Your wheels came up fantastic considering the wheel cleaners didnt work. I've seen the air feed from the headlight it looks good and then use your foglight ducts for the brake cooling. Great to see the Cup back out.
Yep really chuffed with the outcome 😎 Just need to decide if I wan the Clio to loose its headlight, OCD problems lol! More content to come on the little 172 Cup
Great video, thanks. I have been doing track days in BMWs up until now and fancied a change. I actually bought the "One of a kind Geniune Cup" in your ebay listings in the video... So will be taking heed of your advice. It has a number of mods and has been a track car for some time, but seems a good base to start a project build.
Thanks and glad you enjoyed the video 👌 Awesome, you really can’t go wrong with these little hot hatches for the money, plenty more to come on the series as I’ll be changing the camshafts and injectors to hopefully crack the 200bhp mark 😬 I’m aiming to have the car back on track for the Cliosport.net festival at the end of August in Anglesey if you want to see it in the flesh 👍
Thanks mate, it’s been a labour of love that build 😅 yea values are climbing really fast for good ones nowadays, thankfully i purchased one when I did haha. Can’t go wrong with the MK2 Clio Sports, so much fun for the money 😎
Interesting video, I've been looking at one of these for rallying. We are rallying a cross at the mo, and it keeps breaking the short shaft. Maybe down the the gripper diff, but we can now change it in 8 minutes in eluding jacking up the car lol. Caldwell is a blast, ill have to watch your other vids for track time. We also did a trackday at caldwell in the pissing rain, needless to say I was the first person to spin off the track, although it did give me a clue as to limits on the road tyres we had on. Great vid, keep em coming, Steve🍻
@@stevemcilroy.62 I don’t think the Clio will be doing many more adventures sadly, just seem to be grabbing the keys to the M3’s more and more ☹️ Tempted to put it up for sale next year but we shall see
think the cams with the advanced timing on the inlet give around 15bhp on a standard car. having a set fitted to mine this week then its getting mapped so will be interesting to see what it makes. its also getting the 8 degree inlet tool to time them up .
If you go more aggressive than the 197/200 factory camshafts then bigger gains can be achieved, the 197/200 are not massively aggressive to achieve big numbers but good half way house for the MK2 😎 The standard inlet camshaft in the Cup has already been advanced to Group N spec and Andy at Engine Dynamics has altered the VVT switch points to suit 😎 I would be happy if it cracks the 200bhp mark
really enjoyed this video mate these are deffo the new future classics and you really dont see many of these on the road any more think its deffo a keeper along side your e46 m3 of course both great cars but so different in alot of ways 🙂

Hi mate excellente vid I also have a 172 for the track, but after any track day my clutch gets super sensitive and noisy and after a while it starts leaking valvoline from the transmission box, has this ever happened to you? if yes, what did you do and advise me?
Thanks Martin & glad you enjoyed 👍😎 Sounds like you have a fault with the clutch or a leak coming from the main seal on the engine which is potentially contaminating the clutch plates with engine oil. I’ve also seen the rocker covers leak so badly oil literally streams down the block which can make its way down to the gearbox side. I’ve got the usual oil “sweat” from the selector arm but doesn’t effect the working operation at all thankfully.
@@stoneautomotive the clutch discs are always dry, it's not engine oil that passes to the gearbox the problem with the clutches is the press that disintegrates, it's not the disc, it's not wear on them

Whats the price of insurance to use on the road stripped out with mods? i wouldn't mind keeping my corsa vxr as a track b road car and buying something else for everyday its forged and mapped so should be fun but i asume insurance would be high. Would fit a half cage ect.👍👍
With everything declared it came in at £350 last year (haven’t re-insured it currently) but when I spoke to the broker they did advise it will be the same again this year 👍 I had an issue with the harness/ airbags being removed but they moved me to another insurer on the multi-policy and shadowed my NCB so happy to report no issues
