What about A space Holly Roman Empire where the control of the "Empire" shifts with each council hearing and the capital also shifts to the homeworld of that particular faction. The members also have a large degree of autonomy but if one nation is attacked all other nations have to come to its defense and all nations have a system defense fleet but they still provide ships and military personnel to a central military that is only allowed to become involved in external threats. They could use a different name than empire since there's a bad connotation with it.
Or a consultation monarchy with a Jedi as the monarch ( because they are very wise and have foresight ) and a regular leader with a senate and the whole shebang.
Even I wonder what happened after the First Order was defeated. If the New Republic was rebuilt, then they have a lot of mistakes they have to correct. Like removing corruption and never issue another military disarmament act again.
What military do you think will the republic will try to employ? Will it be automated, tank breed for war and minimize legitimate casualties, have people from their respective planets be enlisted into the new military?
That of course assumes there even will be a single galactic superpower, or even just a major state. Looking at the situation of the Disney sequel films' timeline post-Rise of Skywalker, realistically the galaxy would probably fragment into dozens of smaller states (in the best-case scenario) if not hundreds, thousands, maybe millions or billions of smaller states (assuming they're even organized enough to qualify as such). That said, if a single galactic superpower were to fill in the void, whatever the system might be, its exact ideological alignment, and so forth...if they had even a modicum of intelligence, even the slightest sense of self-preservation, they would be far, far more militarized.
Disney's new trilogy: "The New New Order rises from the ashes of the New Order and The New New Republic is removed from power and are now once again the New New Rebels" and for some reason the Facist government that has crumbled twice is once again in an advantageous position for some reason.

@Shri Mysore yeah most likley they are going back since the high republic, where the rule of two sith are hiding and the jedi rules going back with darth bane as the last sith in the era, later going to the old republic vs sith empire vs mandalorians era and all that, going backwards in timeline
*The galaxy a few years later* Everything has become a wasteland and everyone are becoming raiders and space pirates like Fallout and Homeworld. Welcome to the new galaxy where everyone's lives sucks now and massive starvation and a dark age of the galaxy has begun.
If the worst case scenarios. 1. They adopted the same policies as the empire underneath the name "republic" could lead to a civil war. 2. They decentralized their government to allow more freedom to systems and diminish the military to allow each system to grow their own army and space navy to self-defense, but they could use their army to declare independence to to consolidate power for their own. Otherwise leading to another Civil War.
@@kraigisboss most likley yeah, I mean chiss bois don't really have other thing to do than hide and watch how everything goes, Thrawn was that dude that does the job while the war and all those stuff happened
If what happened in the sequel trilogy is anything to go by, the "Second Order" (although let's be honest, Disney probably will think of a far dumber, more convoluted name for it), they'll probably somehow take over the galaxy in an hour. Space Citizen 1: Huh? What happened? Space Citizen 2: Didn't you hear? The galaxy got taken over? Space Citizen 1- But I was just out to get groceries. The New New New Republic just took charge this morning. Space Citizen 2: That's the galaxy today, buddy. Nothing political makes any sense whatsoever.
Hope it just becomes a lawless warlord-type thing with chaos reigning everywhere with a few parts trying to restore order. Basically Western Europe after the collapse of the Roman Empire or the 3 Kingdoms era in China
As far as I was aware, the first Order was still extremely powerful after the fall of Star-killer base, considering Snoke didn't even care enough to MENTION its destruction when Kylo went to him. If anything, after it's destruction they were even stronger considering Rey said, "The first order will control all the major systems within a matter of weeks." As far as the sequel trilogy explains, the First Order took over the galaxy after the end of the 3rd movie. Good job Disney, you made a series where the 'bad guys' win.
2 years later and from what I gathered the galaxy still has many holdouts and what's left of the galactic Republic is still concerned on defeating what's left of the final order. Yeah surprisingly some of the sith eternal did escape exogol or never went back after they were deployed for palps speach. So there's still a handful of world destroyer star destroyers flying around. Besides that do to the decentralization of the government I wouldn't be surprised that as the first order is driven into a corner the local systems and planets will begin fighting echuther over territory and recorcess as they belive that the finnal order is practicaly defeated and boom you have a balkanized galaxy with EVEN MORE impieral warlords running around than before and this time there's no Republic to keep them contained or at the very least the Republic would be reduced to courasount. That's the only confirmed planet the new republic has retaken full control over. I imagine the galaxy will be reduced to a bunch of smaller galactic nations fighting echuther over scraps while the imperialist rememnent do the same.
They did say that after they "somehow" took control of the Galaxy, Palpatine "somhow" returned, and "somehow" defeated, the First Order was "somehow" destroyed in a galactic-scale uprising. Somehow.
It’s explained that the battle of Exegol inspired a galaxy wide uprising The citezins of every first order occupied planet rebeled basically all at the same time And so soon after losing general hux, general pryde, potentially the entire ruling council, Kylo Ren, the knights of Ren, the steadfast and their newly formed alliance with the sith eternal That’s a lot of major losses all at once And the First order wasn’t exactly operating on a galactic scale to begin with. They had enough resources to blockade major systems along with a few random planets while dedicating others to the fight with the resistance but that’s about it. Fear and paranoia did the rest They couldn’t just occupy every planet in sight the way the empire did. They were already stretched thin after losing starkiller base and the supremacy (which was also its capital. It’s exactly as stupid as it sounds) That’s why they were so excited about the sith eternal fleet. They needed to become a viable empire and fast because at the rate they were going they weren’t gonna accomplish shit. In the end the galaxy at large called their bluff
I don't think it would be the Bong (keeping that typo in, just imaging a warrior blazing out with biot sunglasses) but the Grysk could be an interesting antagonist for this sort of galactic state.
@@Jackal_El_Lobo34 And considering the Veil of the Force mutiverse nonsense I'll say this is Disney's way to damage control the Sequels by just ignoring them like they didn't make them. What a waste of bloody time, resources, and money. When they could of just I don't know decanonize them instead of imprinting a plot device that makes no sense.
The books were the best sequels. The yuuzhan vong were brilliant, thrawn was astounding and the second galactic civil war was pretty cool aswell. (Dont ya think the galaxy would be sick of the skywalker/solo families turning to the dark side and ruling the galaxy?)
They will refer to themselves as "independents" and pretend they had nothing to do with the previous administration, and that Darth Trump… sorry Vader, was a aberration. [Someone had to go there]
Luke even observed in the later Legends novels, when former Admiral Daala was summarily declared chief of state by the military, that most of the leadership figures of the GFFA were ex-Imperials.
This actually happened in the new canon novels as well. A lot of senators in the New Republic were shamelessly loyal to the Empire, to the point that they actively blocked measures by the military to investigate the First Order.
i posted a poll on the star wars wiki on who would take over after TRS A lot of people supported a canon version of the galactic federation of free alliances
But what made GA interest in legends was that Imperial Remnants did join that as autonomys states, ending the conflict with it and new republic diplomatically. In new canon GA would be hallow if only former NR systems would be part in GA, as then it would be all too similar to NR. GA in new canon would be interesting if there could be FO splinter faction that did fight againts Palpatines Sith Eternal, allying itself with resistance, but still wanted act and govern itself more like FO did.
To be honest I think that having 10 - 20 large sector governments which have an EU type of de-centralisation it would have a galactic government that sets some regulations, prerequisites for entry and a main body that addresses major issues. I think that it would be a nice change of pace from the centralised galactic governments of old
I agree. There is also the possibility that something even more horizontal and democratic than the EU (and more just than the privateers' dream of every system for itself) could be formed. This is the vibe I got from the galaxy-wide response to the Final Order. *EDIT* : We are talking European Union EU and not Epanded Universe EU, yes?
Who rules the Star Wars galaxy after SW9? Well, no one does, because the big powers destroyed each other totally. This leaves a power vacuum on a galactic scale, one that hasn't existed for thousands of years. And this is a huge problem when two neighbouring systems have a dispute with each other. In an ideal world, everyone can get on nicely. We can all have a cup of tea or coffee with some biscuits and discuss our problems like gentlemen. The problem can be resolved without any hostility. Because any conflict would inevitably involve the central government, who would send out a Jedi, or a fleet of star destroyers. But no, now there's no peacekeeper. Minor border disagreements escalate to wars, which then involve other systems. Before you know it, everyone is involved, fighting each other, and no one knows what started it either.
. . . So you want the heroes to have made the galaxy a worse place? Look I get it, historically when huge empires fall it's usually messy with lots of balkanization. And historically they fall not because a brave hero defeated a superweapon, but because of complex economic and social factors beyond any one person's control. But Star Wars *isn't* a historical work. It's an idealistic work about underdog heroes defeating tyranny. The heroes defeating the fascists, and then saying "Oh no, the fascists kept the trains running on time, we're screwed!" is counteractive to that message. (Plus of course the idea that the Nazis were super efficent is inaccurate). Don't get me wrong, I like the Legends Warlords. They have good stories and are a bit more realistic than the Empire failing a year after Endor. But while TROS wasn't a good ending to a trilogy, is "and then the galaxy became Mad Max" really a better ending? If the Big 3 from the OT could build a better galaxy, is it really unbelievable it can't happen again?
@@starwarsnerd100 The issue is the story writing and plot was messy in the first place. The difference between the TROS and ROTJ is the Rebel Alliance had the military power and political backing to support the foundations of a galactic government. It wasn’t just Luke, Han and Leia, although they were the main focus of the story, there was still grander subplots at play in the unseen and they had all the support in the galaxy to help with their journey. TROS and the sequel trilogy in general literally just destroyed any sort of order left there could of been in the galaxy. All the ships that came to aid at Exegol weren’t an organized bunch of war fighters or political alliances. It was literally just a bunch of random people who came last second to in the threat of a common foe. “The enemy of my enemy is my friend” only goes a long way.
@@johnnykt4145 The problem with that line of thinking is that it relies on Expanded Universe knowledge of the Alliance structure. Sure ROTJ shows Mon Mothma but it doesn’t really go into her role as the Alliance civilian leader. From someone only watching the films the Rebellion and Resistance structure seem pretty similar. There’s no reason someone like Lando or Poe couldn’t step in to fill the Mon Mothma role. Besides before the ST different EU writers had different ideas. Some wrote the New Republic as having a council instead of a Senate, some didn’t even call it the New Republic but the “Alliance of Free Planets”. So if different authors can watch the same movie (ROTJ) but have different ideas of how the galaxy looks afterwards, there’s no reason the galaxy post TROS has to be in anarchy.
@@starwarsnerd100 Not even the expanded universe, theres already much canon content to back up the idea of a Rebel Alliance. Poe and Lando are war fighters not politicians. The Resistance itself by the end of TROS is a mere fragment of what they were in the beginning of the trilogy, lost most of its leaders and manpower. No one said the galaxy was in anarchy, obviously there would be system and stellar sized civilizations remaining but a galactic-sized ruling body would no longer likely exist and would take an extreme amount of effort to reinstate one.
Whether this is likely or not, I would love to see Moore Regional governments arise. You would have multiple factions in various regions of the Galaxy each doing their best to take care of their people sometimes aligning with one faction and potentially undermining another. I think it would give a lot more depth to the Galaxy as there's no longer a blanket government and therefore less world-building to get into, but now we have all these different factions and then there is so much more to look at
One of the few things I like about the new Canon is because it does give a chance to wipe the slate clean and allow for multiple regional powers to rise, some will be more Imperial style, some Republic, some more Confederacy or populist (as the term is used in this video) and so on.
Sequel to the sequel trilogy: Rey has disappeared She is hiding cos she is afraid of her own heritage and power and has stopped training students A new threat has risen A small band of students has been dispatched by Poe Dameron to find Rey because they need her back Turns out it was Snoke all along - he's a clone of the clone who went Rogue In the end one of Rey's students beats snoke after Rey is killed as well as all the other students That student then takes the name Skywalker and the galaxy is saved once again and there exists only one jedi left who seems like they will restore the order
#askeck do you think the Star Wars universe constantly being at war could be a result of the power struggle between the light and dark sides of the force as a reason as to why history in the galaxy seemingly repeats itself?
Well there does seem to be a pattern of Imperialist vs Republican ideals. I mean Republican as in Galactic Republic. Old Republic Era: Sith Empire VS Jedi allied Republic. Prequel Era: Jedi supporting Republic vs Seperatist movement secretly ruled by Rule Of Two Sith OT Era: Rebels want to restore the Reublic vs Galactic Empire
It seems every time in starwars there's always conflict that intertains us. When will there be a time where we all simultaneously what to have an Era where war is ending in starwars?
What I want to imagine is the Galaxy worlds became fed up with both the Republic and Empire imposing there will upon the Galaxy and many worlds are now seeking their own empires across the galaxy leading to a free for all and a balkanization across the galaxy.
What I'm hopeful for is that they have large numbers of relatively large but regional alliances. 20, 30, 100 systems. That's far more fertile for storytelling to me than "oh look, another galactic hyperpower and the motley band of outlaws opposing them", and can handle more plot inertia than "every system for themselves", if that makes sense.
@@willbricksproductions Alexander the Great was seen as a tyrant in his early days. Plus Kylo had barely ruled at all by the time of TLJ, Stoke was ruler before. Kylo could've been a clean slate using his absolute power for the good of all peoples in the galaxy. Also, wouldnt it have been cooler for Hux and Kylo to have been working together, and for the Resistance to have been rescued by the First Order Fleet instead? That would be awesome, to see two generations of Star Destroyers going head to head.
I like the idea of a space Holy Roman Empire. Technically one unified nation but is really an ungodly mess of micro-nations and territories that all have their on governments and are constantly at war with each other.
Imagine everything went back to like the prequels, Jedis returned, Jedi council is back but then it's the old council as force ghosts, and they would just bring back the prequel feeling
Definitely want to hear more of your thoughts on the post tros governments and sector powers, love all of those kind of discussions, Bloodline was one of my favourite Star Wars books
If nothing else I really liked how ROS ended because of how the galaxy is set up to enter a new dark age, with a feudal Japan kind of feel to it. It seems like the only believable progression for the galaxy after these movies is for it to enter a free-for-all where every two bit general or whatever planetary government that has a few capital ships start grabbing up their piece of the galaxy to control.
I honestly questioned that after The Rise of Skywalker which new galactic government will rule the galaxy. I’m hoping the Galactic Alliance (taken form Legends).
I use to think it would've just been a conflict between an alliance or different groups against First Order Warlords, but I totally forgot about the scene at the end of ROS where they showed how they were defeated. I feel like, with all the different groups that could've been fighting against First Order remnant forces after ROS, something like the GA is inevitable. Seeing how certain groups may have drastically differing ideas (maybe some imperials that sidnt flee to the unknown regions fought against the FO) on how the galaxy may be governed. They also would most likely not want to give up power to some random government forming out of the core or any other gov. I would hope something like the SGCW would happen, I'd find it cool If we could see some new ships from ROS used by both factions. Maybe some stolen FO ships too ;0. I dunno, just my thoughts. Ps. I love your channel Eck!!! You've been my favorite star wars channel for awhile, as always awesome vid.
We need a new clone army that are specially monitored so that there is no inhibitor chip inserted into the clones. They are so badass and it's sad they had 20 minutes of screen time in the films
I run Star Wars table top games and I had no idea how to write a story based in the post-sequel era. This video has given me new ideas and a spark of inspiration.
I personally think that the Republic will be back, but I think it will be smaller than during the clone wars. Probably a good chunk of the core, and expanding into the mid rim, with little outer-rim support, or planets. I think many petty kingdoms will pop up, or will be subjugated by crime syndicates, and I think if the First Order doesn't stay centralized, then many more kingdoms, remnants, and like will appear, with the Chiss loosely communicating with them to try and manipulate the galaxy into unifying more, since I don't believe the Gryssk have invaded yet, and they're still very much a threat to their society.
In all seriousness I'm hoping Disney goes the Galaxy Shattered route, it would be interesting to see the different regional governments and how they interact with each other.
#askeck Hey Eck, I've had this question for a while - in Star Wars Rebels Admiral Thrawn conducts an orbital bombardment of the Rebel base, in which we see multiple ISD's utilizing their main batteries. Now, in many Star Wars circles, a just a single blast of these turbolaser batteries is rated at a way higher destructive yield than the 50 megaton Tsar Bomba, the largest thermonuclear device detonated in actual human history. For example, if you weed through Fractalsponge's commentary on his work - and don't get me wrong, I absolutely love his work - he'll attribute megaton range yield to even point defense level weaponry, and much larger yields to main batteries. And yet, in Star Wars Rebels, we see Kaanan speeding through the bombardment on a speeder bike, and the bombardment appears to be much closer in destructive yield to a conventional artillery barrage. Certainly, if we even went by the very conservative estimate that a ISD main turbolaser blast yield was 50 megatons, just one shot would send Kaanan and a massive radius of the ground around him up in irradiated smoke! So I'd love if you'd take some time in a video or Ask Eck segment to go over what we see in this canonical scene in Star Wars Rebels, what implications it might have for turbolaser destructive yield, and how that might change our understanding of space combat in Star Wars. Love your content! Video clip link: th-cam.com/video/ARR0RPrr_rg/w-d-xo.html
I can't wait for the Sequel Sequel Trilogy, where Rey tried to kill Broomboy in his sleep and goes into hiding at the last Jedi Temple after Broomboy destroys her Academy and becomes Darlo Vaden. And the First Republic will be destroyed by the Middle Order, which is being manipulated in the shadows by the again resurrected Palpatine.
It would make the most sense for no single government to replace things, particularly since it would appear the fleet at Exegol was made up of New Republic remnants and private militia/system fleets. As such, there could be a significant movement of the individual systems (or groups of systems) to want to retain their own control and not have a central government at all. Dozens or hundreds of governments could replace it, with the likelihood of other warlords and strongmen trying to carve out their own little empires. The last 40-odd years don't show the various systems much benefit of a central government of any kind.
I want to actually see the New Republic in the Mandalorian the actual government itself. I want to see Kuat Drive Yards in the second season as well. Maybe we can get a look at the New Republic fleet again (idk I'm still hoping that the Nebula class star destroyer makes it's way into canon)
What about the Hutts? They have an established power base and have seemingly remained neutral. Maybe they expand and Hutt Space becomes much larger. And perhaps the Chiss would make their way into the parts of the galaxy we are more familiar with. I think something will fill that power vacumn will be filled, but who will fill it is an interesting question. Keep up the great work Eck!
A second galactic civil war sounds awesome. I’d actually love to watch a trilogy of films about that more than anything else. It’d be interesting to see the main characters of the sequels be put in a conflict where they have actual character drama. Maybe Poe favors a confederacy with loosely governed independent systems but Finn’s life in the First Order ans later him learning to be a leader at Exegol lead him to favor a centralized government. And Rey has to learn how to face an actual conflict where good and evil aren’t clear, unlike how the conflict in the sequels was just “beat the bad guys”. It’d be a lot more interesting than the actual sequels and fiiiinalky get us talking about galactic politics again
Damn, the Bloodline novel never fails to piss me off >.< Not only it basically takes old canon New Republic structure and puts in mouth of what basically transparently evil imperials, but opposing faction basically makes Republic essentially moot altogether... It just boggles the mind that Claudia Grey can write Lost Stars with one hand and this nonsense with the other.
I like the idea of there being several factions - the parts of the first order that wasnt involved in palpatines attack, reys jedi order, ezra and thrawn could lead something, maybe there could be a neo-enpire more loyal to the og empire and they could be "good guys", maybe a neo-seperatist faction, a new republic, crimelord space, etc
JOE HENRY ORTEGA people can rework something to be better but that’s not really a challenge. A challenge is creating something from scratch. Sure anyone can point out a couple of mistakes in one movie, but can they actually make a decent MOVIE from scratch?
I’m really hoping someone turned the power switch to “On” at some back water CIS droid factory and the the CIS returns without a Sith Lord secretly leading them to death. CIS is my favorite faction is all of SiFi!
Most likely individual systems would form individual governments, which would make it significantly more difficult for another ambitious person like Palpatine to take over. However, it would also be more likely for smaller wars to start easily, and any threat similar to the Yuuzhan Vong or another First Order would likely go unchecked for a long time until individual systems acknowledged them as a legitimate threat to them specifically.
Or another result: The Galaxy falls into Anarchy, eventually resulting in a bunch of different nation-states, with the galaxy’s map looking like something from Stellaris.
Eck, the answer is easy. Its Empress Rey "the Congress" Palpatine. Edit - Watching video and just realized that actually what would be awesome is if the Galaxy is in a similar bed as Gotham in the final season of Gotham, with various smaller factions acting out with only one real bastion of Liberty left. Just watching Rey and her allies trying to return the Republic in a galaxy that doesn't want them. There Disney, something to use the Sequel Continuity for.
As a fan of the Galactic Empire outside of all of Palpatines crap I like the idea of a "corrected" Empire coming back that is authoritarian but doesn't just steamroll all divergent cultures but instead works to spread the concepts of standardisation such as cross compatability of space docks and hatch connections and power system and then leaves significantly divergent cultures and species to be pockets of difference. That being said the way the new trilogy seemed to ape a lot of the style and themes of the original trilogy I don't really wanna see any more rehashing but I could see a lot of good in the galaxy reforming into a collection of different groups. Some systems make sense as staying to their own self governance but I imagine regions or sectors or provinces coming to be such as the Correlians taking control of a region of space around them and building their own fleets and policies then Areas around alien species homeworlds like Dak of the Mon Calamari might become the center of another province that might make great use of oceans on worlds in their vicinity and have space on continents for humans and other non aquatics since the Mon Calamari always seemed happy to work with others. The galaxy being split up into a variety of different smaller empires and republics and consortiums would make for a lot of possibility for new movies and games and books where a lot could happen without a worry of making canon hard to follow and I could see some stuff that was decanonized being able to be rewritten back into canon in new ways. I have always hated the Jedi because I think they are pompous idiots but a new Jedi order that builds a new Jedi temple on some outlier world and then associates with interesting species that like them could be great.
I do hope for a bunch of smaller alliances with about as much influence as the Hutts and very different philosophies and a general distrust in Jedi, former Republicans or former Imperials/First Order members because everyone is just fine with them. It would create a Universe full of different flavours, perfect for adventure stories especially for Rey if she's in fact trying to create the next Jedi Order.
3 years later and we have yet to really delve into anything close to the sequels. I hope theres some kind of kingdom interregnum where the major systems are the dominant force in the galaxy. A game of allainces would be interesting and different
I wish we'd see a Sequel Trilogy Era TV Series involving *New Republic Remnants* and Taskforces... It could revitalize and give much needed love to the Sequel trilogy's lore. And perhaps... Make people enjoy the Sequels more. The same way *Clone Wars* saved the Prequel Trilogy. Not to mention how we could see advanced T-85 X-Wings in action! And perhaps see New Republic Aircraft Carriers/Star Destroyers against the First Order Battlecruisers!
The issue is clone wars actually had stuff to work with and used legends material as well. It kept the overall arc intact. We dont see this with the sequels, there isn't alot being left. Like Rey is God teir....what bad guy can compete? I think putting the sequels into a dark time line would allow for more freedom.
I like this. "Broken Republic" or something like that. Would be cool to see another part of the war and galaxy. That said, I don't know if they'll do anything like that because it seems like Resistance was supposed to fulfill that niche.
@@BladeValant546 The thing is is that... Cosidering the Galaxy Fleet at the end of Ep 9.... I am almost *certain* 3rd Party Combatants exist against the First Order. The Ressistance can be a factor but they seem to ONLY be a Division Sized Force consisting of a few Thousand Personell and a Few Dozen X-Wings.. What about Mandalore? Corelia? Syndicates? Non-Hosnian New Republic Remnants? Or even Non-First Order Imperial Remanants? (As shown in "The Mandalorian") I sincerely DOUBT any of them would just sit by and do nothing about the First Order *invasion.* The Sequels have a painfull lack of lorebuilding but that doesnt mean Star Wars as a whole lacks the Lore to seep into the Sequels. You just need people passionate for Star Wars to do it :P
#askeck which type of deflector shielding is a more effective form of protection: a bubble-like field that’s constantly active or when the hull is struck, sensors in the armor trigger nearby generators that trigger a transient energy field localized in the area? Video suggestion/request: X-83 Twintail vs. Tie Defender (Legends)
Sensor one. Constantly active shielding costs more energy and most of the time about half of it is doing nothing. One scenario where it could be usefull is if you were being shot at from every direction, but in that case its best just to try and get away from there and hope there are no intredictors
That is why Trek is lucky, JJ did his damage in a alternative timeline. Perhaps a First Order survivor can travel back in time with a Black Hole - perhaps Hyperspacing into one, to explain why it's not a common trick. Or they can find a McGiffin device that allowed them to travel in time… it's not like mysterious McGiffins were rare in TROS… They destroy something that leads to a completely different timeline - and make a legends a reality.
The most disappointing thing about the sequels to me was them just tossing the new republic aside like that. It could have been interesting to see a burgening republic fighting against the reemergence of the empire that was the first order
I hope the new republic will return again because all I want from episode 7 to 9 was to see some cool reform republic troopers who look more cooler and good than clone troopers.Beloit is too many stupid inspiration of the empire which sucks to me I wish they could have made robots instead.because I'm not an empire fan I'm more of a separatist alliance fan with battle droids saying Roger Roger rabbit on the way.
For now, my guess would be that, once the First Order is defeated (and I really doubt it was completely destroyed after RoS), the Galaxy kinda just settles into a situation where systems and sectors are effectively all independent states with no central government beyond international peacekeeping alliances. The Galaxy would've been moving towards partition and opposition to central rule since the secession of the CIS, and the New Republic in Canon is supposed to already be a very decentralized state that controls considerably less territory than either the Old Republic or Empire. Given that the New Republic was dissolved voluntarily after Hosnian Prime was destroyed, I doubt there's any willingness or desire to reunify the Galaxy by the vast majority of systems post-First Order, so you end up in a situation where a plethora of sovereign countries coexist with each other but a unified Galactic state as a concept is tossed in the dustbin and increasingly viewed as a sort of "Galactic Rome" over time.
Anakin Skywalker That rumor turned out to be a lie. Doomcock is under fire for that lie now. Disney will never retcon the sequel trilogy because there are more stories to be told.
They won't. Heck if they do recon it. It would probably cause more chaos with the base. Sure the OG fans may be happy, but what about the New Fans or maybe even some OGs that Actually liked it. TFA got an 80% in audience ratings, TLJ at 60% and TRoS at 70%, so that fanbase does exist, just not as outspoken as the critics. Honestly we should just forget all about the sequels. History is history and we should just move forward and foucus more on better stuff like the Mandalorian
For a post ROS galaxy, my money would be on a largely decentralised system. As Eck points out, the past several powers who sought galactic control, the Republic, the Empire, New Republic and First Order, have all failed. But rather than individual systems fending for themselves, as they pretty much did under the Old Republic before the Clone Wars, I can see pocket republics and localised empires or alliances forming for mutual protection. This collection of powers would then be bound together in a Galactic Federation that binds the separate powers to a set of overarching rules, (i.e. abolition of the slave trade, contributions to galactic security), to conform to. From a narrative perspective, this opens the door to new players on the galactic scene, as well as for old ones to regain footing
In universe, there's theories that he suffers from pPosttraumatic vocal disarticulation, like Lucy-B091 did. Out of universe, he's meant to be an actually silent protagonist.
I honestly think the directors and writers of the Sequal Trilogy gave ZERO thought to how the Star Wars galaxy functions, before, during or after the films they were making. It's all up to later world-builders to clean up the mess.
To make it an American terminology (at least like the beginning of the USA), it would be the Federalists (Centrists) and Anti-Federalists (populists). And I would like to see the New Republic come back, but better built, balancing between a strong central government and allowing more autonomy with its various smaller states (worlds and sectors).
Agreed. The New Republic was extremely flawed. We all know a Republic can work, but the NR was far too decentralized to actually get anything done. It also had barely any military, even though they were supposed to be a GALACTIC scale government. They just gotta figure out how to balance the power between the senate/federal government, and the local sectors and systems.
I could see the (New) Republic regaining some level of control over core planets and remaining a force of some note. It would be cool if simultaneously some group like The Chiss Ascendancy offered to annex some other parts of what made up the New Republic to offer stability and a new style of governance for said regions. Planets/Systems that agree to be ruled by the Chiss as their central government could perhaps agree to give over macro-level control over stuff like trade laws, regulations and general defense doctrine while still electing local governors that would then represent their world to the Chiss as a colony of sorts. Meanwhile other regions could choose to simply remain independent, form collectives or confederations, or even potentially be ruled over by criminal syndicates that gain power again in the vacuum left in the wake of the latest galaxy-spanning war. I think having the Galaxy with several strong powers instead of only one major super power in control would be the most interesting direction.
JJ Abrams: what’s “world building?” Kathleen Kennedy: Don’t know, but just make sure to make the cast as diverse as possible since that is the most important thing
this is such a cool idea to think about personally I think that, like you pointed out, the galaxy is gonna be less willing to give up their sovereignty due to the multitude of centralized governments failing so miserably alongside the demilitarization point, I feel individual nations wont be willing to give up their firepower as I can imagine it was hard for many places to push back against forces like the First Order at all I think it will start shifting to separate Empires again, no "THE" Empire, but like the Old Republic, where there will just be different star systems making their own "nations" which would make a very interesting galactic dynamic with so many different factions to play with and interesting obstacles like borders and other things

They maybe they can reunite in the the galactic alliance?.

Yeah me too. I don't expect them to make anything good since Last Jedi I quited watching their crap.

Somehow.
It’s explained that the battle of Exegol inspired a galaxy wide uprising
The citezins of every first order occupied planet rebeled basically all at the same time
And so soon after losing general hux, general pryde, potentially the entire ruling council, Kylo Ren, the knights of Ren, the steadfast and their newly formed alliance with the sith eternal
That’s a lot of major losses all at once
And the First order wasn’t exactly operating on a galactic scale to begin with. They had enough resources to blockade major systems along with a few random planets while dedicating others to the fight with the resistance but that’s about it. Fear and paranoia did the rest
They couldn’t just occupy every planet in sight the way the empire did. They were already stretched thin after losing starkiller base and the supremacy (which was also its capital. It’s exactly as stupid as it sounds)
That’s why they were so excited about the sith eternal fleet. They needed to become a viable empire and fast because at the rate they were going they weren’t gonna accomplish shit.
In the end the galaxy at large called their bluff

Luke even observed in the later Legends novels, when former Admiral Daala was summarily declared chief of state by the military, that most of the leadership figures of the GFFA were ex-Imperials.
This actually happened in the new canon novels as well. A lot of senators in the New Republic were shamelessly loyal to the Empire, to the point that they actively blocked measures by the military to investigate the First Order.
i posted a poll on the star wars wiki on who would take over after TRS
A lot of people supported a canon version of the galactic federation of free alliances
Sounds boring honestly, just go full galactic triumvirate
But what made GA interest in legends was that Imperial Remnants did join that as autonomys states, ending the conflict with it and new republic diplomatically. In new canon GA would be hallow if only former NR systems would be part in GA, as then it would be all too similar to NR.
GA in new canon would be interesting if there could be FO splinter faction that did fight againts Palpatines Sith Eternal, allying itself with resistance, but still wanted act and govern itself more like FO did.
GFFA is such a stupid name though
That would be really interesting and realistic
Sequel to the sequel trilogy:
Rey has disappeared
She is hiding cos she is afraid of her own heritage and power and has stopped training students
A new threat has risen
A small band of students has been dispatched by Poe Dameron to find Rey because they need her back
Turns out it was Snoke all along - he's a clone of the clone who went Rogue
In the end one of Rey's students beats snoke after Rey is killed as well as all the other students
That student then takes the name Skywalker and the galaxy is saved once again and there exists only one jedi left who seems like they will restore the order
It's like poetry, it rhy--it REPEATS AGAIN AND AGAIN :)
So what the galaxy would need is independent systems in a decentralised confederation. Like, a Confederacy of Independent Systems or something.
Or: a Galactic Federation of Free Alliances perhaps?
#askeck do you think the Star Wars universe constantly being at war could be a result of the power struggle between the light and dark sides of the force as a reason as to why history in the galaxy seemingly repeats itself?
Well there does seem to be a pattern of Imperialist vs Republican ideals. I mean Republican as in Galactic Republic.
Old Republic Era: Sith Empire VS Jedi allied Republic.
Prequel Era: Jedi supporting Republic vs Seperatist movement secretly ruled by Rule Of Two Sith
OT Era: Rebels want to restore the Reublic vs Galactic Empire
Considering the Force exists in Every living thing (except the Yuuzhan Vong) it is possible.
Not to be that guy but it’s kind of the whole point.
It seems every time in starwars there's always conflict that intertains us.
When will there be a time where we all simultaneously what to have an Era where war is ending in starwars?
And why we've seen more and more characters trying to move beyond said conflict and the cycle of violence.
What I want to imagine is the Galaxy worlds became fed up with both the Republic and Empire imposing there will upon the Galaxy and many worlds are now seeking their own empires across the galaxy leading to a free for all and a balkanization across the galaxy.
It would make a good setup for Empire at war 2.

The ST's worldbuilding is SO broken.

I literally couldn't care less at this point.

@@striderx2048 Unfortunately
Thank you for covering this! I’ve wanted to know what happens next

Can you do a video where you kind of "design your ideal galactic government"? I think that'd be really interesting.
Just another question that'll be answered in a book bc that trilogy was not thought out at all....

I can't wait til they retcon it into oblivion! Bring Legends back.
Hopefully the sequel to the sequels will be better than the actual Sequels
@@pedrokantor3997 No. We don't want them ruining the real Star Wars.
Pedro Kantor They won’t. That rumor was fake.
In Legends, the Truce At Bakura is an interesting look at the time just after Endor.
It seems like it would just be anarchy and way worse than after the OT
I like the idea of there being several factions - the parts of the first order that wasnt involved in palpatines attack, reys jedi order, ezra and thrawn could lead something, maybe there could be a neo-enpire more loyal to the og empire and they could be "good guys", maybe a neo-seperatist faction, a new republic, crimelord space, etc
The Sequal Trilogy was so bad that me, and my friend has started to rewrite it.
Anyone with a brain can rewrite the sequel trilogy better than Disney lol
JOE HENRY ORTEGA people can rework something to be better but that’s not really a challenge. A challenge is creating something from scratch. Sure anyone can point out a couple of mistakes in one movie, but can they actually make a decent MOVIE from scratch?
@@BossKingLegoProductions yes i can
Joshua Martin Du Plessis you mean what Disney did
@Joshua Martin Du Plessis Nah I can. The framework is there for me with New Jedi Order.
I’m really hoping someone turned the power switch to “On” at some back water CIS droid factory and the the CIS returns without a Sith Lord secretly leading them to death. CIS is my favorite faction is all of SiFi!
The Second Order, led by Palpatines cloned dog
I’ve been waiting for this question for a long time
Darth Disney will become more powerful than either of them
Lol
Most likely individual systems would form individual governments, which would make it significantly more difficult for another ambitious person like Palpatine to take over. However, it would also be more likely for smaller wars to start easily, and any threat similar to the Yuuzhan Vong or another First Order would likely go unchecked for a long time until individual systems acknowledged them as a legitimate threat to them specifically.
"Don't worry about that soon-to-be-Legends timeline stuff", said Jon Favreau." Filoni is showing me how to use World Between Worlds."
Pretty sure that’s a rumor, and likely not gonna happen
Better question: did the new Republic have corruption like the old Republic? Because if so the second clone war would have happened eventually
The rise of Mandalore, and the return of Mandalorians to their home world Coruscant!
I think the original mandalorians at extinct
The true rightful rulers of the galaxy.
Hail Mandalore the Ultimate!
Makes sense, there is no movie if there is to much peace and order.
#AskEck Do you see “Star Wars” as an Allegory?
God Damnit Eck, stop making great content that keeps me up lol.
(As shown in "The Mandalorian")
I sincerely DOUBT any of them would just sit by and do nothing about the First Order *invasion.*
The Sequels have a painfull lack of lorebuilding but that doesnt mean Star Wars as a whole lacks the Lore to seep into the Sequels.
You just need people passionate for Star Wars to do it :P
@@michaelstodovski2219 hmm this is fair just the jedi is the issue but that's a good point.
#askeck which type of deflector shielding is a more effective form of protection: a bubble-like field that’s constantly active or when the hull is struck, sensors in the armor trigger nearby generators that trigger a transient energy field localized in the area?
Video suggestion/request:
X-83 Twintail vs. Tie Defender (Legends)
Sensor one. Constantly active shielding costs more energy and most of the time about half of it is doing nothing. One scenario where it could be usefull is if you were being shot at from every direction, but in that case its best just to try and get away from there and hope there are no intredictors
Nobody will rule it, the entire universe is going to be Non-canon once the timeline change happens. Thank god for that.
I was gonna say, nothing, we starting over.
That's still a rumor, though hopefully true.
That is why Trek is lucky, JJ did his damage in a alternative timeline.
Perhaps a First Order survivor can travel back in time with a Black Hole - perhaps Hyperspacing into one, to explain why it's not a common trick. Or they can find a McGiffin device that allowed them to travel in time… it's not like mysterious McGiffins were rare in TROS…
They destroy something that leads to a completely different timeline - and make a legends a reality.
vivi44 It’s fake, man. So many channels have already confirmed it as fake news.
I tried to Google this but couldn't find anything relating to it - what do you mean?
The most disappointing thing about the sequels to me was them just tossing the new republic aside like that. It could have been interesting to see a burgening republic fighting against the reemergence of the empire that was the first order
A better question is, "Will Disney ever come back to this, because the sequels are pretty much dead by now."
Whether in a Comic Book or a Novel instead of Film.
I feel like after the fall of the first order and New Republic the Galaxy might be split into regional galactic governments
No views and 5 likes already, beautiful..
Great vid Eck
No one will of Disney decides to retcon it
Anakin Skywalker That rumor turned out to be a lie.
#AskEck
Why doesn’t the Rookie talk in Halo 3 ODSTS
JJ Abrams: what’s “world building?”
Kathleen Kennedy: Don’t know, but just make sure to make the cast as diverse as possible since that is the most important thing
this is such a cool idea to think about
personally I think that, like you pointed out, the galaxy is gonna be less willing to give up their sovereignty due to the multitude of centralized governments failing so miserably
alongside the demilitarization point, I feel individual nations wont be willing to give up their firepower as I can imagine it was hard for many places to push back against forces like the First Order at all
I think it will start shifting to separate Empires again, no "THE" Empire, but like the Old Republic, where there will just be different star systems making their own "nations"
which would make a very interesting galactic dynamic with so many different factions to play with and interesting obstacles like borders and other things
