    [Verse]
The cannibal mind will eat, no matter the cost
But I'm running out of chalk to outline my thoughts
And though you hung up long ago, I never finish our talks
There should be something here to show, but I don't know when to stop
    [Chorus]
I know that you are wondering why
It still seems like I am falling behind
I know that you are wondering why
It still seems like I am falling behind
    [Bridge]
    I shouldn't be here, I know
If I could move, I still wouldn't know where to go
    "Is it always this slow?"
Said the broken pony swallowed up by the snow
    [Outro]
You can build a problem anywhere you want one

The clone Superman in this movie is my favorite interpretation of an "evil" Superman. He feels so much like Superman, he cares about protecting Metropolis, he cares about protecting the innocent, but he's missing Clark Kent.
He's so in control of his own actions that it's chilling.
That and he doesn't fall for the red sun + kryptonite trick. Dude dealt with that like a pro.

Yeah this is honestly a great version.
Another version of the evil Superman I think is fantastic is ultraman from crisis on two earths, mainly because he is an evil equivalent to Clark Kent. The whole thing about clark is that he’s basically your friend Good Samaritan but on an epic scale and for this film they do an evil equivalent to that in which he’s basically a gang leader. Like the scene with president Wilson, it doesn’t come off as a sociopathic god talking down to an underlying but more as someone in the mob threatening someone for protection money. It’s such an interesting way to take it and it honestly fits really well

Let’s not forget how his King Kong inspired theatrics from standing atop the tallest skyscraper in Metropolis was an incredible display of how formidable of a fighter Superman can be in long distance combat!
I never had more sympathy for soldiers than in those moments. They knew that they were fighting a war that they could not win but they fought on anyway, bless their souls.
You know Superman is a true alpha male when people with guns are sweating bullets and afraid to shoot at him. Compared to the traditional Superman who nobody hesitates to shoot at.
Seeing Doppelgänger Superman use just his heat vision so effectively like that instantly reminded me of the prophecy in the Book of Revelation which says, “And the people shall say, “Who is like the beast? Who can go to war against him?!”
      Revelation 13:4
Or in other words: How do you fight something like that?!

    • @endershepard7117
      @endershepard7117 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

@@christopherauzenne5023I’m absolutely convinced that Doppelgänger Superman would’ve wrecked Doomsday and wouldn’t even have come closing to losing his life in the battle. Because he was just so efficient and tactical unlike Traditional Emotional Superman who gave his life to save a little girl. Leaving Metropolis and the world devoid of its greatest champion, savior and defender.
You know how you defeat Doomsday? The same way you defeat the Incredible Hulk. Throw him into Jupiter or 🪐 Saturn. Imprison them in gas giant planets devoid of any solid surface to propel themselves off of. Hulk Smash comes to an end on a planet like Jupiter!
The Superman that Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster created was a physical marvel and mental wonder from day one! Modern Superman however tends to just be a physical marvel and they need to really give Superman his Super-Brain back!

Honestly I'm surprised they weren't tempted in making this clone of Superman the Bizarro of this universe as it would give us a more terrifying Bizarro that wanted justice but with the lack of morals and all of the strength of Superman. However I do think it was better that this unnamed clone is his own person as it does act as a living personification of what Superman's mission to protect others would look like if the humble farmboy Clark Kent was gone

Lex's biggest problem is not Superman, it's the face he sees every morning in the mirror. For someone who's so brilliant he always falla in the temper trap he's subject to the tantrums of a infant. I don't know if he's the highest level intillect in the universe, he's up there up there but his emotional flaws detract from his potential. The temper trap is a very powerful thing if you have ever been in one it becomes a feed back loop that leaves you wheel spinning and you just flooring it and wondering why you ain't going anywhere you can't see your fault. I think this is partly what attracts people to Lex he connects to a part in all of us. Theres a saying I like to think I came up with but I've noticed almost everything has already been said maybe just in another way. If you don't have ambition your dead, and if ambition is all you have your the devil. That being said Lex stands pretty close to the edge and we sometimes see some humanity. CS Lewis wrote this. I live in the Managerial Age, in a world of "Admin." The greatest evil is not now done in those sordid "dens of crime" that Dickens loved to paint. It is not done even in concentration camps and labour camps. In those we see its final result. But it is conceived and ordered (moved, seconded, carried, and minuted) in clean, carpeted, warmed and well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voices. Hence, naturally enough, my symbol for Hell is something like the bureaucracy of a police state or the office of a thoroughly nasty business concern.
I think that last bit is Lex. The devil in a nice suit.

before this movie, my only introduction to Superman was with the JL/JLU cartoons, and as a young kid, this movie shook me in more ways than one. The deaths The brutality of Doomsday as he gutpunched Superman, how he bled, thecoldness of seeing somebody that looked like him drop Toyman, and the things I didn't pick up then like the grief from his friends all shaped my appreciation for the boy scout.

I honestly enjoyed Superman Doomsday from start to finish, and thought it was a good Superman movie that adapted the death and return of Superman with some interesting differences. The fight between Superman and Doomsday was especially brutal. Also, the fight between Superman and his misguided clone did start with a talk, but the clone was just too misguided in his ways. The clone was even willing to kill, and Superman needed the kryptonite and black suit because he simply didn't recover his full strength. Even when Superman was forced to kill his clone, it's clear that he didn't want to do it, and made sure that the clone knew that he would protect the people.

It's not official but i've always thought this movie is a sequel to Brainic attacks, since in that movie there's this scene when Lois realize how much Clark and Superman look alike, she demands to Superman to enter into a real relationship and also in that they say they will send Clark overseas and in this one he's supposed to go and later is supposed to be missing, so nobody suspects when he's not around while Superman is death.
Also for me this 8s the best conclusion to the fight between Supes and Doomsday. Since in the comic they both "put everything in this punch" at the same time, and in both BvS and the DoS movie he's just impaled because he attacks without thinking. Here the impact of the "super suplex" that is strong enough to kill Doomsday is obviously too much for Superman to survive.

This movie scared me as a kid and that was just the trailer. To me Superman was this untouchable guy so to see him bleed was just scary. I warched this movie for the first time 6 years ago, and i warched the fight BACKWARDS (stupid when i read it back, i know. I'm not proud of it 😅) i was left feeling like i was watching something i shouldnt be. Now coming back to it, i realise that the fight still has that fear over me...but the rest of the movie is laughable 😂.

I haven't seen this movie since it first came out, so maybe I should come back to it to be sure, but I generally feel like Reign of the Supermen>Superman: Doomsday>Death of Superman. If Death was WAY shorter & a single movie with Reign, I'd probably say it was the better adaptation of Superman's death. Funny thing is that I actually had to get back up of bed because I was having internet outages I wanted to fix, so I'm now typing this comment at almost 4 AM.

As an aside, just regarding the art, I really don't like the design of Superman's face in this one. It's like they took the DCAU design and then were like "MOAR CHEEKBONES! MOAAR!" But it doesn't look like cheekbones, it looks like someone smooshed his face. And Lex looks like a weird bobblehead.

I wouldn't even consider the clone superman to be that evil tbh, bro kills a child killer and tries the same with lex, kinda f'ed he kills the clones i mean they coulda been good clones. But he even gave superman the chance just to leave when he figured out they weren't matched. Bro just wanted to protect metropolis tho he totally mightve killed some of the military in the end 🤷‍♂️, but still bro shouldve just stole bludhaven or something im suprised noone in the movie looks up to him and hes just represented as evil in this movie. Sure he's not superman but like i wouldn't guarantee him as a villian either
