FYI, I've seen this exact same demo at BestBuy a few weeks back when I bought my LG C2 OLED, and I think they were not doing the MiniLED a favor. They were over-brightening the screen. They could've definitely calibrate the Mini-LED a bit better to match the OLED closer. Still, OLED will be better, of course, though overall brightness MiniLED still the champ.

Oled naturally crushes blacks that’s why the mini led is naturally brighter 🎉best of both worlds except for thinness Sony makes the best mini led X95L 85 inch im BUYING and I love LG oled screens! G3 & x95l for me house

These are the exact two TV's I'm looking to choose between. I do like the absolute blacks of the A80L but I can see it 'crushing' a little in dark scenes, whereas the X93L shows those details. Would you happen to remember what picture modes they were set to? Thanks for posting.

It is store demo mode, not sure if it translates to filmmaker or standard.

The store demo is max vivid, so it’s not fair because this is where blooming happens in the black portions of scenes…

Details on X93L are so-o-o-o-o-o much better!!!! Turn down the brightness on the X93L just a pinch and you will get better color, details and brightness than the oversaturated A80L. All you have to do with most high end TVs is adjust them to what fits YOUR eye and you will be super happy! I personally am getting a Sony 85" X95L which also has XR clear and a bigger screen which will leave BOTH of these TVs in the dust!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OLED black washes details, Mini LED white washes details. Neither are perfect. It's just personal preference.. Although the owl scene does highlight an issue with the OLED screens. Huge reflection top middle that's barely noticeable on the Mini LED.

Yeah, i would grab Hisense U8 or TCL Qm8 any day over SONY mini LEDs. They ten to have more blooming x93L blooming as bad as mid range Hisense, Samsung ips panels. Then SONY x90K X90L have MATTE tint, n MORE blooming. So Sony’s direct 2nd tier, 3rd tier TVs already looking bad(for the buck) . They actually give MINI LED bad reputation. The actual U8K Qm8, X95L, Samsung QN95C (they dont sell that panel in USA ). Look very much QD-OLED once tweaked.

@@Yoga_Tv_buyingSony cares more about image quality and detail more than crushing blacks. It’s not giving them a bad name, they just care more about creators intent

I think the deeper blacks in OLEd on a store or demo is set on vivid mode so it looks pleasing in the eyes because it enhances the other colors but i thought sony prides itself in true to life colors so maybe its good for like showing off to guests in ur house but when ur getting old or too much gaming and tv, u will eventually want a brighter screen to see the details, specially in games

I didn’t even see the model numbers or names and my eyes gravitated towards the OLED when i then saw it’s name,The contrast,Colours,Details looks stunning…Even in a light place,Mini led can never get this close even if you think brightness matches this,It just doesn’t if you want quality and dark levels especially for nighttime viewing,OLED is simply unbeatable and i don’t even have one.

It’s NOT OLED vs MINI LED thing. It’s the OLED vs--Blooming , Low native Contrast, SONY MINI LED thing. Other high performing Samsung , HIsense, TCL flagship does NOT look like x93L -which is x95K with new label. I saw X95K X93L, Qn95B , S95B S95C, Hisense U8K in stores. THE X93L -x95K was d most underwhelming SONY ever (since its SONY flagship mini LED) . Ppl think SONY is best so they assume if thats they came up with 2022, then d rest brands must be bad, that means”oh mini LED must be bad”. They PURPOSELY make MINI LED worse(SONY) dose it. So they can PROMOTE OLED MORE.
U have NOT seen WHat flagship MINI LED 2024 yet. Samsung 2023,,they NEVER launched the FLAGSHIP QN95C, in USA. So they could PROMOTE the QD-OLED S90C S95C. U can buy QN95C in EU n Asia etc. the flagship look pretty much QD-OLED like 1 hair away(picky ppl like me use to flagship quality spot it mostly ppl will just get wow by it.)
S93L has way more blooming than 2022 Hisense U8H INCKY black, that tv look 98% like S95B QD-OLED. THATS why SONY-does NOT go to CES. Cuz their LINE UP(beside flagship) very underwhelming, they just go online to Market later in the year.

A little? When it shows sky the OLED becomes dark as heck. Mini led is better 80% of the time. OLED is better 20% no one only watches dark movies.

Both are great, and both show the same issue in showing detail in darker (OLED) and whiter (LCD) scene... So, it goes, at the end, for personal preference and user's interestings.
