Is there ever a case where a therapist SHOULD tell a client to watch their channel?

Another consideration is that social media is unidirectional. You cannot buikd a relationship if you're talking at someone (i.e. video posts) rather than with someone.
If you tell someone to check out your channel, they may hear "i don't want to talk with you." Bye bye therapeutic relationship.

That's a good point. And there's no opportunity to clarify a misunderstanding

This is totally off topic from this video, but I couldn't find another place to ask you.
During the recent Daybell trial, the defense asked Chad's daughter about the "Emotion Code." I looked it up, and wanted to ask you if you have an opinion in it.
    Thanks for all you do!!

Emotion code huh? I'll take a look at it. Thanks for commenting and asking. In the future, you can DM me on Instagram @therapy.2day too with any questions

I just looked up some preliminary description of the emotion code and I do have thoughts! If you have a relatively short video about how emotion code plays into that particular case, I'd love to do a video on it

@@Therapy2Day I'll see what I can find. The defense was questioning Emma Daybell about it. I'd never heard of it, and thought you may have.

It has always seemed like a fine line you and other therapists who run TH-cam channels must ethically and legally walk. But you seem to a good job at it and I’ve never got the sense you would risk a client relationship over promoting your channel. Your line of work is not for gossips. That’s why I could never be a therapist! Now let me tell you about what my neighbor Florence told me yesterday……😉😆

That's funny! It is hard to try to tell real stories but keep the anonymity behind it, as well as not compromising ethically. Thanks for your support

What if one of your clients found your channel??

That would definitely be a conversation to have with them in person on how they feel about it, and how that impacts their view of our relationship. Thanks for asking

Is it true that if I was your client, and my friend came to you and said I had recommended you to them, you would have to refuse to provide services to that friend of mine?

Hey thanks for asking! It would depend on the situation. Generally I don't mind word of mouth referrals. If you had been talking about difficulties you've had with this friend and that was a main focus of our treatment, I'd probably refer that friend to see someone else so I don't have to worry about my objectivity.
