Potting glue is a serious problem in the FL filters as demonstrated in other YT videos. I opened a 910S yesterday and discovered three-four pleats had no potting glue at all securing them to the end cap. With only 3700 miles on the filter it had not yet torn open, thankfully. But it still gave oil a small path through bypassing the media.

Quality control needs to be better on some of the better filters. Thanks for the comment.

Just got my first one! Very strong and top valve. USA made predominantly, mostly, or whatever. Stinks a bit. Not a kitchen decore for wifey tho. Better get it put on 2000 F250 super duty ASAP!!!

With Mann & Hummel purchasing other filter companies like WIX & Purolator it seens like they have lowered quality control & cheapened the filters. Sloppy glue everywhere seems to be a very common issue now and changing the springs in some of the WIX filters to that stamped piece. One I saw didn't have the silicone adbv anymore.

I agree with you Pesky Peet, Man & Hummel buying up some of our favorite oil filter companies has made me not want some of those filters now. Sadly I do not use Wix anymore since they are no better than some other cheaper filters I use. I do like using Champ Labs filters even if they have the felt tops.

2nd video I see with motorcraft black glue. Not convinced. Will go KN, WIX or Amsoil filter.

Thanks, admittedly , am PurolatorDIY Boss Filters, though my GO TO, Shop / Garage uses ALL VALVOLINE Products…&/I USE Wix….Admittedly I ran a lot of Ford **Motorcraft stuff, Oil++, esp in 1960-70s😅😢.. Interestingly, had to put a “Coolant Recovery System “, on a 1966 ++, 500/XL 4 SPD/4 BBL/352 (boo), as my FORD Garage HAD “” Exclusive, supposedly “ for a few months ((1968??): an odd thing, though quick in ALL AUTO PARTS STORES.Anyways, great parts * performance stuff usually. ……….

8.99 at my Walmart. Use to be 4.99 but any warranty vehicle better have a motorcraft filter on it. After warranty expired please yourself. Aren't these made by Purolator?

@TNitroH Yes I believe made by Purolator.
