From the previous project, we will express the landscape for the purpose of growing plants, and incorporate elements necessary to maintain the balance of the ecosystem in the natural environment.
We also aim to express a landscape that changes with the seasons, depending on the type and arrangement of plants.

Anyone know what tree species that is?
I think it looks like a thyme plant (or 4) allowed to go woody and trimmed nicely.
It looks Cotoneaster. Sometimes called rosewood.
Japanese name 白紫檀 (Shiro Shitan or White Shitan) means a group of plants, and it’s hard to pinpoint the name in English, or in scientific name, but I read that it’s called Rosewood, too.

This is very pretty. It's like a miniature tree of life.
Its called a bonsai and is very expansive and difficult to tanke care of. Especially if the tree is taken out of its natural environment. From Japan to Scandinavia for example where the temperatures are lower.

It's actually a shrub, which grow pretty fast. It's probably less than 5 years old

Please, would you tell us which kind of tree it is ? (Serrissa ?) Does it need a lot of light ? Isn't there too much water for its roots ?

It looks like a serissa. Whatever the type of plant, it will need a decent amount of light (only succulents will not need much light). What makes non-succulents difficult to raise indoors, however, isn't the light situation - you can get a grow light and grow basically anything. The difficulty is the humidity and temperature of an indoors environment. You will want to pick some sort of tropical plant for that reason. Other types of plants are doable, but are really pushing what is possible.
Serissa are tropical plants, but they are a little bit trickier than most indoor bonsai choices. You have to be very careful about giving it enough water without letting the roots rot, and they go dormant in the winter, so you will need to stop feeding it and take it away from its main light source at the right time.
They're one of my favorites, though, and are a pretty good choice for beginners in my opinion, even though you will see a lot of people tell you otherwise. They're pretty hardy, so will be OK with a self-watering pot if you have to go on vacation for a couple of weeks, but they also require daily attention on average. It'll teach you everything about bonsai a beginner might want to know. And, worst case, you can always take it outdoors and let it "heal" a bit.
I had a large boxwood like this that I grew in an office for 3 years. It can work, don't trust the naysayers.
The plant in this video is absolutely going to die if left there😊. It has basically no soil for it to draw water from, but that IS side-stepped by having the soil constantly flooded with water. That's way too much water though and the plant will die fairly quickly. Anything except an aquatic or semi-aquatic plant would die.
That said, I know in the East, bonsai is very rarely GROWN indoors. They will move plants indoors for a short period of time to display them, and then bring them back out before they suffer too much damage. That's also how you see such stunning bonsai inside of offices, seemingly without even a grow light. I'm willing to bet the uploader removed the tree soon after finishing the video, and if so, the plant would be just fine.

So beautiful! Two questions: 1) how do you clean the filter? And 2) doesn't the bonsai need more soil in the long term?
i think the bonzai cant last long with the root dip in water for so long .unless the bonsai is aquatic plant or semi aquatic
Bonsai can be very temperamental in my experience and even changing pots can be enough to shock them to death let alone heavily trimming the roots the way he did, I highly doubt that bonsai will lost long in this setup, unfortunate really, it looks beautiful but i give it a few months of life in this setup...

Wasn’t a filter, it was a pump, and seeing they way he didn’t fill in the back means he could easily reach the pump if he ran into a problem
