Great info for those who are starting out. Knowing what to look for is a very important step in the learning process for new riders so they can stay as healthy as possible and still have fun while learning to ride!! Injuries while riding, especially younger kids and adults, usually leads to the rider not wanting to get back on the bike because they get scared!! Good info brother...
Definitely go with something you can stand over flat-footed. You will feel way more confident like the video said. I like my bikes a little smaller, they are lighter, I can toss them around, and pickup easier when I crash (yes you are going to crash about every time you go trail riding, something will happen unexpectedly or some puddle or rut will throw you and I've been riding 20 years). A smaller bike is just more fun I think too! A 110/125/150 is plenty of power
This is actually one of the best videos I have found for considering trail bikes. Having an adult rider get on the CRF125 gives you perspective on the height. So many of these videos are only showing kids on the bikes. Thanks a lot. Great work.
Should definitely keep in mind this guy isn’t very tall I’m 6-6”1which is nothing crazy but he would look like a kid riding it compared to me riding it. So if you’re a little bit taller ide go for a bigger bike.

I have a 2019 Honda crf230f and it is a great trail bike for me It’s not as fast as I want it but it’s still a good bike I would love to have a cr125 but I don’t think I could handle it
an older bike like that will have a pretty mean powerband if you haven't had a 2 stroke before, and its gonna take some getting used to. The 06 and 07's are practically built proof, and I'd say once you can comfortably wring the 230s neck or ride pretty hard, you'll be more than ready for the upgrade!

Great video! Another reason if you're new to the sport to buy one of these...maintenance/repairs. These air cooled Yamahas and Hondas are pretty bulletproof compared to a liquid cooled trail bike (250x-WR250) that needs to have valves shimmed etc.

Just upgraded from a 2012 TTR 125 to a brand new 2022 CRF250F and it was definitely well worth it because of the fuel injection. I really recommend the Yamaha ttr , it is responsive, easy to learn on and its a 4 stroke which is easier to learn on because 4 strokes are a bit slower than 2 strokes . 2 strokes are used for racing.

if you've never had/rode a dirtbike before, you're in a tricky spot. There's not a whole lot of big bikes that are super beginner friendly, but if you are experienced a yz250f is great. However, by the demeanor of the question and the base of which it is on, I recommend the TTR230

Great review! Just bought my son a new '21 TTR 125LE. He loves it. I ride a '21 Raptor 700R-SE. I've been at it a bit. Like 30yrs. Lol. Thanks. - Ohio
Great job guys. Keep up the good videos! My first bike was a 1986 XR80 as a 10 year old. Many years later, riding a KTM 250 EXC. My kids are starting on a PW50. Their next bike is probably a CRF110.
Glad I found this use to ride dirtbikes but I wasn't ever riding my own bike just borrowed definetly a good video when beginning to look for a bike what legends
My first bike is a 2018 TTR-230! I've ridden trail and track with it. It's been a great bike! Far more capable than people told me, and more than I expected.
Love the videos! I try to remember your tips every time I ride!!
JoeButler02 thanks for sharing 👍🏻 we are happy to help!
Every time I rode my ttr 230 on the track I was casing jumps. Maybe it's cuz im to fat! 🤣
@@joescott4764 definitely need to be in the right gear and have momentum for some of the jumps I've been over. I don't usually try to do any that are too big yet. I've only been riding for one season.
@@JoeButler02 Nice bro... keep riding pretty soon you'll be sending it over anything you want!

they allow trail bikes at motorcross tracks?
I started on a Honda CRF 125, I’ve now moved onto a husqvarna tx300i. I still ride it and it’s good for throwing around
wish i could find a used bike in my area that i could pick up sadly after 8 months of searching i still cant find anything worth grabbing looks like i might be forced to go new and finance
Same
Same. I live in MN. Not a lot of options
same
Y’all are legit. Great advice for anyone considering get into the sport. Cheers!
Subbed a long time ago Amigo - Love your stuff !
OBI- WAN thanks for the support! We appreciate it
i've been riding a crf110f for 1 year and need a crf125f so thank you for this vid and i will so my mam and dad
I just bought a ttr 125 and I recommend it its a great bike!
I’m 13 years old what bike should I get the highest money I can afford is 500 If lower that would be better I will be a beginner btw

Such a great video
I started on a TTR125 and then 6 months later moved on to the TTR230 which is awesome for me and will be the bike I stay with.
You guys should do "how to get through a rhythm section" video. I tried last weekend and wrecked really hard so it would be nice to get some help with that
Matthew Abromeit we will put that in our idea box! Thanks for the suggestion
@@TheMxFactory alright, thank you guys!
I just got a used xr 400r and it’s going to be a project bike...soon to be dream bike
I’ve been riding a bike with a clutch for a while so now I’m getting a YZ125 two stroke or a YZ250 fourstroke
That’s a good choice
Get the 4T they are so much better and more reliable. Also you can change the mapping to make them respond differently.
My dad got us both old bikes, '86 cr 500 '90 kx 80 and I love my bike obviously the 80. It's a full on race bike and This is my first dirt bike.
Almost my birthday been wanting one for years might get my first 🙂
i’m hoping u get it bro
The Honda 125f is a UNIT, I’ve never had mechanical problems, never had to replace anything and it’s honestly a rocket.
I have never rode and am looking for a good bike so this helped
I tell you that I am 35 years old and I am thinking of buying my first dir bike, I was thinking of yz250f, but with your video it is clear to me that it is better to start with a ttr or equivalent. Thanks !
On my opinion I would rather buy a new one for Motorcross and old one for training.
I already have a dirt bike and I have been riding for years and I just wanted to see what you were saying. To be honest I’m glad my first bike was not a trail bike I love my power and my suspension. So yea
my 6'8" ass cant find a lot but your video really helped out
Thank you for your logic. Some videos say buy a wr250 or a cr250. That's so stupid. A beginner needs a mellow bike and one he can touch the ground on with his feet. All these other bikes will do is get you hurt. Good video.
Cant go wrong with a 95 xr250
Yz125, good price, great beginner bike, light, plenty of power. And the added bonus of being the best dirtbike ever created
The best beginner bike is cr 500
Max Philp maico 700 even better
Stalitic 1000 gsxr better
@@birddude31235000 mxr even better

Love this vids they teach me so much u should come to Australia 🇦🇺
Jack H we would love to come to Australia Jack! We’ve already had discussion about trying to make it over there
The Mx Factory yea ok the Cronin would make it hard for travails to
I’m a total noob so I appreciate these videos! Thx guys 🤙
I really recommend the Yamaha ttr , it is responsive, easy to learn on and its a 4 stroke which is easier to learn on because 4 strokes are a bit slower than 2 strokes . 2 strokes are used for racing.
I have 2 2 strokes and I don’t race…
i’m 5’8 would it be good for me?
My son and I love you man! He thinks you’re amazing (he’s 10).
Im 14 years old and on a budget
What is the best bike to buy (can be second hand)
same bro lemme know what u find
I have been riding a card 125 seens I was 11 and I’m 14 now and it’s a great bike
@@mtbjuan7648 what bike is it?

I just bought a clean 2008 TTR 125 with a big bore kit . I love it . It runs nice . I definitely already want a YZ 250 lol
Started out on my ttr 50 now I’m on my ttr 125 cause I can’t stand a 2 stroke sound😅
Pls don’t gimme hate
I'm 15 rn and i recently started learning how to ride a bike, i didnt even know how to change gear when my dad made my drive. IT WAS A HONDA 125 FOR MY FIRST DRIVE
I’m 5’10 so you have any suggestions?
You helped me choose TTR 230. Its perfect. 5'11 180. Thx
Good luck trying to find a bike now! Haha
You have noooooo idea how helpful this is. THANK YOU SO MUCH
I am 15 and 6.2 I had a Honda 80 for about two years then sold it about two years ago what do you recommend under 2000 dollar budget and preferably 2 stroke
Mate get a yz125. Best 2 stroke for the price.
Your really tall like me I’m 5.11 and 12
@@andrewv4491 yeah it kinda sick for a lot for a lot of stuff to be so tall
@@bobbypruce8272 thanks for the reply will keep my eyes pealed
Garret Lemaster yeah but it’s annoying for others
Just earned yourself a sub like and a comment. Appreciate the tips man. I been looking into getting a bike myself. I’ve been doing bmx my whole life, n I’m 23 now so it’s time!
I’m 15 what bike should I get and I’m also a little experienced with a clutch and know how to shift
Either a klx 140 g, crf 150f, or if your on the taller side a ttr 230 or similar large trail bike
Or be like me at 14 and get a yz 125
Mason Reilly I might be getting a kx 85 tomorrow
Mason Reilly but thanks
been riding for while but i just thought why not watch it
What’s a good affordable bike what is it called ?
As a day 0 newbie rider, thanks for the tips Tyler you’re the man just came home with a KX450 🤙🏻
Your a newbie and thought youd just get a 450? Good luck....
I’m a 6’3 210 pound 15 year old what size bike should I get? I was thinking a yz250f but I don’t know what size would be right for me
if you've never had/rode a dirtbike before, you're in a tricky spot. There's not a whole lot of big bikes that are super beginner friendly, but if you are experienced a yz250f is great. However, by the demeanor of the question and the base of which it is on, I recommend the TTR230
Just about to start my journey. Great and helpful info. Very simple n quick. Great vid man. Cheers
Hmmm I started off with a yz250 2 stroke. Wish me luck!! 🤣
This the first time I actually hit subscribe when someone asked me to. Love the channel, thanks for the knowledge and content❤️🇸🇪
I personally prefer manual bikes to the new automatics it's just nicer to ride I think cause ur more ingaged in what ur doing while riding sorry just thought I'd say this
