you can solve the inconsistency of instant RARs by doing the turnaround with a diagonal input to avoid dashbacks/misinputs. It's what the Chrom/Roy players usually do too

@@kiirbstomp It probably is, fox jumps and falls really fast. You also can't buffer downtilt here or you'll get an f-tilt making matters worse due to buffering intricacies. "Initial dash has a fixed length, unlike melee" I would like to note that technically you can access a few different initial dash lengths based on if you hold forward or release during the input
@@kyles5960 uh no maybe you're not as familiar with controls but once you go into run you can not turn around cleanly but as I said When it comes to dash dancing you can turn around during the initial dash at several different lengths. When I say holding forward, I do not mean hold forwards until you go into run. I mean if you tap forward and buffer and action, and if you hold forward for slightly longer before buffering the action it will result in different lengths of space. Try it!
You specifically might want to practice the landing crouch turn-around thing so you can mix up landing bairs, tomahawk d-tilts, and tomahawk grabs without your opponent knowing which you will go for.
@3:05 I think I know why the c stick is harder to turn around dtilt. I found that a diagonal doesn't register at 45 degrees. It's more like 35 to 40 from the y axis. Someone more interested in this can confirm the actual amount of rotation. Since the C stick is a macro and there's probably no delay between the stick and "attack" input, it's incredibly easy to start the joystick at the wrong angle even if you end up at the correct spot. When using the stick and tapping attack yourself, there's some delay. Even if you started moving the joystick from the wrong angle, by the time you press attack you've already likely set it in the correct area for a d tilt. I imagine the buffer issue mentioned is the same Thoughts?
In pivot cancel dtilt, you normally will face away from the opponent which isn't that useful. You can hit the angle to get forward facing dtilt but there's another way. If you hit the c stick down 1 frame after the pivot input you'll get forward facing dtilt. It sounds tight, but when you're just hitting two sticks at nearly the same time it's quite easy. I wonder if this could be used here to get the dtilt? Like maybe hit forward on the control stick and input dtilt with the c stick in one frame.
