I'm currently healing and decided not to date again until I get there because it affects me in my relationship. I tend to people please and attract men who are like a daddy because I grew up without mine. Not having my dad in my life affected me so much. Its been about a month of healing. Prayer, self love, self care, gratitude, meditation and mindfulness, Positivity is helping me alot

Winnie! I was just telling a friend yesterday that I've finally decided to go to therapy and was already considering one platform recommended by a TH-camr and I come online today to see this barely 24hrs after?!
I like that you don't just put out content for content creation sake...its very obvious you're led by the Holy Spirit.
Well done Winnie and thank you!❤❤❤

I sincerely hope you find the courage and strength to deal with this on your own.
The book I shared is a great place to gain insight…I felt like I was talking to a real therapist when I was reading the book.
Then take your relationship with God to the next level. Allow him help you…
Just commit to the process, determine in your heart that you will see this through until you emerge on the other side.✨✨

This is that one video I never thought I needed, believe me when I say this is an answer to a prayer.
I just understand that past traumas are the reasons why I still struggle with so many things no matter how hard I tried and it really breaks my heart because lots of traumas I've tried to bury rather than confronting came back alive and I could link them to some of my present struggles.
I will sure get the book you recommended and I will come back with my testimony, watching this video alone is a breakthrough and it will definitely touch other lives through me.
God bless you @winnieschoolofelegance for this.

Please know that those names your mom called you is definitely not who you are… your mom was only projecting her pain on you.
Please forgive her quickly and understand that she too was probably a grown woman suffering from unhealed traumas and bcos she didn’t heal, she hurt you deeply in the process.
Don’t let the cycle continue… let it end with you. HEAL DEAR…please! Heal for yourself, so you can truly enjoy this life… and heal for the sake of your children so they won’t have to heal from having you as a mom.

Thanks for your vulnerability! Although not easy to talk about, discussing childhood traumas openly helps educate and raises public awareness.
I started dealing with mine after I became a mom and it has transformed the way I parent. In fact, parenting without being at peace with the child inside will inflict a lot of pain on our own children. Please, if you’re a parent, deal with your past and heal from it so that you can parent with love and empathy. Imagine a world where children feel loved and secure, wouldn’t that free up so much space for them to focus on creating a better future?
You are such a strong and beautiful woman, Winnie! Much love and blessings ❤

I'm just seeing this video just when I needed it, I literally cried while watching it cos I had some of the childhood traumas you mentioned, even some adult traumas as well. Yesterday, someone said I am hard, I've build strong iron walls around me & when someone tries to get in, I push them away. The person said I'm hurting those who tried to love me & be in my life cos of my past through my actions but I never knew. This is the second person saying this to me & I knew something needs to be done though I thought I was a sweet, feminine lady but I never knew I still have an unfinished business with my inner child. I will practice those exercise you mentioned, read the book & get more knowledge to break free. Thank you so much beautiful Winnie ❤😊

Everything you described in your past was me. I’m not sure I’m over my childhood traumas because I get some triggers. Once a while I get flashes of things that happened in the past and wonder how people in my past see me now. Plus I always feel that I’m not good enough even when I am good at it.

Winnie, I love you so much. Winnie, I've had my fair share of trauma.
I've worked very hard to heal though yet even recently, I've been in a state of hiding in my CAVE OF ADULAM...Working so hard to heal, trying to set boundaries.
However, talking about setting boundaries, what do you do when certain difficult & troublesome/manipulative persons who don't understand the word "boundaries" decide to take it personal & begin to incite others against you?

Thank you so much for sharing your life experience, Winnie. It's worth listening to and quite encouraging. I had similar experiences, and I will say for me, the "GOD FACTOR" made a lot of difference. I am a Christian and was introduced to Christ very early in life. The presence of Christ in my life filled every void space of not having my father around me while I was growing up. It is not because he didn't want to be with my siblings and me, but because circumstances were beyond his control. He was very sick, and my mum had to keep carrying him from one hospital to another, prayer house to another. Of course, my mum played her role as a good wife to her husband, and so my siblings and I were taken care of by my uncle. It was not a palatable experience, but like I said, knowing Christ made a lot of difference. I was introduced to the youth wings of my church, where I met a lot of daddies, mummies, brothers and sisters (Mk 10:30). So, what my parents were not there to teach me as I attended meetings and programs in the church, it was instrumental in transforming my character. I didn't have the opportunity to read the book you recommended, but one thing that helped me was I always read my Bible, which renewed my mind (Rm 12:2-3). I must commend my Sunday school teachers because they really worked on me. From them, I learned how to turn my ugly experiences into positive vibes. For example, I grew up in hunger. Sometimes I will go to school hungry and return in the afternoon, and there is still no food until dinner. That experience built my strength to love and appreciate fasting now.
I have come to realize that most times, we are products of our upbringing, and that is why we need to work on the negative part of it consciously. I want to advise that in case you are reading this comment and desire something in your family and don't have it, there are other people you can learn it from. If, for any reason, you came from a dysfunctional family, there are so many functional families you can learn a lot from. More importantly, kindly allow God to fill up the void or vacuum your parents or family created while you were growing up, and you will always want to live each day to fulfil your destiny. God bless us all. Amen
