    1) ask ourselves what are they not getting from their life (unfufilled needs)
    2) what faulty pattern matching is going on
    3) what are their metaphors telling you about what they need and about them

      What if it's not any specific thing that's causing their unhappiness, like sometimes depression can be without a specific cause?

      @@cheyenneoliver5835 My take on your question is that there is always a specific cause(s). They and we just don't know exactly what it is. That's where ongoing assessment with the right questions begin the process (i.e. durations, triggers, thought process and content, etc.), and the use of the 3 topics from this video.

      I'm seeing a psychiatrist tomorrow the first time in my life. I searched this video out because I couldn't figure out how will I explain myself tomorrow. I don't want 5 sessions just to explain myself, my problems, especially when it's costly. This video helped a lot to organise my thoughts. Wish me luck.

    The 2nd technique reminds me of the DBT concept of vulnerability in a behaviour chain analysis. What old history is showing up right here, and is the history affecting us?
    Ex: Someone asked for support in the past but was met with reprimand from their supervisor. This may be a pattern in their life when they ask for support
    When they want to ask for support with a manager who appears friendly they are highly apprehensive due to their past history.

      The idea that it's my responsibility to get better and enjoy life just forgives the psychopath bullies that the society loves and gave scholarships to. I hate and distrust you all monkey demon monsters I hate my species.

      @@SporadicUploads1there are some bullies out there indeed. but please don't forget there are also kind people. and that those bullies were bullied themselves. a person that receives love & attention and feels his life has meaing won't bully others..

    • @Seamannon
      @Seamannon 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SporadicUploads1 Keep looking for ways to address even those old needs in some way.
      I was also bullied and very lonely as a child - my takeaway: I need to make firends (look for information on how to make firends in your 30's, lookup videos on how to self-reflect, heal the issues I am able to heal on my own, search for support addressing the rest, ask yourself what kind of people you would like to have as friends and what kind of people you should avoid, figure out how to tell them apart, read stuff on how to build and maintain healthy relationships, how to handle conflict and so on...)
      I was preventented from continuing education after highschool - my takeaway - I would like to get back to school at some point (is it possible currently? If not why? what would be necessary? when could I start? What exactly would I want to learn? and so on...)
      I was in an abusive relationship for my whole 20's - my takeaway - I want to experience real love and a healthy relationship with mutual respect and support (what does a healthy relationship really look like? how to spot early signs of toxicity? how to tell apart healthy and toxic relationships? How start on a proper foundation? How to heal my insecurities that are holding me back? and so on...)
      These are just a few examples for self-reflection and problemsolving. You have to figure out what your most important needs are and how to address them now or in the near future in order to heal those wounds.
