She was Maccabi champ in OL two years ago at the Maccabi Games, sometimes called the Jewish Olympics. Had she competed in weightlifting in the Maccabi Games back in 1973 (the games I competed in as a middle-heavyweight, 90k) in the same weight class she is now (71k), she would have won a silver medal, beating three of the men. - @av4840

I suspect it's because most of the countries in their region won't be seen on the same platform with an Israeli athlete.
