razer was probably the first big gaming company to make small form factor keebs, but I bet you cash money that they wanted some of the change that Ducky, Glorious, royal Kludge, and more have been collecting off of their sff keebs for a while now
As a 60% keyboard, I'm happy 60% keyboards are now getting more populated in the market. The K65 seems to be a good buy-and-use kind of scenario, or even for the slightly enthusiastic that will put foam in the case and lube the switches+stabs. For me though, I would really like to see brands like Corsair, Razer, etc, to come in and bring us an aluminium case and/or backplate, some brass would be absolutely brilliant too.
@@NorthernLaw_ really depends on what you're doing with the keyboard but for the average gamer the actuation isn't going to matter at all. speeds are alright but it really depends on the batch, the older batches are definitely better than the newer ones.

It's crazy how fast people moved away from cherry mx switches. I just got the corsair k95 platinum xt with cherry mx blues in Jan and i've been happy thus far, I'm new to the mechanical keyboard community so I guess it hasn't really gotten old me yet. I'm interesting in trying some Gateron browns next
This keyboard is using cherry switches after all, so it might have chord split- actually, since it does have an 8k polling rate, it'll likely not have chord splitting. I honestly don't know how they implemented this high of a polling rate on a standard mechanical switch.
This is a very basic keyboard at the end of the day, so I don't see why someone would buy that over other better keyboards like the apex pro, origins core, etc.
I bought this keyboard for $75 and am waiting for it. I was surprised to see the negative impression on various channels, many people disappointed, but at the same time no one gives any objective information (except about superfluous things like the position of the cable in the back). It's all about "feelings" while I think the most important thing would be to show gaming performance, input lag, etc. By the way, if I am not mistaken this keyboard is in first place in the rtings latency test (0.1s), involving 173 analyzed keyboards, so at least the relevant objective information seems to me to be extremely favorable to the keyboard.
Oh my god, thank you. I was looking to see if someone would mention this. All these reviews are horrible jumping on the bandwagon with literally 0 quantifiable tests. Not many objective reviews, and if we're being objective, this keyboard seems to be one of the best for competitive gaming.
8k polling rate might help for rhythm games, but that is the only scenario where i would consider it relevant. And I suppose even then optical switches would be prefered...
In my opinion, I think I can explain the reason why Corsair put the type c connector 10 mm away from the center. I think it is because Corsair doesn't want people replace the kb case itself . . .
For the price and not really wanting to do custom bs and just wanting to game right out the box the keyboard was awesome for the price I got it. But then again I don’t give a heck what the keyboard sounds like I’m happy with some color, good feeling keycaps, and a strong feeling to the keyboard.
@@tasmanbr3385 How? Mini has objectively better switches, more powerful software, an aluminum top plate, and better cable placement. It doesn’t have the same sound issues that the K65 does. It’s $120, but most people are willing to pay $10 more for a way better keyboard. It’s fine if you have Corsair products and are in the ecosystem, but it’s not fine to ignore actual specs and be blinded by brand loyalty.
Glad Corsair took that idea I had for that "Corsair logo keycap as Esc key" When they asked for ideas I said that and it appears they did it, now all they need to do is refresh the K100, put that with it, and put brown switches or literally any high actuation switch and I'm sold
I agree with pretty much everything you said. Starting with the name, it should've been at least a 65% (I think 75% should become the sought after small form factor). Pretty much everyone that held off on buying the K100 was wanting it in TKL, so they should've just done that honestly. They definitely should move their cables over to the left. I thought for sure that they would have gone for a metal case since every keyboard they've made up to this point is always praised for having a metal body. Overall, I think they should stick to full size and TKL. Not that this was so terrible that they should just give up, but their customer base loves those 2 form factors and that tank-like build quality. I think this was someone in the marketing team pointing at Razer and HyperX wanting to jump on the bandwagon. If there was a hype train I want to see them board, it's lightweight mice. I'd love to see that Corsair quality built into an ultralight mouse.
I really thought you were a huge Corsair fanboy. Thanks for this honest review. When I heard they were coming out with a 60% I too thought it would’ve done something more than the minimum. Really disappointed, I’m trying to find something to replace my apex pro tkl and go 60% and this isn’t it.
It's probably been said, but it feels like they just wanted to jump on the 60% train because they saw it getting popular and threw out the cheapest fastest thing they could make
I bought the K65 before I saw this video and I think that it is great. I have had some other keyboards before that for example the Techware Phantom 87 and after it I think that the K65 is great.
i just bought this keyboard and i love it the stabs are so good for a prebuilt and i love the speed switches its so much better than the matrix 60 pervcent whitch is what im coming from 10/10 from me
The reason the cable is not perfectly centered is because you are supposed to offset the keyboard slightly to the left so that the cable is centered to your setup then you will have more space for your mouse on your right
i found this on a display at bestbuy, and the stabalizers sounded amazing and so did the switches. i think the display might have the silents though because it was pretty quiet.
Very well put. As I was listening to the typing, I was thinking "That spacebar needs some love, but the rest of the stabilizer keys seem to sound ok." and "there's a hollow-ness to this sound, and some pinging". Then you went and pointed out all of those. Adding foam is something I do to all my keyboards and tends to help greatly to give them a more muted and satisfying sound. Seems like in this case, it helped, but the keyboard is what it is; lower materials than in other designs from the same company, and they're just pushing their PBT caps. I'm curious if something like the KinesisGaming TKO would at least provide with more for the 60% club...I think I'll try that one next; this one was a bit of a disappointment.
Hey, how thick is the foam you usually use? I ordered a new kb and I plan to add foam inside, but I don't have any idea if 3mm is enough or 6mm is necessary, can you help me out?
It was cool to have one of your buddies help with the review, but it would’ve been cool to maybe shout him out. Maybe even put a link to his channel in the description. Great review!
All these gaming brands warring with each other over 60% keebs, while I'm chilling here with my custom e-white tofu65 w/ Tealios on a polycarb plate. Fun times.
Cherry Reds are so outdated on a keyboard these days and for me at least all Corsair needs to do is offer the keyboard with optical switches and put foam inside it and as for the lube on the spacebar key I think it could have been a mistake since they did have lube on other switches. I am not really a small form factor keyboard guy since I like using the numpad but I think even with these issues so many people will buy them since they are iCUE compatible and iCUE is is pretty good for RGB and macros and Corsair sells at least one of each type of pretty much every common RGB component or peripheral that makes sense to be RGB which for me is why my whole setup is pretty much almost just Corsair stuff because they have one of the best RGB and macro softwares and have such a wide variety of products supported in the software and even support the RGB on MSI MOBO's and ASUS MOBO's and GPU's with iCUE and I have an ASUS MOBO and GPU Also whilst I do mostly agree with Hardware Canucks and RandomFrankP I think BrainBean's review was way way too harsh and too bad and I think it's because he doesn't like linear switches because he said he wanted clicky/tactile switches and most major gaming peripheral companies have been moving away from tactile and clicky switches and so have consumers. My personal favourite keyboard from Corsair would be a K100 if they integrated the Corsair Nexus in to the top middle where their logo is and removed the iCUE logo on the customisable dial in the top left with their OP-X switches which I have yet to try since I still use a K70 RGB Rapidfire with Cherry MX Speeds from 2016 and am looking to replacing it with a new keyboard that prefferebly supports iCUE and has dedicated macros and is full size and has linear optical switches
Disagree on the 8k polling rate doesnt matter :/ Love your channel tho :) I was looking for a higher polling rate keyboard to reduce latency and quicker space bar smash to do a bunny hop in COD. Its easier to bunnyhop on controller because you change directions with a joystick and have a paddle on the back to spam jump. they are still using cherry mx switches because not only can't they make keyboards, the keyboards they make that already suck, especially for the price, are outdated too
It won't. You're either on beat or you're not. And from a mechanics perspective, i think the key switch and your fingers ability to actuate at the right time means more than how often the keyboard interfaces with the USB.
@@envysmith6832 Not true at all. Polling rate 100% matters on rhythm games where an 8ms delay could mean the difference between a perfect score and a low accuracy hit, or a low accuracy hit and a miss. You'd be artificially trying to hit the beat earlier than it actually is.
Bruh wtf is wrong with Cherry reds?Their pretty good and I see nothing wrong with them.Just because Cherry switches have been on the market so long doesnt mean they are bad.
Corsair is like blockbuster, whereas other companies are like netflix. Corsair is stuck in the past with cherry switches and heavy clunky mice, and other companies are expanding their horizons by using kailh, gateron, even their own switches which are far superior
i dont understand why anyone would want a 60% when a 65/67 gives you SOOOO much more flexibility. having the extra few keys makes a world of difference and im not even sure its noticeably bigger unless your actually look at them next to each other.
Corsair is a good brand for a new starting set up! I have the void RGB wireless headset and just ordered this keyboard. Gonna buy a mouse and keyboard in a few months and base around Corsair
5:15 absolutely smooth brained logic. this keyboard is faster than the wooting 60he according to rtings which means the debounce delay is far lower than he thinks and if the switches feel scratchy just apply grease lol
well... I dont get it. What's wrong in using the solid cherry mx switches? AFAIK there's no Cherry MX Silent red equivalent. (yes, I know, the videos talks about the mx red version). On 8k freq., yes I agree 100%. great video anyways :)
honesty I liked how it typed at Best Buy, fell in love bought it home only to realize that it doesn't have physical arrow keys. SMH. im going to be exchanging it most likely because of lack of arrow keys.

How many keyboards does this man have?!
ALL of them!
DAMN the sound test with that foam addition! You're a genius hah
I feel like he hasn't posted room tour project in a while.
he did it a week ago
wow now I can't stop looking at the fact that the ports uneven!!! Thanks Frank lolol
love your videos keep it up
frank belike: mmm time for a keyboard review... lets make dimitri do it!
Atlast a standard bottom row, I would buy one if this was released 2 years ago. Lol corsair are way too late into custom keyboard 😅
you considered this ad custom keeb?
*as
Your videos are so insane and so funny that deserves a sub
That 10mm off the center did it for me ; ~;"
There's one situation where high polling rate could be beneficial- rhythm games, such as osu!
Osu is not even accuracy based. You don’t need that kind of polling rate. Plus Osu sucks.
Corsair is like blockbuster, whereas other companies are like netflix. Corsair is stuck in the past with cherry switches and heavy clunky mice, and other companies are expanding their horizons by using kailh, gateron, even their own switches which are far superior
No SFF cases either
i dont understand why anyone would want a 60% when a 65/67 gives you SOOOO much more flexibility. having the extra few keys makes a world of difference and im not even sure its noticeably bigger unless your actually look at them next to each other.
The main thing is the cost difference, for some reason a 65 costs way more
Plot twist: Frank has a secret GF called Corsair (unknown to his wife) and has just broken up with her in front of thousands of people
Oh god, has anyone checked if she’s ok? It’s so sad when relationships end 😔
Corsair is a good brand for a new starting set up! I have the void RGB wireless headset and just ordered this keyboard. Gonna buy a mouse and keyboard in a few months and base around Corsair
When people say you're paid for reviews
Paid to say "i don't like this corsair" :P
5:15 absolutely smooth brained logic. this keyboard is faster than the wooting 60he according to rtings which means the debounce delay is far lower than he thinks and if the switches feel scratchy just apply grease lol
Break up with corsair,
get with Dmitri
I approve
well... I dont get it. What's wrong in using the solid cherry mx switches? AFAIK there's no Cherry MX Silent red equivalent. (yes, I know, the videos talks about the mx red version). On 8k freq., yes I agree 100%. great video anyways :)
This guy has help me so much and he doesn’t even know it
Lol the spacebar on the reds sounds like broken dreams and pain...
I don't see the appeal of coiled cables for keyboards
They look nice
its preference, usually people have color matched braided cables to match the overall look of the board.
they look cool. I guess it's the same with rgb lighting
honesty I liked how it typed at Best Buy, fell in love bought it home only to realize that it doesn't have physical arrow keys. SMH. im going to be exchanging it most likely because of lack of arrow keys.
are- are you serious? You bought a 60% keyboard and thought it would have actual arrow keys?
why do you need arrow keys lol
I'll just say that this keyboard is in the middle of poggers and unpoggers
It does kinda make sense in polling rate if you play a tonne of rhythm games like I do, i would buy the keyboard honestly but change out the switches from speed silver to like red or browns
didn't even know this existed
Probably because the embargo was lifted like 7 mins ago....
Because it was just released
i don't really pay attention to corsair much at all so that makes sense how i missed it.
Great Video, I love the collab with Hardware Canucks, yall should do it more.
