This group has to be my favorite of the women's categories. Pure talent everywhere.
All these girls are strong, but Reeves has to be my favorite just because of her demeanor. She even missed one and gave a little shrug like she knew she'd tried her best and wasn't a big deal.
It's a fantastic performance by the jury. They absolutely had centre stage and showed those narcissistic athletes who really are important in weightlifting.
I love Loredana! I hope she'll be getting even better for the olympics
Is the bar above the head? Is the bar locked? Are they in control? GOOD LIFT end of story. I don’t care how it gets there. So sick and tired of seeing these competitors get robbed by idiot judging. Change the rules or stop holding the competitions.

The Davies snatch was a incorrect call in my opinion. All of here bending and extending occurred on the way down, before she hit bottom. This is OK until you get to bottom. During recovery B&Es are then incorrect movements. Her arms remained nicely locked in her recovery.
The jury are a disgrace, need to get rid of them!

Ive been watching almost every session, Jury seems very inconsistent with some of these calls, extremely harsh on some and very lax on others.

Interesting to see that a committee considers themselves irreproachable enough to decide what countries can and can not compete, but then demonstrates hypocrisy by creating a loophole. It’s just stupid stuff. OMG. Kid’s stuff.
IWF is well known to be ultra-trash all around. Out of touch with its own lifting community, rife with corruption and incompetence, and completely clueless with how to make the sport grow or even survive. It's sadly the largest and most official body that weightlifting has.
Yes, Olivia is great. Novelty creates a lot of buzz. She IS the future. HOWEVER, it will take years before she is the caliber that Toma is.
What do you mean by caliber? Reeves has already out totaled Toma.

@@nammas8211 That's not what he meant. He means she's still a rookie and has a long way to go to reach her max potential. She is clearly stronger than Toma thus can lift more but Toma is at the top of her game, she just needs to get back into the same form she was a few years back. Reeves easily has it in her to be the worlds best in her category. Just needs more experience.

Definitely not complaining though. Gold's easily one of my favourite athletes to watch. She brings good energy.

Don’t know about the latter but the former got a special invite
So the US is here because they could not compete in the Pan Ams due to safety reasons. Europe gave them an invite so they can qualify for the olympics but they cannot medal in the europeans. As for Israel, they compete in European athletic games because they are a part of the European Athletics Association, they've been a member since 1990 i think. It's a cultural and political thing where basically no middle eastern country wanted to play nice with Israel so they got a lifelong membership to EuropaGym.
@@GnarKill20 There has been precedent for the Israel situation. In the 1930s Egypt competed in the European Championships since there was no African Federation and no Worlds also until 1938. As Egypt was a leading WL country it was decided they could lift in the Europeans.
The elbow wobble rule is a crock. Could it be that the judges know it, too, and are being apparent jerks so that the rules committee is forced to try again after Paris?
These juries are absurd and they are making Oly qualification a function of where you compete.

I know why the USA team competed at Euros. The question is, why send athletes who have no chance to qualify for the olympics? They cant medal, so the only reason they go is to have a total high enough to qualify. Like the first lifter, she has no chance as long as Olivia is in the picture.
Experience of high level competition is valuable.
I guess its more like practice at an international stage. The environment and complexities of an international stage are much more different than a state or even national competition. A lot of coaches playing mind and number games with attempts to try to force other athletes to take attempts they aren't prepared for or force other athletes to take higher numbers than originally planned. That kind of competition politics happens the most during international competitions.
