The JBL Boombox 3 is my favorite portable Bluetooth Speaker and the best one I’ve owned. 😎 I also have a Charge 5 and it’s a perfect duo for me. If I want to chill and listen to music I pull out the charge 5 but when I’m feeling energetic and want to blast some music I pull out the BB3.
I could be wrong, but the biggest advantage of the Boombox is it sound in open air. Hearing it outside for camping or float trips is incredible. The sound delivered is clear and enjoyable. It's like comparing your factory car speakers to proper aftermarket setup. Factory sounds great while in the car, aftermarket sounds great (albeit annoying) to the neighborhood.
Even with the limitations of your mic it was noticable (listening with my SC Space A40's), that both the bass was better and highs and treble sounded significantly clearer from the Boombox compared to the 4 Charges ... so even if you add even more Charges to your PartyCast, you wont improve clarity and those lowest sub-bass notes. They are limited by physics at this point ... you can only up the loudness by adding more, but then maybe you better add another Boombox instead 😁
@@EvanLovell Yes it is. The Charge only produce a sounds in a certain spectrum (as every speaker does). The way it is built it can only produce bass until its unique low point and not any further. This doesn't change by adding more speakers because all have the same limit. To change that you would have to modify the speaker's physical design. This means, no matter how many Charges you add, they will never reach the deep subbass sounds of the Boombox, which has both a bigger membran and a differently designed resonance chamber, which enables it to produce the aforementioned low subbass sounds. The same is true for the tweeters and high notes. Both speakers are limited by their physical design to their unique sounds profil, which results from the laws of physic (acustics) itself (the propagation of sound waves) ... and the Charge is more limited in its capabilities especially regarding deep subbass sounds than the Boombox by its design. Long story short: Adding more speakers still produces the same sound as a single one would just louder ... because of physics (as written in my previous comment).
Hi bro, I'd love to suggest you to use the binaural microphone to record much better sound from your speakers into you next videos. I've seen other creators do it and they produced better evidences with it. Till then, keep it up man! 😍👍🏼
The Charge 5 is my favorite speaker ive ever had. Can't wait to buy another one to pair them. The only complaint ive had over the months of having it and using it everyday almost all day, but it does have a very directed sound. If your on the backside of the speaker like at a campfire or something, it doesnt sound as good. Thats why i want a second one to blast the other direction! Cant beat the portability, the power bank feature, and the water proof dust proof and it floats! Love this thing.
I carry 2 Xtremes on the inside of my mesh backpack and 2 charge’s in the cup holder pockets on the side of the mesh backpack. It’s great for skateboarding and I can have surround sound at the skatepark or anywhere else in about 5 seconds. Plus, I can recharge my phone or anything else while skating. I picked up a mesh backpack to allow the sound to carry through the bag and because the red speakers look nice showing throwing the black mesh. The 2 xtreme speakers are back facing while the charge speakers in the cup holders I place forward facing. I bought older refurbished models to make it all somewhat affordable.
bro you need to get on the party box train. For the same money, the party box speakers COMPLETELY POOP on the JBL boomboxes. Talking about the partybox 310, its in a different league. Space makes bass.
Wish the Boombox 3 was tuned like the Charge 5 with the deep bass. And 2 Charge 5s sound amazing in stereo so 4 of them in mono don't sound as adequate but just a more impressive, immersive sound. Still love my Boombox 3 tho. And about the Tribit Stormbox Blast your right a single 1 cant keep up with the power of the Boombox 3 but 2 of them can and its a amazing fight both have their pros and cons. As an audiophile I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that you purchase a reference microphone if you don't already have one. I think you already know that they're neutral in their frequency response. Your demonstration was good but I found based on listening on a cell phone that the Boombox 3 actually not only has the better bass but the mids were cleaner and stronger using your video camera microphone. The meds are where your vocals are at. If I were to put the money down it would be on the Boombox 3 which had no problem beating I believe the Charge 5. I am referencing these to a Sony GTK-XB7 that kicks it! When you pair a couple of the Sony's you fill a room with sound. But they run on AC power even though they're advertised as portable. I am however partial to JBL. I use full-size JBL monitor speakers in my studio and of course they're not active speakers and require a power amplifier. A completely different application of course. For my money I would go with a Boombox 3. I mean if you're going to spend the money on four of the Charge 5 you might as well get the Boombox 3.
Have a partybox 110, LOVE it, but not really portable to the beach, etc and my neighbors complain about how loud (esp bass) it is outdoors. Just grabbed the charge 5 for portability.
I have the one Xtreme 3, two Charge 5, and two Filps 6 and I enjoy the sound was going to add the Charge 5 wi-Fi; but it doesn’t connect to other speakers 🔊 😔. You should have a JBL speaker party 🎉 here in Atlanta every day we lit 🔥.

I think the speakers come out around every 2 years. You're probably safe getting the Charge 5 and having several months to enjoy it before we start talking about the Charge 6.

Hey, you have to try linking theJBL boombox 3 with 2 charge 5 Wifi to your TV for surround sound. Its amazing. Better than Sonos and less expensive plus they are portable

JBL is a beast when it's come to speaker's because jbl is known for their loudspeaker world wide they make speakers or nothing else 😁😎😎
All jbl speaker are good for partyboost, except boombox 2 and 3. This two speaker need to use standalone to feel it power.

Charge 4 has a connection plus + and Charge 5 has a party boost. So charge 4 and Charge 5 cannot connect party boost speaker.

No, if the speakers are identical, you have the option to stereo pair OR PartyBoost. If they are not identical, you can only PartyBoost.
