For those he didnt get it, the quick transition when cal shows up is him sensing her dead body with his ability, seeing everything we played through. I personally loved this sequence. Cere represents what the Jedi should be at this point in her life. She even says so “I’ve let go of my fear”. The republic and the order fell because the Jedi had become so self absorbed, but here we see Cere rising above the order of the past.
On top of that, Vader underestimates her. He swatted her away like a fly the last time they met. She stands her ground against him this time because she let go of the hatred she had against him for killing Trilla, further showing her character and power growth.
Vader becomes visibly more aggressive throughout the fight as he realises he has a real opponent this time. We all knew he was going to ultimately win, but to say Cere stands no chance just doesn’t give her justice.
And a side note, it genuinely nearly brought me to tears when I realised that whole Cere section of the game was Cal reliving her death through his force psychometry. It was absolutely heartbreaking

I honestly think this is one of Vader’s better portrayed duels (outside of the movies) because the only reason he takes any damage isn’t because he was over powered or out dueled but bc for a split second he underestimated a master Jedi, and it shows Cere’s genius as she lured him to a trap which she only had milliseconds at best to think of and spring, then Vader emerges from the fire with some new found respect for Cere (which is shown in how he doesn’t taunt or belittle her after the duel is over) he’s also a little shaken up which Cere tries to take advantage of and she is almost able to do so but Vader being the smarter duelist manages to actually use that upper hand she has to his own advantage as it prompts her into going on a full offensive as she believes it’s her only chance at striking him, this leaves her defenseless and Vader capitalizes on the opportunity, delivering a final blow

For those upset that Cere put up a good fight here’s my best explanation for this.
    1. Let’s drop the whole “Vader is invincible” He isn’t. The main reason Vader overpowers his opponent is because they already fear him, fear of losing something or someone which he exploits and dominates those who faces him. That and because he’s an expert duelist and very powerful in the Force.
    2. Cere is a literal Jedi Master who’s not some cannon fodder, but an experienced Jedi.
    3. A Jedi with no fear is (In my opinion) the most dangerous thing to a Sith. This is b/c letting go of fear allows a Jedi to fully concentrate and let themselves follow the will of the force, making them more powerful as a result which is what Cere did. That is why fear is the Jedi’s worse enemy b/c it hinders and distracts them.

While I do agree that Cere was outmatched in this fight and that Vader definitely was holding back for a while, I like how Vader actually gets pretty hurt because even though he is the Chosen One and a powerful Sith Lord, he’s still a human who can be hurt. Characters like those should be in their own league, both to make them stand out, be more important, and in vaders case, sell the character as what they're supposed to be portrayed as.
Vader isn't a jedi killer. He's hardly considerable as a hunter almost either. It's more fitting to call him the jedi genoicder. Jedi hunter is more of a inquisitor title.

People forget that this is a video game. For all intents and purposes, we can basically say this fight lasted 15 seconds in-canon. Cere dodged a few attacks, then tried to bury Vader under the archives, Vader gets up and he kills her shortly after. It’s only drawn out because it’s a video game and they wanted to let us fight Vader since we didn’t get a proper boss fight in the last game.

@@Clown_Syndrome I agree because honestly, we don’t know how powerful Cere was. Obi wan lost his connection to the force after Revenge of the Sith, but in Kenobi he quickly regained his power and defeated Vader again. Who’s to say Cere (who had way more time to regain her strength) wasn’t a very powerful Jedi in her prime? Vader had many formidable opponents. Obi Wan (twice), Ahsoka, Galen, and Luke to name a few. Some may argue that it’s different because those characters are emotionally connected to him in some way, but the whole idea is that Vader and Anakin are separate characters in the same person. I don’t think it’s sacrilege anytime Vader struggles to best his opponent. The main thing is that he won, which let’s be honest, who expected him to lose? Also, people forget that this fight takes place in the middle of the Jedi archives which could be interfering with his dark side energy or something (idk).

@@yourfatherwhowenttogetmilk7201 oh I meant Vader winning through the skin of his teeth lucky shot with Cere lol. Like I love the fact in fallen order you got the chance to gace him as a Padawan rurned Jedi Knight only recently at that point and there's just no way you can win so block and escape is literally your only option lol and I suspect that the devs had you duel against Vader here to give you a contrast and be able to duel him as an expierence jedi master who learned from the first game, was actually prepared for Vader arriving and the potiental in facing him off in a duel properly as well as letting go of her fear, had she gave in to the dark side as in the first game, Vader would've easily won this fight without much effort because he would've easily swatted her aside as last time and/or goaded, baited her out, manipulated the fight to his advantage and kill her with like 2 swift strokes, but she didn't and it makes sense that she would put up a fight this time and she had the environment as an advantage in flames and falling debris to mamage to trap Vader with, but Vader also had that as well lol. But yeah I do believe that the ending could've been in a more calculated move where Vader had undersestimated her initially and wasn't really taking her too seriously and had sustained some damage, so he puts 2 hands on his saber and his attacks got even faster and stronger, and then maneuver her in a way where she thinks she has the upper hand, then close in the gap and best her by the end with cunning and finesse. I do think it's funny how people are gaslighting themselves into thinking that Vader just went out all easily and that was that when he was pretty much dominating most of the duel, while Cere was just trying to hold her own as best she can and find a way to defeat him once and for all. But yeah in the ps2 force unleashed 1 it does make the duel seem more of a struggle, like you're not just fucking murking Vader in this ridiculous over the top fashion, same thing with Palpatine. Honestly the 360 version is trash and overrated, people got too caught up in gRaPhiCs lol, but it's gameplay is trash. It's wayy more fun, better and more satisfying on the ps2. And the 360 version doesn't feel like a star wars game, it just feels like a pseudo god of war/superhero game since gow was very popular at that point not to mention as I said the ridiculous over the top cutscenes especially during the Vader and Palpatine duels lmao, it's hilariously bad.
Oh and I love the game on ds as well lol, very underrated and enjoyable imo.

Bruh he’s just excited to see a character he has been a massive fan of since he was a kid, who also happens to be one of the most iconic characters in movie history. Why are people mad that he was excited about seing Vader kill Cere? She’s a likeable character and all but she’s far from iconic in Star Wars, especially next to Vader. So excitement wise that explains it.
If you mean that he meat rides him powerscaling wise well not really, look how much she got destroyed in the last game, yeah she had a few years of training in between, but not nearly enough to scale her to the likes of Vader, sidious or Yoda. She put up a good fight and had him to take her seriously unlike last time.
Plus we all knew she was going to die and he was going to win, because that’s the only way it could happen caconically. So when having all these things put together, it’s completely normal for theory to be more excited about Vader than Cere, we all knew he was going to win and judging by his portrayal in fallen order, expected him to mop the floor with her. Is theory’s reaction really meat riding or is it just you being mad at something normal for the sake of it?

@Gauthier Lagrange This is a prime example of a theory meat rider everyone ☝️. At first I wasn't gonna bother to read all that but since you think you're smart I'm gonna take the time to address every idiotic point you made. First let's start with the "excited to see a character he has been a massive fan of" yeah no shit, almost everyone's a massive fan of Vader, including myself, we all get he's iconic and seeing him is gonna incite an excited reaction, but that's very different from cheering the death of a character or celebrating BECAUSE of that character even though every story beat up until that point does nothing to warrant the celebration of Ceres death. Questioning why people would be upset about Vader killing Cere is like questioning people why they would be upset when Anakin killed the younglings.. cause he's an evil villain killing innocent people lmao. When it comes to powerscaling he meat rides him in that department as well, considering the fact that Vader has been beaten by so many characters at this point that its laughable, all that power and he still loses to the likes of Boba Fett and Tarkin, and an Obi-Wan who hadn't trained in like 10 years 😭. Cere putting up a good fight and damaging him significantly isn't unrealistic if you remember that in the first game her force abilities were quite impressive. We are all already painfully aware that Vader would survive the fight and live on canonically, of course she was gonna die, but his reaction to her death is just weird.. that's the reaction you'd expect from a typical Vader meat rider though lol, celebrating the death of a good jedi because they refuse to believe anyone could give a challenge to Vader.. Pathetic mindset. Vader isn't cool because he's invincible, he's cool because he's relentless. And I can assure you, I'm not nearly as mad as theory was when he saw Vader getting his ass handed to him by Cere, and not nearly as mad as you for going to the lengths you did to defend him c🤡. Now get out of my sight.

Now for your actual points, you argue in an empty room here. When did I say I want Vader to be an all mighty god no one can touch? I do agree with you with the relentless part, it’s what makes a lot of characters more interesting, if he was always unbeatable he wouldn’t be engaging. However you’re stretching a LOT when you say the likes of Boba or Tarkin beat him, they weren’t fair fights and it didn’t end well for them in both examples you mentioned, not at all the same situation Cere was in. If I manage to surprise the best mma fighter with a taser I wouldn’t say it’s the same as nearly beating him in the octogone. Obi-Wan is a completely different story and you know it, it’s been talked about for ages so I won’t even bother.
Now lastly, on the Theory part, no I’m not meatgrinding him, he has a lot of takes i don’t agree with and I don’t watch most of his content. I don’t really care. I think you’re just being way too harsh on his reaction because of your hate boner for him, he wanted to see a badass scene of his favorite character, it’s not that deep. He wasn’t thinking about the moralities here, he is not celebrating his actions, he’s celebrating the character. When people saw Vader chopping down rebels in Rogue One, a lot of them cheered, because it was a cool and badass scene of the character they like, again, not that deep, why aren’t you getting mad at them « why are you happy, you’re celebrating the death of good hearted rebel »? Because that’s the argument you’re making here, and it’s a poor one. You don’t have to feel like he did during that scene, having different expectations or attachement to the characters is okay, that’s my point.
Plus he wasn’t even that mad, he just made a few comments during the fight out of excitement and then at the end out of surprise it was that close. The reason I’m defending him is because your comment was unreasonable, plain and simple.

I see people saying Vader is underpowered in this fight but i don't see it that way.
Vader acknowledges Cere has grown stronger, but several times in this fight he overpowers her with the Force. He probably could have killed her at any point easily using the Force based on what we see but he wants to break her so he doesn't use the Force to kill her until she gets too close at which point he redirects her strike to miss while stabbing her simultaneously.
Also Vader is known for toying with his victims before killing them which actually gets him into trouble a few times in Star Wars canon. But i think that's a bit of Anakin's ego shining through, he has to prove he is the best. But his arrogance and need to prove himself often cause him to lose/almost lose fights just like Obi-wan repeatedly tried to warn him.
There are so many nods to other things in Star Wars in this game and this fight to me really shows that although yes Vader is evil and terrifying, it's clearly Anakin in that suit. He's still there just under the surface but only Luke could see that and bring him back.

@@CojaGamez Whilst I'd love to believe that's true, Vader is famous for "playing" with his food. I have no doubt if he fully committed himself from the start he would have overpowered Cere fairly quickly.
The thing is he loves to terrify his opponents, he wants them to feel true fear and torment, which happens to be a detriment when he's against an opponent who can overcome this fear and operate with a clear mind.
In this fight he's playing with Cere to start with, which you can see in his actions, in the beginning his "red" attacks comprise of slow, wide sweeping attacks that are meant to simply batter the enemy down and frighten them, aswell as the animation where he goes to grab their head. Yet as the fight progresses and you go through more cutscenes his attacks are more precise and quick, the more Cere showed she wouldn't fall to her fear, the more he upped his game.
Then naturally at the end when Cere caught him off guard and dropped the archive on him, he basically decided enough is enough and that he's going to end it there. Yes he is wounded, however that's purely because he wasn't trying to *just* win, he wanted to mentally break her, which opened up some windows for her.
Cere is definitely a strong Jedi, and the fact that she held out for that long especially once Vader started putting more focus into the physical fight shows that she truly was a great Jedi. However there's no way she would have won, especially not if Vader went in 100% from the start.

@@anakinskywalker9315 Obi Wan quite literally trained him so I would hope he would be able to defeat him Ashoka had a more personal connection with him as did Luke… what are you even crying about??? Luke beating Vader was quite literally the vision since day 1, otherwise the literal creator of the franchise.

To those that are mad that Cere was giving Vader trouble. Do yall even watch Star wars? Like ever? In all the movies, books, games and even in the Obi wan tv show. What has always been Anikan/Vader's weakness? His pride. His arrogance has always been his down fall. Hell even in ESB when Luke hit him, vader was playing with his food. Then after that he got serious and cut off Lukes hand. Yall Wildin'

The vader on fire reminded me of mustafar how anakin was burnt while he was sad and broken and now when vader is burning he is stronger and deadlier than before, it shows that how he has killed anakin skywalker and has fully embraced the dark side.

I don't understand the whole, "Vader is invincible" thing. Vader has gotten bested by Obi-wan twice along with quite a few others. On top of that, he also did take a hit to the shoulder from an untrained Luke Skywalker in Empire Strikes Back, so for all you OT only heads out there, explain that please.

At the end of the day, Cere used the environment around her to do damage to Vader. Chalk is off to home-field advantage.
