I've been in some dark places recently man. Anxiety, and depression coming out of the Army. Thank you for this, I really need this.
Edit: Thank you for all the support guys. This is what I miss the most about the military. Thank you

@@ShawnRyanShow I think every veteran goes through something similar and some never speak about it. That's why we need stuff like this to help get through times in our life, especially when it comes to stuff like this.

Skylar Greene yo man I never served or know what it’s like but I know depression and anxiety one thing I’ve learned recently was the wim hof method, look it up and give it a try. First time in years I’m feeling so much better! Good luck to you and wish the best!

Skylar Greene he’s known as ice man, the breathing technique alone has been helping me so much. Dude has learned so many things about the brain because his was wife was suffering depression an anxiety an committed suicide. Check it out it’s nothing to lose

After 3 failed suicide attempts due to my battle with drink and drugs, I keep thinking “what’s the fucking point anymore?” Then I started watching Sean’s videos. Thank you Sean, you don’t know it but it’s keeping me steady right now when I needed it most. 🙏
Edit: Thank you for all your responses to my post. Thought I’d give a quick update, I’m 2 weeks clean from drink and drugs and from tomorrow I’m going into a facility in London for a 28 day rehab programme. It’s going to be long, tough road ahead but I’m finally ready to face my demons head on and once again get back to that happy young geezer I once was. Thanks again to Sean and all the Vigilance Elite community! 🙏
EDIT: 14 months clean and sober! Thank you Shawn and the vigilance community! ❤️🙏

Sorry man, I've thought about it myself but I'm starting to realize that my brightest days are after my darkest and facing my problems and working harder makes my baseline for my life slightly better and slightly higher.

Dingz904 don’t be that weak brother our mind can lead us to some fucked up places. I know about being down and out and I promise you this if u make that mistake on taking your life you will never be able to make a difference in someone else’s life. That’s the whole point of life I think is paying it forward so All I’m asking is to look at life that way and you will make a difference brother.
I don’t normally comment on these kinda things but something told me to.

The hardest part is to keep going when you have no idea what's in front of you, or if there's even anything there. But there always is and we have to push through the uncertainty to find it. Hope you're well man.. you can do it. I'd wager you're way way stronger than you may give yourself credit for.

I spent almost a decade in the infantry. I have started two successful companies and when it comes to motivation you are the first person that has kept the facts squared away. Everyone does try to tell you that you need to find a way to stay motivated 24/7/365. That shit is just impossible. Using you motivation as momentum and riding it like a wave is something I haven’t heard and that I will now pass to my employees.

I think the reason I respect men like this is because they did things with their lives that I failed to or never even tried to but they don't sit there like Sean said in the video and act like they piss excellence and wake up every morning motivated and ready to go they talk about their vulnerabilities they talk about their shortcomings they talk about the adversity that they dealt with in their lives and it makes you feel like maybe you're not as f*****-up as you thought you were

Many years ago while dealing in Vegas at TI I got to deal to a Buds graduate. I know that because he told me so, after I called him out . He smiled that I knew, and we chatted for a few. He went to his room and returned with his challenge coin, and gave it to me. At the time I didn’t know what it meant. After I learned however and to this day I keep it and it’s meaning close to me. I admire the SEALS. I am not one, however when I hold that coin in my hand I and close my eyes, I focus on what I want, what I must do to achieve that, how I succeed to get to that, mentally. I know I have not been pushed physically nor mentally to that point of failure. Yet I grin at the thought of anything that wants to take that away. Seeing the SEALS do that, although I’m now old,, still makes me lick my lips,, c’mon make me fail,,,,,FUQ

Shawn "shitcan your ego" Ryan nails it again.
1:20 - 2:03 describes me perfectly. Today, I had a problem being motivated and remembered this video. I have lost a fight or two in my time, but no one has ever kicked my ass as I do mentally. How I motivate myself when I am unmotived is, I start calling myself worthless, a loser, you're letting everyone down, stop being a p****y, etc.... It works 99.99% of the time. You're 100% correct about people thinking that you're always motivated because you were a SEAL and served in the military. I get that sometimes too because I served in the Army that I am always good to go, ready at all times, willing to jump in and take charge, but the truth is, some days I don't want to do anything at all. We're people too, the only difference is that we had a different job out of high school, the military, instead of going to college. I don't have a single regret either because, after the Army, I went to college. I was more mature andI took it more seriously than I did the first time. I went to college after graduating from high school and wasted my time and grandparent's money. It is my opinion that every able-bodied American should have to enlist in the military as Israel does.

This past year I have worked my tail off.. Lost my whole summer and a majority of time with my family... I was feeling sorry for myself because of the lack of time I had and the fatigue that comes along with it .. I was happy to make all this money but was recently unemployed . The motivation and crazy amount of work that was done got me through this period of unemployment ... and opened up major time for my son and I to create memories.. Now I am back to work and in full swing again... Thank you for this video...

I really respect you showing the true side of yourself, and know you overcome your struggles. I’m not a Navy seal, but I am a devil dog and lost all motivation when I got out, felt like I had no purpose, went from hero to zero. Like I have said in previous videos of yours I have since got over that with good therapy. I enjoy all the videos and really the uncut raw ones of yourself.
And btw, love the Harley engine in the background 👍🏻

It's all about self-discipline. Getting up and doing the shit that needs to be done even when you have absolutely no drive. The reward you get is a feeling of accomplishmen. The satisfaction of a job well done. A weight is lifted as you check one more thing off the endless "to do list." This in return produces motivation (well sometimes). Nothing that's worth having comes easy.

You're still a seal, never was... All the shit you're doing is worth the effort, hitting everything one rung at a time is the way to go... I'm glad you're not a quitter and can motivate others to do the same. Keep your presence and and your head up, it's working towards that goal on your off days that matter the most.

Love the honesty man. That’s the problem we all face sometimes is living a fantasy world. Sometimes reality sucks! Life is not always good but it doesn’t mean it’s the end! Let’s pick it up and get motivated!! Suck it up and pay the man! Yes sir!

Shawn that was what I needed today. It’s you saying things just like they are and not sugar coating it that make you so damn awesome. I’m in a situation where I’m really trying to get my motivation back after dealing with some real shit sandwiches. That really helped man. Thanks for what you do.

There is something about hearing Sean saying I MAY get to the unicorn, or at least a flannel, but seriously; " I bitch. I'm not always motivated" I don't need to recite it; You heard it. That hit me like a sledgehammer coming out of his mouth! A man with integrity & a moral compass I SAF would & do trust.(& If I lived; Id bet the memories would be priceless!) Love the honesty! IMMENSE RESPECT for Sean & all who have served our Armed Forces! Past, present & future! T.Y. for ALL you do!!!

Hell yea... it also helps to take the first 5-10 minutes of every day meditating/reflecting on what you're gonna do that day, but more importantly.... *WHY* you want to be doing these things. Focus on the reasons you began your journeys. Focus on the why... and give yourself credit for the progress you've already made. Visualize that finish line and remind yourself WHY you aren't gonna give up today.
