I have all three Battle Assault games. I bought thr first pre-owned and wasn't disappointed with it when I bought it. I bought the second and third when both of them released brand new. I had so many amazing good fights with friends and family playing these games.
@@penscrap Yeah, I heard about that and wanted to take a look at it a little more but we were pretty busy while making this video IRL and had to work with what information we gathered by playing a little less gameplay sessions we would have normally done.
It's sad that the Battle Assault series is largely forgotten in favor of the Versus series. It's like Bandai thinks that there is only enough room in the market for one type of Gundam game, and god forbid we get a PC port of any of them.
I only found out about this series of gundam games recently, even though I played a few obscure mecha titles like super robot shooting, glad to know a gundam fg exists and now someone discussing it in depth.
Wish Gundam Battle Master 1 had been covered in this, I think it's an interesting game in the sense that it's kind of a predecessor to bullet hell style fighting games and plays nothing like a traditional fg. Also interesting in how Battle Master 2/Assault 1 built off of it in a more traditional direction. Also worth noting that there's a SEED Destiny fighteer that's a sequel to SEED battle assault, and while it's JP only it's GBA so there's no region lock and the UI is easy to use. Improves on a lot of things in SBA, including adding more normals for every character and making them cancel between each in more ways so autocombos are less essential, along with doubling the size of the roster including a stance switch character and a character with negative edge projectiles.
@@mibeador We wanted to cover Battle Master and understand it has it's own quirks but we thought we'd be explaining the same game three times essentially so we axe to keep it just about the Battle Assault game since that's what we got down here. We didn't know the japanese only GBA game was a different game by the time of making the video and thought it was just another name change similar to Battle Master/ Battle Assault. If we knew, that would've represented the GBA titles.
@@TeamCrossbody ic unfortunate, BM1 is one of the strangest fgs I've ever played lol. SEED Destiny is more fair though cause it is basically the Super Turbo to SBA's SF2
@@TeamCrossbody Seed Destiny is a legit great game IMO so if you're interested def try it out, just try to find a 100% save cause boatload of chars are unblockable lol
@@andrewsallee Oh. I thought it was like Battle Assault 1 and was just the same game that when by a different name. I read something about it having a different roster and that was about it.
I think its just called Seed Desitiny, but it's essentially an expanded version of Seed Battle Assault for GBA with more suits and saving. I'd say it's the definitive version of the game.
To be fair, with the way fighting games are designed now and days, I don't think a Battle Assault 4 would be as interestingly designed. In this case just be thankful that Battle Assault 2 is as good as it is.
@@TeamCrossbody I beg to differ! You can definitely make GBA4 look great and play well! Just cooperate either way the developers that have done a great job at fighting games like capcom, ArcSys, etc.
@@Miroku16X Yeah, I don't get why more people don't go over the mechanics of the fighting games they cover or at least attempt to go into more depth. We're still trying to find a method that will make it more entertaining for people but that will come with time, I guess. And yeah, we try to embrace the actual game itself and not let thing like "is this a fighting game?" Get in the way of our view of it. So, yeah, why would we hate on the people who actually like and play these games? We might not like the games themselves some times (SF6, MK1) but we don't attack the people who like them.
16:00 As someone who has played Battle Assault 2 (as well as Battle Master), I find it funny that my mains (Burning, RX-78, Deathscythe) were all S rank. Also Dark Gundam definitely gets the top tier spot. He fits in that niche of not quite a regular character, not quite a full boss type, and it's unblockable attack is so good it's a wonder why they even bothered giving it a Super. As for Ball, from what I remember, yeah, it was a solid, but not amazing suit. It had limited ammo, running out quickly if you depended on it, but it was short and it has a pretty good piston attack.
I main Acguy because it looked like a Gundam Little Bear would pilot. As for good characters I played Gundam. My show knowledge is a little fuzzy, but I wished Pale Rider was in the game. That's my favorite MS - Although I think that was in a game.
It's okay to be jealous but maybe you should try a bit harder? At any rate, over 2.6 views and 105 likes begs to differ. Thanks for the engagement. PS: You'd be getting mugged by two people by the by.

A neat thing about BA2 is that suits from BA1 are still in the game’s code, you just have to GameShark them back in.

The Battle Assault games were my jam back in the day, such a shame that the fourth entry never happened, it'd be amazing with today's mobile suits.
if all ur videos are this in depth i better sub for more
We often try to hit all the major mechanics of a game. Also, thanks for the sub.

There was also a sequel to the GBA one, with all of the first game's cast as unlockables.
