How about the Dad being a great Dad and support his son by finding a Navy SEAL to help him. This is what we need more of in our society, to teach, honor, and value fatherhood. It is sorely missing.
Strong and honourable male role models are in short supply unfortunately. We need more mentors on the bridge of adolescence for boys who are by and large ignorant, naive and stoopid.
flawed statement, sounds nice though. What if you thought you couldn't...but, overcame by some slim margin. Then the "I can't" thought you had was wrong. One is never always right regardless. Sometimes,...many times, one is wrong; and must prove to themselves that they were wrong to doubt themselves and/or foolishly believe they could when they in fact can not.
I’m a high school drop out and had periodic moments of homelessness. Enlisted in the Army, went airborne, deployed, and was honorably discharged. I am now gainfully employed, have a family, and will graduate with my MBA in September. I shed many tears but still moved forward from support of those around me. People want to help those who help themselves. Airborne.
Had a friend who had a son that would be considered a loser in high school. Always in trouble. Had trouble with authority. He was smart and had awesome grades, but that did not make up for all his other issues. After graduating high school, he joined the Army. Something in him transformed. He found something he loved. Structure. After two years, he applied to West Point under a program available to current solders. He was selected, went to the Prep School and was admitted. He graduated and after a few years, he is now serving as a Captain with an infantry unit.
I'm training to be a Navy Seal when I told my friends this is what I want to do they laughed at me and said you could never do that I told my dad and he said dude think realistic that's way to extreme for you your to nice a guy. Someday I'm going to achieve this.

His story is kinda misleading. I expected him to say "I was a criminal, I did drugs, I beat people up" instead he just says "I didn't study in school." Really? That makes you a loser?
@Dave Chappelle I don't think Scott went to Iraq for the money. Once you do all the accounting and take into account all of the risk, the money isn't that much. Operators, operate and given a chance to do it free from all of the red tape, many of them are going to take it because sitting on the sidelines can be soul crushing. One thing to remember about war, very few people go thinking it will be them going home in a body bag. He would probably be alive today if the corporate greed, logistical inefficiency or government red tape allowed them to have armored trucks and fully automatic weapons. Not much you can do when 30 7.62 x 39 rounds comes screaming through an aluminum truck body in less than 10 seconds.
@Dave Chappelle well, unless youre into motivational speaking like the guy in this video, those special forces people tend to only know one life to live. anything else is well, less.
Dave Chappelle you don’t have a clue what you’re talking about. Those of us who serve or have served in the military, do what we do because we want to. When the highly skilled operators enjoy what they do for a job, it’s not about the money, it’s about the service, doing what you enjoy and what you’re good at. You’re out of you element and you’re opinion is without any experience in this line of work. Move on!
some of these cucks just want to cry about those who protect others where they are too cowardly or afraid to die for their people, i would love to serve but i doubt i would be allowed in due to depression and some other mental issues. but my thoughts on protecting others with my life is more than all of it.
This is my dream. Since I was 9 years old I had my mind made up. I’m 14 now and I started working out in august. I’m proud of myself for training. I went from being able to do 1 pull up to doing 15. My inspiration is Chris Kyle after seeing the movie American Sniper.
Never give up man. Keep going till you can’t no more. Your body may be shaking and begging for you to stop, but it’s mind that counts. The brain is powerful and your body is only there to support. A strong mind and will, will you get you anywhere. You CAN do it.
GoatPickle amazing. I also plan on becoming a SEAL when I graduate from highschool. Never ever ever give up on your dream. You can really do anything that you put your mind to. You don't even need to be the most athletic person in the world. The thing that gets you through is sheer will and determination. One thing that really inspires me is Robert O'Neill The man that killed Osoma Bin Laden. He didnt even know how to swim when he went into BUD/S and he made it to the most elite team in the World, Seal team 6 (DEVGRU) I will become a SEAL or I will die trying.

I love stories like this one. I was a high school drop out, who joined the military. Once I completed boot camp and initial training, I reported to my first duty station. There, I was fortunate enough to have had several mentors who helped me rise from E-1 to E-5 in a very short time. They also encouraged me to go back to school and earn my undergraduate degree. I left the military, graduated from college, and went to officer candidate school. My commissioned service culminated in a graduate degree, and retirement after 20 honorable years of service. Was I special? Don’t think so. However, I was motivated by someone who told me that I was a nobody, and would never amount to anything. That stinging assessment of the teenage me drove me to prove them wrong.

I wanted to be a seal but was blessed with blazing lack of speed and height. But what I lacked in brawn I more than made up for in grit, determination and smarts. I became an Army Combat Engineer and a Danm good one. Not everyone can become a Seal or Green Beret as it is a combination of a lot of factors. But you can be an awesome soldier. This advice was given to me by a mentor of mine who completed Buds at 28 after 10 years in the navy. Kept putting in for it until they took him. Did multiple rotations in Iraq, Afghanistan until his body could do no more. Just retired from the navy after 28 years. Still looks like he is 25 but has the wisdom of Yoda...

Still, our young and strong went off to fulfill their duty. Today, with so many divisive, crazy, disappointing points of view...our young and strong still go off to defend this country and all it stands for. Wow! A very real life story of a man’s turning point. Inspirational and Personal. Sad for the loss of his friend and trainer. These Navy Seal Men are Awesome! And that’s “Love and Respect” coming from a Vietnam Era USMC Sergeant! Salute!
Wow, now that's a good story! It's interesting how men who pursue and then excel in military life often have these amazing stories with those clear, defining moments that took them from a path of a loser to a life of excellence!
I have a cousin that was SEAL... civilian life ended up being his greatest challenge. After being deployed into combat all across the world for over a decade, he couldn't adjust to life as a Civ. It's been 20 years now, and he still hasn't really adjusted, and i feel the only reason he hasn't killed himself yet, is simply the drive to not 'ring out'.

as long as you put your mind to it and you have faith and hope in it you’ll get there, no matter if it’s hard or easy the only way to get there is to start, no matter what anyone else says or thinks only thing that matter is what you think, the sky is the limit follow your dreams and keep pushing no matter how hard it is
My Dad, career Navy, tried for 3 months to convince me out of enlisting. His reasoning was that if he can talk me out of it, I have no business joining. He then spent the next 5 months preparing me for what I was about to do. Best decision I ever made
Congrats Chad. I’ve been with my wife since my stepson was a little boy. He’s been allowed to quit everything he does if it is difficult or he fails at first. She has literally tried to “protect” him from the world to the point he is now 18 year old school dropout. Unemployed. He sits in his room that his mom allowed a tv, Xbox, Nintendo, wii, amazon fire stick and Apple TV (yet no alarm clock). He sleeps until whenever he wants, plays on his electronics all day. He’s even been caught peeing in a water bottle so he wouldn’t have to go to the bathroom. I consider him a fully functioning quadriplegic. I see the potential in that kid and have no say. It’s truly sad to witness. And what’s worse is because he’s so isolated and is always being praised by her for his less than par effort, he truly thinks he’s doing good. I believe the best thing for him is to get away from us.
That is her compensating for the lack of his biological father. You need to ensure her that you have taken the role of the father and help him break into the real world.
Sorry for your loss of your brother and mentor!! You honor him in meeting the challenge that he knew you could do! I had a mentor like that when I was going through E.O.D. School! I never got the chance to thank him. God bless you
This…this is motivation, I’m not gonna be a Frogman but I will be a deputy sheriff. My original job plan was to be in the 72nd ranger battalion but that didn’t last long when I started to watch police tributes and realize how cool sheriffs/officers are. So I went from want ping to be in the military to wanting to be a deputy sheriff.
My older Brother Served in the Navy and Went back in I had a Navy Vet ask me if Mike is my Brother, When I said "yes" He went on and told me What a Hero he was. I stopped him and said "While that's all well and good For me MIKE was and forever will be a A$$HOLE (He broke my nose Three times)

Wow! A very real life story of a man’s turning point. Inspirational and Personal. Sad for the loss of his friend and trainer. These Navy Seal Men are Awesome! And that’s “Love and Respect” coming from a Vietnam Era USMC Sergeant! Salute!
Hats off to you Chad, pass on the flame and torch and mentor the younger ones coming up. Its something to look into
Those that thumbed down this video failed in my eyes! Watched from Manitoba.Seals save lives in need!
Haven’t been touched by words like these that give you chills in a minute. Definitely an amazing story into a motivational speech.
Ahhhh, a *true* chad.
*i see what you did there*
if his name is chad and he isnt from chad he is nothing to me😤
R.I.P Scott Halvenston! Fl is proud of you and you are not forgotten! True Warrior,Patriot and American hero! You did him Proud Bubba lol cheers 🍻
I had this realization years after highschool. Fortunately before my 30s.
Love this, every young man needs time with someone like Scott.
Wow, now that's a good story! It's interesting how men who pursue and then excel in military life often have these amazing stories with those clear, defining moments that took them from a path of a loser to a life of excellence!
Ok his line of thinking... I love this guy.
The power of the mind is limitless if you have the drive ! Great motivation video 😎😎
Great story and video . How lucky you are to have met him ! Thank you for your service 🇺🇸
Thanks, I needed to hear that right now
“Never for any reason do anything to anybody, ever, for any reason, no matter who, or what, or where, or where you’re going, or where your coming from, for any reason, no matter what, ever. And that’s a quote I live by.” -Michael Scott
THIS is one of the best video's I've ever viewed. Well Done.
Chad came to to my church Anchorage Baptist Temple in Alaska and I really enjoyed his message that he shared with us.
GOD BLESS THE NAVY SEALS..MARINE'S, MILITARY, AIR FORCE'S..🌹🌎🌍🌏😇
as long as you put your mind to it and you have faith and hope in it you’ll get there, no matter if it’s hard or easy the only way to get there is to start, no matter what anyone else says or thinks only thing that matter is what you think, the sky is the limit follow your dreams and keep pushing no matter how hard it is
Pain makes you stronger, fear makes you braver, heartbreak makes you wiser.
😇
Drakesden That’s been more than discussed. We’ve been through years of counseling. The doctors don’t even know why she can’t parent him.
@@SnookOnTheFly leave her - she is the loser. Not him.
Thanks!

Sorry for your loss of your brother and mentor!! You honor him in meeting the challenge that he knew you could do! I had a mentor like that when I was going through E.O.D.
School! I never got the chance to thank him. God bless you
I have met Chad... I'm ex military.... 20 minutes into our convo he goes.... yea I was a SEAL.
Was what happened
There’s so much inspiration I got from this man I watch this at least once a week.
"Forged by adversity"!!!!! I love it.
The part about his mentor passing away was heart breaking
Outstanding Chad! Thanks brother…God bless you and your ministry!
joins seals for approval
Yes
God bless all of you guys thank you for protecting our families and beautiful United states of America
This gave me inspiration
True! You're always a winner deep down if you're a SEAL, even if u end up homeless after your servics
4:58-5:10
I'm in this situation rn,
I will take that pain,
I will suffer,
and "I'll die before I quit"
I'll achieve my goal.
Me: watching this getting hyped up
TH-cam: "Oh youre having fun let me add an ad to ruin your vibe
i met him at my church and he is one heck of a storyteller. fantastic man
Changes starts in your thoughts ❤
All the respect in the world for seals and all military branches.
My older Brother
Served in the Navy
and
Went back in
I had a Navy Vet ask me
if Mike is my Brother,
When I said "yes"
He went on and told me
What a Hero he was.
I stopped him
and said
"While that's all well and good
For me MIKE was and forever will be a
A$$HOLE
(He broke my nose
Three times)
PFC thomas W. Well in Australia we all think people in the navy are gay
@@masonicperkins every one thinks that plus everyone in australia is an asshole too
morgan bond hahahahaha yes, yes we are. It’s because we live on an island away from everyone else we never developed social skills
Jared Perkins na mate we have bulk chicks now
That's called assault my dude.
This dude has a good voice for story telling, and good at it.
That was awesome ! Thank You for sharing
Reach up with your right hand as high as you can, now lower it down, now try to reach again only a little bit higher.. told to me a long time ago . Goes the same in life.
gonna remember this when i try to be a marine raider
Get some
I love this story. I listen to this video all the time whenever I need motivation
Officer: So why were you speeding? Me: Well you see sir.... The only limit you have is whatever you think your limit is!!
Great conclusion Chad. Same principle I repeat over and over to my kids. What we CAN control is how we respond to hardship/adversity. Great reinforcement for them to hear it from you.
This just makes me want to become a army ranger even more halfway their just made it out of basic training
How is it in the army
the last minute of this speech convinced me that this guy is a stoic.
Hey chad I read your book. Dude an awesome inspiration to me. I have been evangelizing to people kind of like you do.
