I felt exactly the same as you did at this point in the series. I'm glad I stuck with the series as season 2 was really quite good.
I feel like Geld is always overlooked/overshadowed. That's why I was so glad that he has that moment to shine in season 2.

I agree, Geld's shown as having the most resent for what happened, even in slime diaries he always feeds others because he understands the difficulty of starving.
In the light novel, Geld and Gabiru is my favorite character. Geld and his men is the very foundation of Tempest military.
Milim's basically a child who never age. But she's like one of the strongest demon lord ever lived.
But that doesn't mean they are completely safe. Conflicts still are brewing and it's not always a win for Rimuru. So I hope that you go on with the series.
the ironic part is she is one of the oldest of the demon lords.
there is a dialogue in slime diaries I believe, stating that she's so old that she revert back to a child. which kinda make sense for me personally, since my grandma used to throw a tantrum to my mom, and my grandma isn't even 100.

I like how slimes are taking over her room.
Dwarf King Gazeal Dwargo can read minds, Great Sage shielded Rimiru when they first met but, in a sword fight the king could get a better read on Rimiru. Also, would Rimiru fight like a hero or a monster. And the idea that you should fight someone before becoming friends was around even before Gilgamesh and Enkidu.
Milim is definitely a fan favorite lol. She's really funny. And I love her friendship with Rimuru. Also Beni is such a chad the way he was talking to Geld when he was apologizing.

Rimuru is a slime but kept his human form and sword for the duel with Gazel. Rimuru kept his word even when physically threatened so the king had another reason to trust him. Add in the word of the dryad, the dwarves, the sword master from his youth etc... and he no reason to not think Rimuru was trustworthy.

Exactly. Season 1 is all about building the nation all the action and struggle starts from season 2.
Milim is what you get, when you give a child ultimate power, and there is no one strong enough to tell her "No!". She is the embodiment of free will. She does what she wants, when she wants, how she wants, and if you don't like it, she's perfectly willing to punch you into next week. Good tasting food is her weakness. Rimuru uses this well.

At the end of the series, Rimuru basically becomes God, and is the most powerful person in this or any other world. Though he does give Milim the throne of God (Her Fathers Throne) and dominion over Heaven.

Honey is great, but I also prefer raw honey. If you are up for it, honey has different flavors from where the bees gather the nectar from. Clover is common in the US, so maybe try different types?

Milim's reputation proceeded her. Even though Rimuru's subordinates have not Milim in person beforehand, they believed Milim to be extremely violent and dangerous.
Yes, Clayman's VA is also DIO, Zeke, and Sugou/Oberon from SAO, and Milim's VA is also Filo and Silica.
Okay to point out Rimuru used honey against Milim because he knew that her power was *BEYOND HIM* anyway aside from her signature outfit Milim is hilarious and adorable. Not to mention when she gets all pouty and teary-eyed. Though I did love your reaction to her first appearance along when Shion started to splash back. This anime tends to censor pretty well. Wait until you see the OVA where they make the Rimurushions, and they have to face a monster with tentacles that eat through clothing. 🤣
Considering you've finished watching S1 in Patreon, Demon Lords will play a huge role in season 2. As of right now, The Demon Lords are stronger than Rimuru. Milim, is one of the strongest, if not, the strongest among all when it comes to pure physical strength. Season 2 is where the stakes are high enough that you'll see Rimuru display an emotion that hasn't been seen in season 1.

I don't know what honey you can buy in US (also they probably add a lot of chemicals to it). Also, my favorite is buckwheat honey.

The thing is and this is not spoilers btw season 1 is mainly introducing you to the characters and stuff so you can understand things later in the story
...a few thoughts to put Rimuru and his OP-ness to scale in this world.
1. Rimuru is an otherworlder - albeit a reincarnation instead of a summon. Otherworlders are super powerful in this world (and thus rare) and get a special ability(ies) upon arrival... plus a binding curse to try and control them. Rimuru, perhaps due to his unique reincarnation, seems to have gotten *tons* of special abilities, plus Predator, and plus Great Sage (either of those last two alone would make any monster OP). I don't know if this world has ever dealt with a reincarnated version of a Otherworlder.
2. Rimuru reincarnated as a slime - a monster, rather than a human. This means his ability to level up/evolve is much easier. Humans are basically unaffected by magicules, for the most part, I believe. And naming a human does not affect them. Rimuru, on the other hand, arrived with enough abilities and skills to be an A class monster from the moment he gained consciousness. And his predator skill is wildly powerful in the hands of a monster with the mind of an otherworlder... he instantly exploited that particular 'game mechanic' to get even more skills. (Note: I believe it had to do with his insane amount of power (plus maybe some Great Sage help) that made acquiring skills almost instantaneous at the beginning - like water blade and water propulsion, for example.)
3. Rimuru was an un-named slime (but a bizarrely powerful one w/ self awareness) when he first met Veldora. Now, we've seen what getting named by Rimuru can do to a monster... it is much more powerful than getting named by Gelmud. (Gabiru for instance was named by both...) But my point is that we all tend to forget that a.) Veldora, one of the 4 most powerful entities in all existence in this world, personally named Rimuru, and b.) the way he was named to include the 'family name: Tempest' made the naming of Rimuru by Veldora not one of master and subordinate, but one of equals. So Rimuru Tempest received the usual power boost by being named, got named in such a way as he was not a dependent of or inferior to Veldora in any way, and received a Divine Blessing (whatever that does) since it was Veldora who named him.
So at the beginning (which we're still sorta' in) Rimuru has to sort of 'float up to his correct altitude'. He started super small, with just a single village of goblins, and his OP-ness made short work of the first several challenges he's faced, but now each challenge becomes more dangerous and complex, he has more moving parts involved and people he cares for and wants to protect. He does 'top off' soon, though... at least for a while. More and stronger entities/nations will be forced to respond to the rise of a powerful new nation in their midst - and not always as friendly as Dwargon.
Hang in there Jami! Slime is a huge story so has a lot of introductions to work its way through... but it's totally worth it. It's like adding more and more instruments until you have an orchestra. (and you still haven't meet even half the major players in Slime yet... some awesome ones are ahead!)

Also a small fyi about why Milim liked the honey. It was cut from the anime, but the honey Rimuru used was not a regular honey.
The honey is gathered by Apito, a rare type of insect monster as a repayment for his kindness. The honey that she gathers is one of the highest quality and its taste is much richer than any honey gathered by regular bee's, not to mention that it has additional healing affects that regular honey does not have.
For some reason they did not introduce Apito and Zegion in the main anime yet (although Apito did have a brief appearance in one the OP's), however both characters do appear in Slime Diaries.
I feel the same about honey, I like the flavour on cereal and snacks but I can't stand it by itself.
Rimuru was more powerful than the majin who named gabiru, so by confirming it he upgraded the name's power. (Veldora naming rimuru was a big deal. He got a buff from the endgame boss at level 1.)

King Gazel did not figure out that Veldora is inside Rimuru. Rimuru just "Feels" like Veldora to Gazel. Gazel can read the thoughts of people, but he cannot read Rimuru's thoughts, so he is not used to that, and it throws him off.
Season 1 is ALL Buildup for Season 2. Season 2 gets DARK.
Don’t forget about DIO’s VA also being Shirogane’s dad and Zeke Yeager (and like 200 other characters, he’s in everything)

fun fact: milim is the daughter of veldanava the creator of this world which is also a true dragon milim's the only dragonoid in this world and since shes veldanavas daughter that makes the true dragons her auntie's/uncle

I mean rimuru really had no choice he would not stand a chance against milim at that time but he gotten stronger in season 2 you will see he can keep up with milim now I think. But I love this show because characters are op because for some reason Isekai characters are overpowered as crap like you cannot compare then to normal Shonen anime, it's funny and the show is great overall

About Millim outfit, specificaly her panty/tong & butt. Millim is a Dragonoid, a cross between human&dragon. As such she can assume more dragon features, like a dragon tail. When the tail is out, it cover her posterior, fitting without tearing the tong apart.

At this point in the story there are dozens of beings that are stronger than Rimuru, there will be conflicts. Interestingly, the conflicts and plot of this series revolves heavily around Rimuru's efforts in building and maintaining a nation, and whether or not he can govern this nation and protect his subordinates. Very different from the typical shonen series where the MC has to defeat stronger enemies in combat in order to grow (which is pretty stale for me hence why I love this series).

The hardest one for me to get supports Rimuru is the Dryads, when you look at how large an area of the forest gets cultivated or urbanized.
The others makes a decent sense that they would follow, just not seeing someone who is supposed to be the voice of the forest itself to be a fan of clearing much of the forest
