That’s not true at all. I’ve never competed but I had a pretty good axle clean and press and I only ever did double overhand like that. The real trick is to have the explosive power to give it inertia to just clear your belt.
@MambyJamby1 maybe for a snatch, but these are clean and jerk exercises. Watch how the worlds strongest men do it and you will see double overhand, and then they roll it up their chest before the overhead press.
nope, its an axle barbell, everyone uses a mixed grip. In an axle press, the bar is wayyy too thick to double overhand. she was using the proper technique. also its worth noting that the clean is the hardest part of an axle press, as demonstrated by iron biby, eddie hall, mitchell hooper, etc.
Those elbow wraps are not for protection, they are designed to increase the press power by a factor of 35%. All respect to the woman of Norway who was not wearing elbow wraps, but for fairness she should. Hope she reads my comment.
Definitely tough. Average male could not do this. To all the guys thinging pushing big weights on the machine in the gym think they can do this. Lifting free weights alis totally different.
Wow.... clearly there is no restriction for testosterone usage. It's very impressive when the ones who look feminine display their strength. The manly ones should have a different bracket.

Lot of these girls fly through the first two lifts in the overhead medley just to get completely stapled by that "anchor yolk", tough difficulty curve. Out of 25 only 2 got the 3rd lift. Very tough tuning on the frame/stone carry event too, most of the competitors couldn't even budge the frame.
Is there a no weightlimit category? I would have liked to see my old gym classmate (she was in a different program, but had gym class with us since we had more of it) having tried something like ths, but she was 6'4" and well above 90 kilos and more deffed than anyone I saw on this field.
I was confused the whole first minute. Almost convinced myself that the one on the left was simultaneously competing in a different event, as ridiculous as that setup would be 🤣 Honestly I respect her determination to keep trying but this is too hilarious for me to take this competition seriously.
