    This is your grandmother. I liked your presentation very much. I just don't know what you're talking about.

    Great video man. I'm eye-ballin' the 701 now and might get it. Consider putting all of your microphones very close together next time as you were talking partially away from the one microphone and this could have minimized volume a little. Thank you.

    Nice video. Only thing I would add is that when doing the picture in picture pop, maybe label the model of the mic being shown for those who are not familiar with the specific brand/model. Thanks for posting.

    Hi, really useful! Thanks. The external power supply could be made with any powerbank on the market (1:16)?
    Cheers mate.

    Will the DR-701D replace the camera audio if I feed the camera HDMI (clean) output to the Tascam HDMI input in the Tascam HDMI output? My Nikon probably doesn't have the timecode feature but has a clean HDMI output. Again, will it replace my camera audio in the Tascam HDMI output feed, and can it be a clean feed for live broadcast? If so do you need to record to do this?

    Your link to the powerbank is broken. Can you please let us know what powerbank you're using? Is it still working with no issues Thank? Thank you.

    good video. IMO you need a lens with a shallower DOF because all that background is quite distracting.

    • @DigitalDials
      @DigitalDials  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yea you are right! Since my main camera is my GH4 and I was using it in the video, I had to borrow a Canon XA10 to shoot the rest of the video. I did zoom in all the way on most of the shots to show less background but it still doesn't compete with a Cinema Camera. Thanks for noticing!

    would you provide me a itemized list of the equipment accessories? Your video answers my inquiries exactly. also what tripod and panhead are you mounted to?

    • @DigitalDials
      @DigitalDials  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All the equipment that is mounted to the tascam is linked in the description. As for the the tripod and head, it is a cheap Magnus VT-4000 tripod. After using this tripod, I can't say I would recommend it. You would be much better off with a nice Benro tripod.

    Great video! I'm wondering how did you set up the lav mic to the tascam? I thought I could go straight into the "ext in 1/2" but it doesn't seem to work? Did you have to get a 3.5mm to XLR converter?
    Please help! I am new to this setup.

    • @DigitalDials
      @DigitalDials  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You need to set the Tascam to "EXT IN" in order to record through the "ext in 1/2" port. On the first page of the menu, second item down it will say "SEL." Click on that and change "IN 1-2" to "EXT IN."

    Do you know if this set up with the Tascam and a Sony a6300 camera will work? I won't need shot gun mic but i will need to put external battery for everything, and monitor on top.

    The 70d model requires an attunator cable from the line out to the mic in of the camera I read to lower the db by 25. Does this unit also require it?

    Hi! Great review! I have one problem with Hdmi cable connected with Tascam and GH5. Camera displays ”TV-output in progress” when trying to check recordings from camera display. Any ideas solving this?

    • @DigitalDials
      @DigitalDials  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      i know exactly what your talking about. it is very frustrating. the only way to view playback us to unplug the hdmi from the recorder.

    Thanks DD, I have a question regarding the slate function if you are shooting multi camera, does this work? Does it generate timecode, & if so, one that you can show visually to be filmed by various DSLR cameras?

    • @DigitalDials
      @DigitalDials  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've never used the slate function so I can't answer that but I can tell you that it does generate time code but in your circumstance it would be the DSLR giving the Tascam start/stop and timecode instructions. As far as I know you can't use the Tascam to give another device timecode. You might be able to dasychain by running timecode from a dslr to the tascam and then running an hdmi out from the tascam into your dslr. But that would only work if your dslr accepts timecode. In short, I don't think it would work. The old fashion clapping in front of the camera might be your best bet. Hope that helps!

    How do I attach a Rode Link Wireless lapel mic to this unit?

    • @DigitalDials
      @DigitalDials  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I added a neck strap to the unit by the red handles and so if I need to carry it or hook miscellaneous accessories to it I can. you could do just as well with an extra long shoe mount extension. hope that helps!

    • @treeoakfilms
      @treeoakfilms 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks bro! but i meant like what cable or connection would i need to attach a wireless rode link? Do i just plug in the receivers cable into the external mic plug?

    • @DigitalDials
      @DigitalDials  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      either cable that comes with the rode link either the male xlr adapter or the 3.5mm cable will work just fine

    I did used this with 10000mah power bank and my unit is literally dead it is not turning on ... i wont recommend using powerbank ...

    • @DigitalDials
      @DigitalDials  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is very strange. I got the idea of using a power bank from Curtis Judd. I have been using mine with a power bank for a few months without any problems. I do recommend putting in some AA batteries to act as a backup power source to the power bank.

    • @amrithshankarkp
      @amrithshankarkp 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no the thing is .. usually all those power banks will not provide enough power to the recorder .the chances of circuit breakages are very high in this situation . i Got my product repaired now. and the technician strictly recommends not to use it with power bank anymore for this. i was using four tracks so the load increased and lead to damage for one layer of power circuit . now my unit turns on only when it gets the actual power which is needed for smooth running ..
