    I love how my Ninja Foodi XL works and how great my food tastes coming out of it. But, had I known how difficult it is to keep the lid clean and that you can't clean behind the element..I never would have purchased it.

    Hi Lisa. I find a Lemon Juice steam bath will assist in cleaning the element area before applying any chemical based products. 'Barkeepers Friend' is another great product to use for breaking up a greasy surface and cleaning the pot in a smartlid, especially after a strong aroma curry.
    Thanks for the cleaning demo, we all should clean our appliances regularly.

      @@pressurecrisp I'm a Coconut Nut too.
      I'm going to make GF coconut macaroons using 2 ingredients. Deccicated coconut and coconut condensed milk. Regular condensed milk is fine to use if the other isn't obtainable.
      Combine well and scoop onto a baking sheet and bake @ 350 for approximately 12-15 minutes or until the coconut has brown tinges. You can airfry them as well. Delicious 👍🤤
      Add a few drops of lemon essence or zest of a lemon if you'd like a lemon flavoured macaroon.

    The lid is a pain to clean, but the easiest way to clean the splatter shield, grill grate and baskets is to put in the oven upside down and turn the oven onto Clean. I ran it for just an hour and the heat will turn all the gunk and grease to ash and they'll wash off easily.

    easy off no fume works well for under the hood I spray it directly on and around the burner and fan blades, just remove the filter screen first and spray it down in the bottom of the sink to let it soak separately, just follow the instructions on the can, I do it in the sink lid open so the excess runs out the vents on the back of the lid, then lightly scrub with a magic eraser sponge and repeat until its clean watch out for the sharp edges an old tooth brush is handy in the tight spots as well, then fill a spray bottle with water to rinse out, let it drip dry lid open with the back of the hinge in the sink, then lay a dish towel on the counter top, place the grill on the towel, close the lid and wipe down the exterior with a damp paper towel, then I run it on the lowest baking pre heat cycle when it says add food I shut it off remove the drip tray to dun in the dish washer with the screen and other accessories then wipe out any excess water dirt inside and under it easy but I sure wish they made those parts removable like an electric stove

    I'm thinking of switching to this one from my philips airfryer..
    I hate the philips because it's super hard to clean, and it smokes the whole house 😮‍💨😒
    Does this do the same smoke and smell as
    the airfryer??
    The cleaning process is the same I do to the airfryer, but this one is easier to reach to the fan and top to clean nothing is closed or hidden 🥷

    • @pressurecrisp
      @pressurecrisp  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It will smoke depending on what you're cooking-when I do a steak it will smoke a bit. other foods no. and I'm not going to lie -over time the nonstick will lose its not stickiness and will be hard to clean took me about 6 months but I was using it everyday. You can order replacements basket, griddle and grill part.

    We're supposed to clean our air fryers? :P lol
    I have the large all in one foodi and I DO put the bowl and inserts in the dishwasher, but I must admit, I don't clean the element bit that often, infact I think I've only ever cleaned it twice in roughly 3 years.
    But with that said, I sprayed an oven cleaner all over that element area, left it to do it's stuff, then rinsed the entire lid (I know, not recommended!) under a hot tap and it came out looking pretty good!
    There was quite a lot of yucky brown liquid, but afterwards it was a lot better, only a small amount of scrubbing with a brush required.
    The downside to cleaning the inner parts in the dishwasher though is the crisping basket is now rusty and flakes of the paint come off on food, so I'm not sure what to do about it
    A replacement basket over here is crazy priced (around $60-$70 USD) and I have to wonder given the air fryers age, if it's worth it
    I may end up getting one of those silicone baking things I saw in your previous air fryer video, that would solve the rust getting on food issue, but I fear it might block the air flow.

    • @pressurecrisp
      @pressurecrisp  ปีที่แล้ว

      True. The insert replacements are a bit pricey. Ninja should be coming out with new appliances in August. Or I agree just purchase a new one if it’s a few years old.

    • @averyvaliant
      @averyvaliant ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pressurecrisp Yea, I'm going to hold off for a bit, the foodi still works, although it has developed a bit of a fault, sometimes when I lift the lid, the cooking cycle doesn't stop
      That made me a little nervous!
      I probably won't get another large foodi, but more than likely the speedi or the grill one.

    • @pressurecrisp
      @pressurecrisp  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@averyvaliant a bit scary - I really like the Speedi. The cost gif a new one is 100.00 dollars in states. It’s light weight. I like it better than the XL. I don’t pressure cook a lot.

So we switched him to a grill and he loves it b ut once again dreading to see what it looks like-ill give him an excuse cuz he is 80 years old. :). I'll be cleaning his when I get back to NY

    I would have thrown that dirty unit out... not worth all the work to clean it and you can't clean behind the element. I did not like it that I could not clean behind the element in my Ninja Foodie grill... I gave up after five uses and put it away forever... I wasted my money and went back to the very easy to clean Cosori Air fryer... works just as well and so easy to clean... takes two minutes after each use. I use it two or three times per day for my steaks. I only eat steaks...
