I loved how Rayvis just wanted to die the entire time. Really cool character and a very unique boss fight. Definitely my favourite new character in the game, just wish we got more of him.

Why’s no one talking about how cool Cal was at the beginning of the encounter? Like completely confident in his ability to kick Rayvis ass.
It was a long way since that scared scrapper from Bracca to an established badass Jedi.
Cap’s whole demeaned has changed he’s not scared of anyone, more sure of himself etc. he’s not a lost boy any more, he’s a Jedi Knight.
That was padwan Cal; this is Knight Cal it seems small but the differences really are spectacular between padawan and a knight,
From the very beginning of the game I was thinking how much more composed and sure of himself he is now. I love how his story is going and can't wait for more.
He said that was easy, meanwhile, I spent 2 and a half hours fighting him on the hardest difficulty learning every block pattern and every attack and he just beats it second try (bc of difficulty).
Bro I felt that. I spent half a day basically mastering the entire first phase to the point I wouldn't get hit and go into second phase with full hp and all my stims, just to get hit by a 30+ combo or die to an unblockable overhead.

@@Blaedin1337 DUDE THIS IS LITERALLY EXACTLY WHAT I WENT THROUGH YESTERDAY, I GOT SO GOOD AT FIRST STAGE I LITERALLY TAKE 0 HITS ANYMORE LMAO. I was only able to beat his second stage by playing very safe and only punished 2 of his attacks + the missile attack and just dodging and zoning the rest instead of blocking them.

Personally this was a fun boss fight that I enjoyed. However even though I understand that Rayvis wanted to die, I feel like the dev team could've made the boss fight feel more like you were fighting a Gen'Dai. Granted his health bar refills on 2nd phase, making him one of the higher health bosses in the game, but he didn't really feel that beefy considering his size and how easy it was to land some hits on him.
I think the dev team could've added a feature where Rayvis could recover some health if he didn't receive any damage for some time for example, and/or they could make it so Cal could actually cut off a limb which would give a slightly different attack pattern, and then eventually the limbs would regrow and the original attack patterns are back. Just a couple of examples.

I agree 100% I love this game and it’s characters, but Rayvis’ fight and death scene weren’t done justice 😭
On Jedi Grand Master difficulty he has constant health regen in phase 2

@@drdapper1899 He's straight up Malenia on Grandmaster, recovers an absurd amount of hp if you arent aggressive on him. Definitely the boss i spent most time on outside of the bs double/triple boss fights.
Idk why…but I find the clicking of his suit kind of relaxing…and I love his voice

Still trying to wrap my head around the fact that Rayvis was voiced by DC Douglas - the same guy who voiced Albert Wesker in Resident Evil 5. BADASS!!!!!
To me Rayvis’ death mirrored Dookus. Both felt trapped as pawns to their master and both shouldn’t have technically been killed by the Jedi who dealt the blow as they were both disarmed

I Really like how Rayvis isn't really a Villain. He's Loyal to Dagen because He beat Him in Combat, But I Like that He's an Honorable and Loyal Warrior. Great Character and Great Boss Fight.

Screw Rayvis 😂 I spent so much time on this fight but I refused to lower the difficulty.
Played this on jedi Master, took me 7-8 trys to defeat him with a single lighsaber

Ya I was thinking the only way to kill something that regenerates like this is to disintegrate it down to the last atom

I kind of like this new canon version of GenDai because the Legends version just made them too ridiculous to be believed. Durge specifically was just almost comically powerful and nigh unkillable.

Sure KOTOR was great , but its still a linear story … as far as influencing character relationships.
I know Durge is a special case for Gen'dai but I feel like Rayvis could've lasted A LOT longer than two phases considering his species
no, ann gen'dai are like this but i guess the devs forgot about it, if they stayed true to the anatomy of the gen'dai then we would have gotten an insane boss fight

His final boss video was embarrassing to watch.
Kept dodging instead of jumping over unblockables. Also kept hack and slashing enemies without blocking, and then raged because he died.
@@Pioneer5118 To be honest, you're sort of right. He isn't very good and as he said in his review, it was a skill issue. But he still made it through the game so respect.
He was the most difficult boss for me. But I do feel he was killed too easily (story wise).
I think he wanted cal to win and wanted to die you can tell he hated being in dragon's service.

Rayvis gets a tentacle arm and all I can think of is that they really wanted DC Douglas to channel his inner Wesker in this role.

Idk if u knew this but if u just hold block it uses a force block an u literally block everything even when they glow red u block u dont have to move uses force energy.
Marksman perk and pokey play style made him pretty easy compared to most for me lol
Its so weird. It probably took me 2 hours to beat rayvis the first time i fought him. I just played through this again and beat him first try while getting hit a single time. It was easy and i have no idea why.
I know he WANTED to die and all but I don’t like how a decapitation was the way he went out. For someone who’s essentially immortal seems a bit like a cop out. But I understand it and still love the character
Well he's not immortal is he... He has long life span and can regrow limbs or reattach limbs but a severed head is pretty much the end of anything. Just because other portrayals of his species have gone balls out crazy like animated features, doesn't mean every depiction of a new member of that species has to be the same.
@@LouSassol69er I get that and am okay with that like I said. Things were bound to be different since it’s been a long time since we’ve seen his species. I jus wish decapitation wasn’t the way he went out. It’s a simple yet good way to get it through to the audience that he’s dead for good but woulda been nice to see him explode knowing he’s just a cluster of nerves given shape by the armor that can constantly regrow.
They nerfed his species pretty hard, i enjoyed the game a lot but this death scene was very unsatisfying considering the only way for durge to die was getting thrown into the sun
@@UntamediNeon animated series always made things extra. Plus there's always going to be something that can put a stop to a being within the head. Unless they can regrow from a single cell. But that's not what this is, it's just regrowing limbs. He's not the same character as Durge. He wanted his warriors death that the high republic Jedi order denied him.
@@UntamediNeon Durge was an exception, not the rule. He was heavily modified in both armor and actual body. Like he basically mutated himself.
Please never complain about the fight mechanics or the difficulty of a boss if you’re playing on STORY MODE. The description of it literally says it’s turned to baby mode so you can fully feel the story
Funny how Theory maintains he is Darth Scrote when he is never mentioned as such. Also this battle could have been so much better if they had kept the 2003 lore for Gen Dai, oh well...what else do you expect from Disney?
This encounter pissed me off. For whatever reason I just couldn't get through this specific one.

plus you are putting yourself at a disadvantage not using cross guard stance, it does way to much damage and has the best guard meter. master your tools and you’ll have no trouble on gm.
I love you theory. You gotta know that. But somtimes you make me lol when your chad starts to show. You died and then barely beat it with a half inch of health left and then complained about it being too easy. I love it.
Given how uptalked his species where before hand I felt a bit underwhelmed by this fight. The only thing they did was to repeat the fight after the tentacles come out. I wish they could have been more creative with his fighting capabilities. J.

Before putting stock or faith in a company that just bought a saga from the original owner. They should research Walt Disney company itself. Not the company owned website. This fight wasn’t that bad on Jedi Master not the hardest difficulty because putting it on gm 1st playthru would definitely make the game unfun
I beat him on grand master… after beating the game personally I’d definitely say he was the hardest boss in the game but also the most fun

Duel blades are better for this boss. I found the cross saber to be better with Bode
double blades is the best option. It's quick, decently hard hitting and precise. Exactly what you need in a boss fight where you need to act fast
Funny enough I actually dealt with him easier using the blaster stance. It was a good way of keeping him at distance but it's cool to see people dealt with him differently
I've been playing through the game with just Single and Double bladed lol. I have all the stances unlocked but I just find Single and Double bladed to be easy to master.
Who would be a Good Actor to play Live Action Cal?!?
The actor that plays him in the game is a big Tv actor, he would be perfect. Looks just like him and everything.

jedi grandmaster took me 32 tries to beat him
He was underwhelming 😭 Lore wise I wanted him to either not be killable in the game or have an insanely over the top death. Fight was easier than I wanted too. Feel like this guy needs a revamp 😭 Loved Rayvis as a character but that fight and death scene didn’t satisfy 😤
What difficulty did you play on lol, this guy is insane on grandmaster but a breeze for the other difficulties

On Jedha during the mission where you go to find Brother Armias. You’ll see it along the way but it’s easy to miss when you’re not looking closely

The fight was a little underwhelming the fact he just gave up at the end. Obi-Wan had to literally jump inside Durge and destroy the central nerve or heart or whatever it was. Cal just chopped off limbs and did a big slash shouldnt have remotely killed Rayvis
You mean the big slash that went right through his core in the center?
@cringemeat9430 If it hit his center it was barely. Maybe it's the lack of gore in the game, maybe it's the lack of scorch marks to where he was hit but it was super lackluster

i think this fight was a wasted opportunity, i was expecting it to be much better... He is a fucking Gen'Dai they could have done a lot of thing to make this fight awesome but instead he just beats you with his stick and shoots you a couple times and in the end he just yields without even using his Gen'Dai abilities... Like WHAT?!
Idk how he found this boss easy. For me it was really hard and I’m actually overall better at this game then theory is.
