In fact, most common diseases can be attributes to diets high in sugar and seed oils. That's why vegans all get heart disease
Most people do. I think the truth is so messed up that we naturally tend to think that that's how it happens. I was well into adulthood when I learned that cows have to be impregnated first.
I'm glad you're talking about the milk industry subsidies and the dairy checkoff program's advertising. Meat industries have government-mandated subsidies and marketing, too. The Farm Bill that allocates much of those subsidies every 5 years is currently being discussed, scheduled to be passed this month in the US. It's why many faux-milks and meats are not price competitive with animal products.
The cozy relationship between animal agriculture and governments is crazy. It has been calculated that for every dollar a consumer spends on a Big Mac, the government (in other words, all of us) has paid 2. So animal agriculture is able to sell their products at a sticker price that is 1/3 of the actual price. They don't pay a single dime for doing pretty much as much environmental/climate damage as the fossil fuel industry. They don't pay a dime for all of the healthcare costs they are responsible for (unlike products like cigarettes where 80% of the price is taxes and the money ostensibly goes towards at least mitigating the damage). It's almost unbelievable how corrupt the whole thing is and how much effort has been out into trying to keep one of the most destructive industries on Earth alive. If governments had put half as much effort into solving every last societal problem as they put into trying to keep animal agriculture afloat, we would already be living in some post-scarcity Star Trek society.
@@Hubcool367 there is great incentive to keep the masses acting like a bunch demons. Its much easier to enslave mindless creatures than rational beings. A rational being would not want to inflict harm on other beings
THIS is why I always find it absolutely laughable when meat eaters call what we do “vegan propaganda”. It couldn’t be more opposite. It’s INSANE how brainwashed the dairy and meat industry has made us.
The cows and chickens I consume die in very small amounts for me to eat. They also live healthy, comfortable, safe, normal lives. You commit bird and rodent genocide every time you harvest fields and simultaneously wipe out entire ecosystems and entire species just so you can have another field after you have raped the earth and destroyed the soil. Oh, the government gave money to support dairy and meat consumption to push lies? That's what they have been doing with your plant propaganda.
I think it’s important to note that in a lot of areas, especially in the US/UK/EU, drinking milk has declined in popularity but a lot of omnivores AND vegetarians don’t see a problem with consuming milk in other ways (cheese, butter, milk powder concealed in products like crackers, etc.) The one that I hear mentioned a lot is yogurt. “Yogurt is healthy because it’s protein!” “Greek yogurt is so good for you!” Dairy propaganda extends SO much further then just straight milk and campaigns like got milk. also thank you for emphasizing the exploitation cows and other animals go through for our consumption. Love you ed!
Adolf Hitler also had a problem with exploitation. That's why he was a vegan that genocides animals in fields for food and then genocides "capitalists" for exploiting workers. You people really are all the same.
I read a book called Fit for Life by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond. I was 21 yrs of age. They explained this about the government and milk in that book. I am 61 now and it’s great that you have done this video. People need to know what they’re eating and drinking.. However despite all the knowledge that is out now, they still choose to not become Vegan. 🤷♂️
Good, let's turn it around. Buying into the propaganda sold to you by massive corporations without questioning it or doing proper research is much more cult-like thinking than coming to the conclusion that animal products are terrible based on a mountain of evidence.
@AaronLoos I don't care how much it Sells, it doesn't affect me getting camel and goat milk with delicious cheeses. Why would I be triggered exactly? I can get any delicious animal products I choose

I was diagnosed with a dairy allergy in high school, and it was a rough transition. You don't realize just how much dairy is in your diet, until you have to avoid it entirely. Luckily the last decade has seen a surge in dairy alternatives. I realized over the years that the amount of dairy in the American diet is an oddity among most cultures. The same applies to wheat products in the US. Food allergies opened my eyes to just how strange the food industry is in this country, and how little most people think about it.
Ed. You continue to impress me with your informative and educational videos. The presentation is so well written and executed. Almond milk, oat milk, coconut milk, cashew milk, walnut milk, etc etc are so much better imo 😂. Cow milk doesn’t even taste good after you’ve had the plant based options.
Took a while to adjust as I drank a lot of cow’s milk. But recently unwittingly took a swig of coffee with cows milk…it tasted rancid. Would never have seen myself saying this but oat milk is so much better. People are very adaptable if they give themselves the chance.
Even among those with lactose tolerance, children with recurrent ear and sinus infections find that their pediatricians often recommend removing dairy from their diet, leading to notable reductions of infections.
Thought provoking video Ed. Thanks! My milk of choice is from vanilla soybeans. It works well in my coffee, which worked well with my lunch of scrambled tofu and toast. My only regret about going vegan is that I didn't do it way sooner. I was vegetarian much too long. 😎
This is why just being vegetarian for ethical reasons is kind of strange because if you care about animals then dairy would be the first thing you cut out. This industry causes more suffering than any other type of animal farming. In india they worship cows & don't eat them because they respect that cows are giving mothers ❤️
Thank you, Ed. Just a note, drinking milk didn't *cause* a mutation to occur, but it likely made it advantageous to the people who already had the mutation (because they could eat the new resource without trouble, and they could survive to have children and/or they were preferentially picked as a partner.)
My new favorite milk / dairy video (up there with Dairy is Scary). As always, another fantastic resource for the awakening to share. Much love and respect... xoxoxoxo

I’ve been vegan for nearly 6 years, and was veggie for 4 years before that. Before I went vegan, I was on medication for acne. Tried different types. Didn’t really work. Within less than a week of quitting dairy, my skin was clear and I was able to discontinue taking acne medication. Not once was I recommended to go plant-based or asked about my diet. This should be told to people as an option.
I was put on cholesterol medication it hurt my chest a lot . I quit my cholesterol medicine and dairy . Feel better. Now trying to get more fruit and vegetables in diet and trying to go plant based . I’m 37 and was on cholesterol medication that’s scary ! Been non vegan my whole life and now from that scare with the cholesterol medication I had heart chest pain so bad landed in hospital. I’m ok now but yes that was the last straw for eating meat and dairy products.
Good for you for taking your health seriously. I had high blood pressure from my teens and then picked up two autoimmune diseases despite eating a healthy omnivore diet. Since going plant based 7 years ago I am off all of my meds and my autoimmunes are in remission. I originally went plant based for my health but have stayed plant based for the animals.❤
I love my soy milk, and I am way more "manly" and "masculine" than any of my friends that drink cows milk. The science on soy is very clear, it does not cause the estrogenic effects that the dairy industry would like you to believe. Indeed, hops and beer have a much, much, much more serious effect on estrogen levels and should really be avoided if that is of concern.
It shows you how the majority of people can be manipulated and believe a lie for so long. Just because there is a consensus shared with the majority it doesn't make it true. In reality, the opposite is almost always the case and conscious people are always outnumbered.
When I was a kid the ad campaign was, "Milk, it does a body good. Pass it on." I remember thinking it was odd that the ads weren't for a specific brand, just milk in general. Just like the "Get cracking" campaign for eggs. No specific brand, just eggs.
Never liked cows milk but can anybody explain why I always pay more for plant based milk especially in a coffee shop? This is not helping poor cows because people think it's too expensive.... :/
Thank you Ed for illuminating what is truly a pathway to hell- the dairy industry!!! The abuse these poor creatures must endure for their short lives is hellish . In some ways the dairy industry is more cruel than killing for the flesh , cows are severely abused for longer periods and are killed when they decline producing . Whoever drinks milk , consume cheese or any milk product is directly responsible for this evil treatment of innocent and voiceless beings.
It honestly boils my blood that my tax dollars goes into this shitty product made for baby cows. People just allow the government to screw them over and they just sit and take it. I don't even know anymore. I truly don't. But thanks for the video Ed. You're doing wonders ✌💚
That is the last thing that pisses me off about my tax dollars. Try welfare, and food stamps. Other farmers get tax money as well like Dole and Del-Monte. They are two of the biggest produce producers in the world and they get tax payer dollars every month for lost crops. Those lost crops are mainly from weather, diseases, insects, and wildlife. So when you are eating your pineapple and cabbage just think about my tax dollars feeding your ass.
@@shawndarling1980 Subsidies to crop farms also end up subsidising animal agriculture... if the government stopped subsidising all agriculture, then farmed meat and dairy would be orders of magnitude more expensive than grains and seasonal produce. If someone wants to eat farmed meat or dairy, they should pay the cost themselves instead of expecting the government to subsidise their habit.
@@luckyomen5948 I know my brother in-law is switching from dairy to just growing crops for plant based products. I tried to explain to him that those companies that make vegan food have their own farms. Also he would be the big one. Since he is getting out of the meat and dairy game. He will immediately lose millions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies. He needs that money for payments on items, insurance and paying the workers. But since he is getting out of running is probably the largest factory dairy farm in the area. Just growing black beans, mong beans, walnuts, apples, and white rice. He will be letting 97% of his employees go. Wouldn't be able to afford to keep them without taxpayer subsidies.
I had congestion, sneezing, oily skin and digestive issues, and I had no idea that the cause of all of this was something I'd been told I needed, by an industry, doctors and government, to be healthy. Only until one GP told me to give milk a break, did all the symptoms disappear, in less than a week. It was life changing for me to think that milk was causing all of these problems. I felt so lied to and cheated by the milk industry and government. I still can't believe they get away with this.
I liked the meme that said "if you had to suck 'em yourself, you'd probably just drink oat milk" under a drawing of an udder with the long flaccid nips. 🐄 It's so weird to think I used to drink what was taken from those.
I noticed the farmers weekly had a picture of a bull naturally making a cow pregnant. How the propaganda from the farmers continues. I hope this video makes more people think
Yeah and seeing cows on lush green grass with a wide field doesn't help, because that's all you see and so you think it must be almost that way. My father thinks that at least and almost all others I know. No, I've seen about 6 different farms like those on the inside, they aren't such a great happy place everyone thinks. Sure, they can roam free a lot and that is great, but their babys are still taken away from them shortly after birth and they were still killed prematurely, after about 5 years and are overbred. Still unnecisary suffering, just not as much... :(

In fact, most common diseases can be attributes to diets high in sugar and seed oils. That's why vegans all get heart disease

TOTALLY

Extremely well articulated and presented, Ed. As usual. Thanks for all your hard work!!

You are articulate and get the message across without sounding condescending. Keep up the great work. I applaud you and I hope you continue to be a strong voice for the voiceless

This is why just being vegetarian for ethical reasons is kind of strange because if you care about animals then dairy would be the first thing you cut out. This industry causes more suffering than any other type of animal farming. In india they worship cows & don't eat them because they respect that cows are giving mothers ❤️
India does a lot of bad things to "holy cows".You should research it.there is so much abuse there these cow are suffering.
Be vegan, the cows / buffalows majorly Muslims and Christians eat comes from the one that you drink from, milk is indirect meat industry.

And let's talk about how common prostate cancer is. Biggest cancer for men. Totally linked to dairy
@@luckyomen5948 I know my brother in-law is switching from dairy to just growing crops for plant based products. I tried to explain to him that those companies that make vegan food have their own farms. Also he would be the big one. Since he is getting out of the meat and dairy game. Yeah and seeing cows on lush green grass with a wide field doesn't help, because that's all you see and so you think it must be almost that way. My father thinks that at least and almost all others I know.
