For the NSDRC RS1, did you cut the servo ear off or did you find a way to trim the stock skid plate to leave the servo ear unclipped? I have the 1/10 servo adapter and NSDRC RS1, but haven't installed yet.
Hey Randy, Fortunately, I didn't have to cut the ears off. I was able to the trim plastic material of the chassis with a dremel and flush cutters. It's fits perfectly without modifying the servo. Make sure you get a new servo horn though since the stock one will not fit the new servo. I'm going to be switching to the TREAL Aluminum 7075 Servo Horn 25T & Steering Drag Link since I'm not getting equal steering in both directions at the moment. ALSO! Make sure to run an external BEC. If you do not run a BEC, the electronics in the servo will burn up. NSDRC notes this on their website for the RS1. This servo needs constant 10amp current.
Ok. I'm glad you mentioned the bec because I was going to power the servo using the max 5 bec. Glad I didn't try it. Makes sense though because in my XRT, I used a savox 2290sg and my max 6 esc. I melted 2 2290sg servos within 10 min each time. Guessing it was a similar story... Needed more amps than the ESC could give and burned up. The ProTek 370tbl is working fine with the Max 6 so far without an external bec.
That’s unreal how fast it went great show
“If you buy the best you won’t have issues” famous last words 😂
38 mph that is amazing. Saw the 90 vehicle very kool how fast is the rebuild vehicle. Still watching
We've got about the same setup. Bad ass Bro. Make sure you shim the diffs well. That's a lot of power to the ground.
It's been doing really good! Got to get it to the skatepark soon!
