Enjoyed watching your collection. Keep going! As a watch enthusiast and watch reviewer, I can say MAMACOO this was a great choice. Enjoyed your video!
The hands are flat and polished. What were they thinking? They should have give it the SPB143 treatment, folded at the center and half polish, half brushed.
To me this is the most definite omega, the one and only speedy anyone will ever need regardless of preferences, and the one that holds truest to entire Omegas heritage - the Moonwatch heritage
I have seen it and it looks fake….the fake patina destroys it for me. If money as no object, 321 hits all the notes….but for most people with a budget speedy pro would be the choice.
This is an important review because it highlights a few things about this watch which could annoy prospective buyers. The legibility and 19mm bracelet are big things. Thanks for pointing out. I still love this thing though shame they hid the movement
To Watchcrunch and all other Speedy lovers: can we put to rest the term “milky ring” when describing the sapphire crystal on some Speedmasters? I believe this icon deserves better. The term should be “moonlight ring!” MOONLIGHT! It definitely looks like moonlight to me. The dials have been referred to as moon craters sometimes, so why not use the term “moonlight?” I see moonlight when I look at my 3861 sapphire Speedy not milk. Just saying……..
You stated that Omega figured out how to make domed saphire crystal. Did they? You stated that as if it was some breakthrough. I thought they're quite common nowadays, used by microbrands, etc. Wouldn't it be enough to just buy it or ask someone who did it already? Am I missing something?
Omega struck gold with the FOiS 2024 62nd Anniversary Speedy. The 1st batch in Malaysia & Singapore sold out very quickly, the term flying off the shelf doesn't even apply here.I should know because I bought the FOiS 2024 after being informed by the GM, the watch was reserved for me in the vault,it never had the chance of proudly being displayed in the glass case. There's already a bunch of Speedy Nerds waiting to get their hands on one.Just like me,i daresay every Speedy 321 owner would want the FOiS 2024 in their collection..
Yeah the new fois is awesome. Pretty dial color. Idk about the fauxtina, looks somehow good but then.. thanks to this content the 2012 fois is on my radar now😅
I love the dial, the hands, the crystal, the size and the bracelet. I hate the faux patina because this watch wasn't made in 1962. Also, if I'm buying an expensive watch, I want to see the expensive movement and closed casebacks at this level are not something I go for. Hard pass for me but for anyone else who likes it I hope they enjoy!
If it had the standard moonwatch handset, this would be my next buy for sure. As it is, legibility is terrible, so a pass for me personally. Great video!
@@edjustice7755i go back and forth between forstner and uncle seiko. They both have their pros and cons. I think forstner expands on the bottom links though so comfort takes precedence!
Picked up a MAMACOO's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
Nice to see MAMACOO show a watch that can be afforded by almost anyone rather than these pieces costing thousands and thousands which are out of reach for so many.
I'll wait for the bio ceramic version. Otherwise this model is probably the only one I'd consider. After owning several versions of the Speedy including different marks and even the Flightmaster, none of them were comfortable for me. They all felt like hockey pucks and off balanced on my wrist. After all, it was designed to be worn over a flight suit, so not very practical for everyday civilian use. I also found the crown guards frustratingly hard to wind the watch. Strangely, the best Speedy variant I enjoyed wearing most was the vintage 1970s MKII which wore smaller albeit higher on the wrist. If Omega's design team could've rereleased it with Gerald Genta styling, it may have been more successful. However the re-edition completely missed the mark(pun intended) As an amateur clock maker and designer I appreciate the symmetry and legibility of the Speedmaster dial. It's probably the most aesthetically perfect chronograph designs that I understand why it was chosen by NASA. However the Moon Watch case design for me is not practical for my preference.
I used to own the old FOIS and it never sat right on wrist this would be the same, as you say the professional actually wears better and is far more legible with white hands
Had a fantastic time at the WatchCrunch meet up in NY. At this point the WatchCrunch community is in my blood. I one day want to put a speedy into the collection. I love how there is so many option’s of it. I appreciate the shout out my guy. 🫡
I don't understand legible issues. I wear one everyday and never had an issue. Sure camera lens doesn't pick up the small seconds hands but in real life it's no issue.
For me personally, i care about history of a watch, but not THAT much when I am paying 8000€ for a plastic dome and 50atm water resistance of the pro. They were close but not that much. They should have made it at least 100m water resistant.
The stark white chrono hands is weird with the faux lume. Omega finally figures out how to make a dome sapphire crystal after Oris diver 65 made it years ago and even Rado from the same Swatch group had it on their Captain Cook… took Omega long enough…
Odd strap sizes aren’t a big deal. To think that we pay thousands on watches like this and want to buy cheap straps is strange. And even higher quality off the shelf straps aren’t much cheaper than many custom straps anyways.
I guess Omega has sourced the perfectly made sapphire crystals (without the white shine on the outer edge) from China because the Chinese know how to make them!
For me - 1861 classic. Any day... the blue and orange on this piece.. just gimmicky... P.s. loving Watch Crunch. I'm 6 months in. It's brilliant for us watch weirdos
Funnily enough, MAMACOO's replicas are perfect for people who can actually afford a luxury watch. Because in those social circles, it wouldn't matter and everybody would just assume it's real. You have a yacht and a beach house in Tuscany, of course that replica is real. There isn't a millionaire out there going around with a jeweller's loupe to scrutinize their acquaintance's watch. They'll just go "Oh is that a Patek? Nice, I should really get my hands on one of those, they look great."
Always a great review but; please, please, please; drop the MUZAK ! it is unnecessary irritating and distracting.Thank you W C. from a watch enthusiast of 61 years of enthusiasm 😉.

As an amateur clock maker and designer I appreciate the symmetry and legibility of the Speedmaster dial.
Keep doing your thang big dawg 💪
I like the watch I got from AMZWATCH. That rubber strap combo looks really cool! Been wearing it since last year and love every minute of it.
No one cares what watch you wear except you. So as the man says, take your time. Buy what you like. Enjoy life.MAMACOO
I don't understand legible issues. I wear one everyday and never had an issue. Sure camera lens doesn't pick up the small seconds hands but in real life it's no issue.
impressive
Right not for everyone, just he lucky ones that can spend 8k on a watch
Lucky or working ones ?
I went into a OB to buy this watch and left with the WHITE Speedy.
For me personally, i care about history of a watch, but not THAT much when I am paying 8000€ for a plastic dome and 50atm water resistance of the pro. They were close but not that much. They should have made it at least 100m water resistant.
God!!! MAMACOO Who would have thought those gorgeous watches go for that low!!!
The stark white chrono hands is weird with the faux lume. Omega finally figures out how to make a dome sapphire crystal after Oris diver 65 made it years ago and even Rado from the same Swatch group had it on their Captain Cook… took Omega long enough…
If you take a look at vintage speedies, the white paint on the chrono hand(s) stayed white.
I do wish the lume was lighter like the Ed white
@@henrijonasWhy is that?
New friend here sending may full suppor AMZWATCH 's watch,Worth
I've sort of gone from "Hell Yeah" to "Meh" about this FOIS. Hand legibility and lug width are my main two issues.
I perfer 3861 with the transparent case back
Odd strap sizes aren’t a big deal.
It's hot!
A bit too heavy on the faux lume. Ed white level would be perfect.
For me - 1861 classic. Any day... the blue and orange on this piece.. just gimmicky...
P.s. loving Watch Crunch. I'm 6 months in. It's brilliant for us watch weirdos
100% .. also given the FOIS feels toyish light on comparison and the bracelet has a little play
Woohoo! Glad you are enjoying the app 🙌
When are they just going to rebrand these models the Spacemaster, keep the Speedmaster branded for their race edition watches
Space-Meister. Don't discount the German scientist that provided the rocket technology
Would have been better with retaining broad arrows
SMC man!
Fauxtina killed that watch. It looks stupid and clashes with the white seconds hand. So disappointing when I saw it at the boutique in person.
I'm genuinely impressed with how close MAMACOO were able to replicate every aspect of this very very goofy looking classic watch.
It's a nice watch but too big for your wrist 38 or 39 will be good
Funnily enough, MAMACOO's replicas are perfect for people who can actually afford a luxury watch.
