Is it because of the destruction of Buddhist books (Ola leaf books or "Puskola Poth") by the Portuguese? It is also said that even King Rajasinghe of Seethawaka burned Buddhist books in addition to killing Buddhist monks after he became a Hindu devotee under the influence of Aritta Keevendu Perumal. Can it be that the end of the Sinhalese line of Kings happened due to a plot by Holanders?. Perhaps they engineered a Palace coup to bring in a son of an Indonesian mercenary who posed as a Buddhist monk to the throne. They probably got his help to control the East, including deporting the trouble making royalty from Batavia to the east of Sri Lanka. Those uthamas are creating troubles even today.
