Awesome description! Thank you so much. I'm planning to lease this car but I don't have the time yet to go to the dealership and look at the car, but with your video I think I got everything. Thank you and keep going:)
Great review. I just wanted to see a review under the hood. I'm confused with the whole transmission thing. I know it's a cvt, I looked at the manual but it's doesn't really explain much about it.
Nice in depth review. You covered some things that other videos did not like the digital gauge for monitoring oil changes. Yours is the first new Fit I have seen without the Chrome strip across the back.I thought all Fits had that. Im guessing that your Fit did not come with a parcel shelf to hide the back area when the back seats are up.Is that extra? I hope you will do a long term review.I would be interested to hear how you like it after you have lived with it a while.
Thank you for the comment. You are right about the missing chrome and parcel shelf. The LX doesnot come with any of that. It didn't even come with floor mats. All that can be added separately as Honda accessories. The EX has everything and is probably a better buy. But I got the LX for the 3 extra mpg gas mileage.
jjcentral Interestingly enough the EX would get the same EPA MPG's on the sticker as the LX but because they considered the usage of the paddle shifters it got a slightly lower mpg rating than the LX. If you don't use the paddle shifters mpg's should be close or the same. Several people over on fitfreak have posted there mpg's (most EX and EX-L models) and they are getting great numbers...averages in the high 30's and into the 40's.
jjcentral May I ask, were you able to negotiate the price at all? I read that being demand is greater than the supply, dealers are getting upward of 2% over sticker. I think it was Forbes magazine rated it as #1 for non negotiable price.I'm hoping that waiting until next year will allow for supply to catch up with demand and that many buyers will already have bought theirs. That may be wishful thinking, but I think the Fit has the best value for the price.
Statimtek I was able to negotiate 4% or more of msrp, even when it was out of stock and in full demand. so all that dealer talk about above msrp is BS. You can get it around or under invoice.
I would personally prefer LX trim just to avoid that larger touch screen based. Not having that damned simple volume nub. Besides... pretty much everything is same... if you want a alloy wheels, just buy it seperately... you will likely buy a winter tires... so buy it than and use the stock steels for winter tires.
does the CVT transmission have the usual lag when switching from Drive to Reverse? like when i drive the nissan verse, whenever i switch to drive or reverse, it has a 2 second lag before the gears activate. it is REALLY annoying
Wait you didn't mention the in dash cup holder! The only cons is the front seats don't slide back enough, no rear center arm rest along with cup holders, a joke of a drivers arm rest (needs height adjustments), and noise at freeway speeds due to engine RPM's but that's really it.
Yes all the new Honda Cars reminds you with a wrench symbol when the oil life drops to 15% or when it is time to change some other fluids. I went over this on the video at 6:50
Is the rear-view backup camera actually munlti angle? When you look at pictures for the EX model you can see three on screen buttons to change the viewing angle, but I noticed in your video there was only one.
The Magic Seats have 4 configuration modes: utility mode, tall mode, refresh mode and long mode. Also, Honda skipped the 2014 model year. They went from 2013 right to the 2015 Fit.
Like others were saying, the central arm rest is useless for the driver. The driver seat goes up and down and it feels like the armrest is lower when the seat is up. However it feels like it was made for the passenger whose seat is lot lower.
Jayesh Suryawanshi I don't know the details about the Indian version, but all I know is that it is called the Honda Jazz in India and should be available with a smaller 1.2L engine.
Very good review man! Look forward to your impressions after a few weeks of ownership.
THanks for nice vid, can't wait for your review on the driving dynamic

Thanks for the video.I'd love to hear an update after a few weeks of driving.
Hi jjcentral. like your videos, can you record your next oil change, real interested to see the under engine cover plate.
Thanks in advance.
Just shot a video of the oil change. Please take a look. Thanks.

jjcentral Thank you sir.
Great review. Can you show more of the stereo and what kind of features it has on it.
Just did a video on the radio features, please check my channel. Thanks.
can you do an update video of your 2015 fit? like so far your experience since its been a year
Excellent!

Completely forgot about the dash cup holder. I don't feel that much noise in the highway with the CVT. The manual tranny however is loud.
JJCentral dose the base fit give you reminders when it is time to get an oil change and regular maintenance reminders?

Yes, it does have all three angles. While the camera is on you press the select button to toggle between views.
Honda Fit 2015 LX vs. Mazda3 2015 (Sedan) vs. Dodge Dart 2015 (SE Automatic)
Need help choosing one!
Kevin Flores Totally different driving style choices. I would prefer Mazda3 for sure.
The Magic Seats have 4 configuration modes: utility mode, tall mode, refresh mode and long mode. Also, Honda skipped the 2014 model year. They went from 2013 right to the 2015 Fit.
Thanks for clarifying the correct names of the seat modes. Also good catch about the 2014. Should have just said "previous model year." Thanks.
Do you still like the center armrest? Are you able to rest your arm on it?
The center armrest is completely worthless. It's waaaayyy too low. How this got approved by Honda I don't know. smh
The center armrest is a complete joke, it is such a pain in the ass. It is absolutely useless, no human could use it.
Like others were saying, the central arm rest is useless for the driver. The driver seat goes up and down and it feels like the armrest is lower when the seat is up. However it feels like it was made for the passenger whose seat is lot lower.
Does the LX come standard with backup camera?
Carl P They all do.
does the cruise control comes on the standard variant
Yes, Cruise control is standard in all variants.
when will it launched in India, and what is the expected price range, will it be launched in India with cruise control and sun roof in India?
Jayesh Suryawanshi I don't know the details about the Indian version, but all I know is that it is called the Honda Jazz in India and should be available with a smaller 1.2L engine.
Is the radio hard to hear on the highway?
Not really, the radio does have the feature that increases the volume if you go faster.
