Early in the film when Ken Miles (Christian Bale) wants to end the debate with his wife (Caitriona Balfe) over their financial situation, he says that they should quit "going all around the Wrekin". This is a phrase originating in the West Midlands of England to signify that someone should stop waffling and get to the point (the Wrekin is a prominent hill in Shropshire). As Ken Miles was from Sutton Coldfield it is certainly the sort of expression that he could have used.

We usta jump my Mom's 67 Fairlane wagon on country roads North of town.
. It's not for the faint hearted. I put 300 pounds of sand in the spare tire well so it would stay sorta flat.
I'm shitty race driver in local series, but I'm terrified sometimes when I'm using Uber. Lots of people think they are in control of their vehicle, while ECS/DSC struggling to keep them alive.
At that time non of those there to save your ass.

That's why the whole scene is so good. It's authentic. He knows she knows and is upset. But like we men do, you just gotta work that needle in and surprise her. Even if it costs you something. He knows she'll be happy at the end. He wasn't 100% in the right. But that's life.
Molly is such a keeper. "NO! I like a clean racing line!" 🤣 Not wanting to be coddled, but also serious, doesn't hold back the truth in return.
What most people don't know is that Molly was actually a race driver herself. Molly could hold her own, she was the boss behind the wheel. But she wasn't out to kill herself once she became a mum.

I found this scene a bit confusing when I first saw it because Ken's wife is actually supportive of him from the beginning.

I loved watching her take the lawn chair to watch Shelby and a miles fight. Most realistic fight in a movie with an even better ending.
Great acting from Caitriona..she seems to be so underused... apart from Outlander.
Those are true words for men. Do not hide or not say what you want to make your wife happy. Two things will happen. If you decide to do something your wife does not like and hide it, you will be caught eventually and you lied. If you dont tell your wife and dont do what you dream of, you will hold it against her which is a hell in its self. Be honest with your desires and let your wife be a partner, that does not mean you get do what ever you want. But if you both agree, the likelihood of success is greater and you will both be happier.

However, one of them is not to hide your desires and then be pissed because she finds out and calls you a liar and cheat. As I said, communicate your desire, especially when it comes to work and money, and you know what the same applies in the bedroom.
Easier said that done. Men tend to grow up repressed so even if the wanted to express any desires they have no idea how. As Miles puts it, "I don't even know what I want."

It was refreshing for Mollie to be not only likable but passionate and supportive of what Ken was trying to achieve. Another great aspect of a phenomenal movie!

There is a mistake in this scene. He is eating from a packet of crisps/chips that is made from aluminumized plastic. That is out of place as these didn't come in till at least the 1980s
The rest of the movie cancels out that one little mistake. You have to be highly observant to notice the chips, but I admire u saw it
