Namco managed to resurrect Ace Combat with 7, which was an almost universally loved title and a commercial success, now what I want to see is a proper Ridge Racer 8.

Me too I want to believe it hard but Japanese are really superstitious. 7 is a lucky number there. Ace Combat 7 was no revival.
NB : Thats why we had RR unbounded !

How was 7 not a revival? The game sold better than any other game in the series and brought the series back into the spotlight, which is very impressive, especially after the disappointment that was Assault Horizon.

@@Rewend04 still, AC was a dead series after Assault horizon and infinity(infinity was basically a "AC greatest hits") AC7 brought the game to prominence again.

Exactly! And I was over the moon when Ace 7 was first announced. I know they cancelled the supposed Ridge Racer 8 Switch exclusive a few years ago, but I don’t see what’s stopping them from starting from scratch on the PS4/5. Unless Bamco just lacks resources for some reason.

I love how you included RR Vita as well, that game still looks great today. AC7 was a success, there was an RR 8 in works for the Switch, which got canceled. I was expecting PS5 version of RR 8, but nothing happened. Let´s hope for the best.

Oh, that playlist of underrated vg music is from a channel called FinalGamerJames, I just save it because it is really good and can be useful for future editions of the Videogames Soundtracks

Ridge Racer has such a phenomenal selection of music. R4 was always my favorite, but honestly, just choose one. They're all stellar. Namco really has a wonderful sound team, that truly rivals Capcom, Square, and Konami back in their prime.

Man, i just love the modern era of Ridge Racer, the speed, the drift, the cars, the tracks, the music, it was amazing, just going fast and take that corners like a crazy and make insane drifts, i just wanted a new game of this series, with a name like:
_Ridge Racer Type 8_
Because the double of 4 (from RR Typr 4) is 8, i know, it's a bad name but i would love to see a new game of the series

Seriously, Namco needs to bring back Ridge Racer. Ridge Racer's rival, Cruis'n returned in 2017, Hot Wheels racing game returned in 2021, and LEGO racing game and F-Zero returned this year. Top Gear(Top Racer in Japan) returns next year. Even San Francisco Rush might return. I saw that Digital Eclipse and Atari were interested in San Francisco Rush. If Rush returns before Ridge Racer, Namco should be prepared to be criticized. Necro Felipe says Ridge Racer 8 has not been cancelled. I hope what he says is true.

It is a very odd thing not doing anything new from the franchise, not even a compilation with some old games
And the franchise always sold mostly well so is something very weird, I really hope they do a new game or simply a compilation or re-release Ridge Racer 7 to newer consoles and PC

​@@Fantisan To be honest, I don't know why Namco and Sega don't port or remaster older games. It would be much better to port or remaster old games rather than 404 GAME RE:SET... In addition, Ridge Racer does not have a license, unlike Daytona, Cruis'n(Lamborghini was removed and replaced with another vehicle, but a police Lamborghini was added to the Switch version), Ace Combat. This means that without a license, remastering and porting becomes easier. Digital Eclipse's self-introduction says: "We give gaming's history the respect it deserves." Erasing gaming's history is the same as not having any love for games.

I really wish I had played that game when I was younger along with Ace Combat and I like the Funky Soundtrack a lot. Much better than Gran Turismo and Need For Speed.
