- I've always wanted to have a large sized rain terrarium in my room, luckily I bought a new cabinet and decided to turn my old cabinet into a forest style raining terrarium.
the main concept of this project is to bring nature home in smaller scales.
having such miniature landscapes not only add beauty to your living scapes, also the visual effects like natural light or FLOWING water, help reduces stress levels and improve moods.

I don't think you can patent "big terrarium with dripping water", lol. Any avid keeper of amphibians has these set up, with size depending on the scale of their project. Some are teeny tiny, and some take up an entire room. It would be cool if you could buy one at the mall, but the maintenance and upkeep is hard work. It's a constant battle against leaks, rotting wood, mold/fungus, and a lot more. The people who do it best incorporate bacteria, bio-rich soil, springtails and other insects, etc. to keep it all in balance. They sure ate beautiful though.

It's not being negative to give someone more information so they won't try to get rich doing something that has already been done. On the contrary, I hope the information inspired them to go look at all the other amazing ones built by those in niche hobby.

One could use this idea to create an indoor vertical fairy garden. In addition to the rain feature, a gentle, multi-level, cascading waterfall could be installed with a 'pond' at the bottom where the water pump would be. You've just given me a wild idea!!!

First of all, LOVE the content. I adore tropical plants but I live in a dry area so it’s a struggle keeping them happy. My eyes miss the green and this was soothing all around.
But also - how refreshing to watch a person do something interesting without cramming the content into a reel! Perhaps long content will make a comeback. Keep up the great work!

Sorry for asking a noob question. But will humidity be a huge problem in the room, cos this will encourage mold to grow on your walls at one point. I am also asking this question as I live in a tropical country, and humidity and mold growing on our walls is a huge problem for us.
You should use to put this near to the window or in the place where bright light of sun
Use a dehumidifier.

I have always loved the sound of rain. I'm actually happier when it's raining. I have been looking for a video of someone making a rain box For sound and ambiance. The only thing is with the plants you can't keep the Rain on for long. Someone should build a small table top box that mimics the weather outside. Except for snow of corse it should be easy to do sun rain fog thunder and even lightning. I would buy that in a second

I agree that this set up is really awesome, but there are already many different versions of this. He demonstrated that if someone were of the creative type, they can make one, too. He showed us exactly how to do it. As long as you ensure it doesn't leak, this would be awesome on a city rooftop terrace. The sound of the water would help drown out traffic noise.
I wonder if there will be molds grow within and outside the surroundings of the terrarium:rainfall.

Good question, I’ve always wondered the same thing about old school terrariums, the type that were in big jars with lids, maybe terrarium plants can’t outgrow their environment? Also I’m not totally convinced that all of that greenery was real. I think he may have fluffed it up a bit with some faux plants and if that’s the case he won’t need to worry about it over growing quite as much if the real plants do have a risk of overgrowth?

It's nice but I would of used glass on the whole inside...not put spray foam right on painted wood because even tho it's water proof it will break down....
The biggest issue I see is that spray foam will attract and hold water/moisture. So, in a year, this will fall apart and rot, regardless of the magic paint.
The wood can be epoxied instead. I've seen it done in a plywood aquarium.
That paint is used for ponds and plywood aquariums, it's actually completely fine.
@@Meskarune It's not the paint that is the issue, it's the expanding foam. That foam attracts water and moisture, and will rot. Period.
