XL has a $75 off offer right now on their site. I’m on the fence, I want the original for the baking since I’ll be bringing mine abroad where appliances are nil, but the smart tech on the new one is nice for the set it and forget it features and even cooks exact rare, medium well which is insane.

Thank you for this detailed demo. I have been trying to decide and came across many videos that appear to be promotional instead of organic like yours. I am still undecided because I want evenly cooked food with the option to cook more or less with the same result. My kitchen is small so I'm leaning towards the original but would hate to make a purchase and they introduce a newer, improved version. I think I'll wait a little bit more, but will definitely decide before the new year. Thank you again.

Excellent review !!!! I think I would opt for the deeper dish. The shallower model is a little too close to the heating element for my liking, probably cutting down on some air flow, plus as food cooks sometimes it draws up and gets even a little higher. I even got rid of my old Pyrex and opted for the new deeper Pyrex glass bakers. Thank you for the link to those kitchen scissors !! This was truly an excellent demo .

Simple reason this test landed this way. With convection it requires 360 air flow to cook properly. You can not stuff a convection cooker. It simply will not cook right. I own both of these units and use them for different dishes or at the same time. They have different purposes. Look for discounts and sales and buy both.

Can you cook bread in the new one, say baguettes and biscuits for example. The original is much deeper which is nice for cakes and artisan size bread but I like the smart tech features on the new one. Both are exactly the same price on BBB right now. The place I’ll be bringing it to use won’t have any gadgets so the bread thing is pretty crucial for me. Bringing it to India to a small village so this will be the work horse for sure. XL seems like the better choice at the exact same price, but people love the original it seems. Thanks.

Thanks for the demo, but when we talking about grilling I’m thinking grill mark and grill taste . The chicken looks great but more like a baked one. I think I will pass this device. I appreciate your review.

Well, this was the best comparison I watched so far, but I also watched another demo, and the smaller Ninja did better in both test, so I just purchased the XL, I didn't unpack it yet, and glad I didn't, I feel now that this lovely lady cooks chicken the way I would, and the small original grill defiantly looked browner and more crispy, I also like the deep pan, also, why didn't the XL put a larger cooking element, doesn't make sense. But Gr8 demo, enjoy!!!!!

Thanks so much for your kind words. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. The XL Foodi Grill is great as an indoor grill for up to 6 people. I think the original Ninja Foodi Grill is a better air fryer. I use it multiple times a week. Thanks so much for watching!

I really enjoy your videos! I wish you would do them more often and more of them, but I'm just being spoiled, lol. You really enjoy cooking and it shows and you are so pleasant to watch. I'm replaying this for like the third time. I'm finally doing a whole chicken I bought from trader joe's and wanted to see how you did it. You have a great voice, too. Hope mine comes out as delicious as yours looked!

I have the one sold by Costco last year (physically more like the the original one). I also use it for baking. I have also used the Ninja baking kit pans which in the older model are pretty close to the heating element. My specific question is that with the loss of depth is it more difficult to bake and can the baking kit pans even be used?

So are the two whole chickens about the same size? I was surprised it didn't fit into the XL very well. The regular Ninja looks a lot larger inside.

I just found your channel. Wow, I am so impressed. I am trying to decide which Ninja foodie grill is best for me. I have limited counter space and a minimalist kitchen, more like a galley on a small boat. *(REALLY SMALL boat). So I need something in one unit that will bake, grill, sear, and roast. I don't care about the crisper part but I am leaning toward the original. Pricing is next: how much do I want to spend? Your demo proved the original will be my best option. Thank you for cutting through the marketing BS-I really appreciate your direct, hands-on show. I just subscribed, you made that an easy choice!
