I can now see more of where the 500 dollar price tag comes from.. the engineering design and product. With a hint of greed in some aspects but it all makes sense. This speaker undoubtedly has its position in the speaker matrix.

I got my boombox 3 for 320$, price went down a lot in this short time, its kinda like jbl ripping off people which bought the speaker for the full 500$

JBL’s Bluetooth speakers are unmatched . Well worth the money. They own this market IMO
Tbh you not wrong i dont rlly see any speakers matching the quality control especially. Where as jbl makes basically all of their speakers come out the factory amazing condition
I have 2 WKing 50,they are TWS,JBL does not,you can pair them but no True Wireless Strero,I can play Floyd and get DIFF sound from each speaker,100 watts,50 each side,JBL/ JUNK BUT LOUD is the term from the 70's.
IT IS MATCH!! PERFECT MATCH AMPLIFER TO THE SPEAKERS!! the only missing with the amp is the large capacitors more than 2000uf, transistors NJW recommended, you can upgrade the Amplifer to improve its stock power 10x larger

Surprisingly repairable as that will go back together no problem. They used real gaskets instead of hot snot gluing everything down. Good work JBL.
It's an amazing beast. I'm surprised they didn't install a beating heart ♥ in this thing. Definitely impressed by it's design. Love JBL speakers.

Oh wow, I thought it was another overpriced speaker, but seeing the insides of it, I'm quite impressed, you did an amazing job my guy👍❤️ I'm surprised JBL made this Boombox e repairable, good job to them as well
You only get sound this good-the bass, the treble and the clarity up to max volume- with a device this well built. I got mine a couple of weeks ago and use it every day. It is my favorite “thing.” Just incredible! Just have to be careful- listening to rock with it cranked will leave you with your ears ringing!

The battey is really impressive too.
Boombox lineup has always been able to keep up with the partybox 100/110 in terms of loudness but bass was always lacking, boombox 3 still doesn’t have as much as 110 but it definitely closes the gap thanks to that massive new woofer

It's a good channel I found. Keep up the good work, complete disassemblies of the speakers are always interesting. Just for the future, when you show the motherboard, bring the DAC, ADC and amplifier chips closer or write their markings.

Been using mine for about 2 years and it's as good as it gets for waterproof capability and sound. It's Aril of '24 and I used mine on a river last year in August. My speaker ended up fully submerged at multiple points while not using it and it still performs flawlessly. Dont ever intentionally submerge a speaker no matter what the waterproof rating is though lol.
I bought mine just for... 280 pounds (UK) on sale...

I've been dying for #4 to hit the market, you just know it's going to be fantastic! Hopefully early next year. Specially I'm looking for more range in bass, louder bass, and of course a longer lasting battery.

When are you gonna do a teardown on any of Sony XV Series or XP series Partyboxes? Would like to see if they have the same MDF cabinets inside like the JBL does, or is Sony only using a full plastic cabinets, explained the poor bass outputs?? Exciting to see a Sony Partybox teardown soon....

Wow! Excellent video! How do you keep track of almost 100 screws? They are different for each part. I would have to try to screw them back into whatever I took them out of while videotaping the whole operation. Very helpful, thank you!

thanks! nicely designed by JBL but could use a more compact or squarish design in future products. I got here because I thought there isn't a subwoofer bluetooth portable yet and user pointed me to this model

Think the easier part is to tear it down, must be quite something to put it back together again, making sure you get the wires not mixed up, and assemble it without any buzzes or rattles :)
I would think ingress protection would be the hardest part.

I have one of the best has an issue with the FFC connecting the charging board and the mother board, please could you help me tell me how to fix it, when I switch it on after few seconds it goes off, but when I disconnected the FFC connecting the charging board and mother board it stopped.

You should mention the patch antenna for the BlueTooth... which I see on the main plastic housing.

Simple place to hide a air tag as a theft protector would be where in your opinon. Ideally not removing 100 screws! Cool video
Without needing to remove the 100 screws, your best bet would be inside the cover. If not, remove one side of the passive radidator and tuck it inside there.

How many hours approximately dies it take to "break in " a brand new speaker ? Is there a preferred volume for this ? Ie. 50% volume for 10 hours?

What are some of the part numbers for the drivers? Great video btw! I’m wondering if diy options could get to this quality…. It seems like the cross over circuit is on the motherboard.
from what i see, there wasnt any part number on the driver, but im sure you can find other generic drive around the same size.

Is there speakers with conventional magnets? Not neodymium?
Is that speaker powerfule? The 4 ohms driver, how much RMS wattage output of class D amp/per driver? (not speaker ratings)
What kind of amplifier it has? Tda something?

sorry i dont. best thing to do is either get the driver from third party vendor who partout the boombox 3 part, or get a driver with the same size/power

i received my brand new JBL boombox 3 yesterday and it doesn't charge, going to have to return it, was thinking of opening it and see if the AC cable might be loose or something due to a bad assembly, but I'm better just returning it i don't want to mess something on it....bummer
How many and which are the amplifier chips used by that speaker, I guess it is one exclusive for low frequency sounds and another for mids and one more for highs.

I upgraded from the Boombox 1 and the Boombox 3 Sounds much cleaner and has better Bass Response. I dont know if its better than the Boombox 2 but i would expect it is.

Personally I don't like oval/rectangular speakers since they where always used in crappy Tv's and they suck but JBL really kinda made them better.
Once you put it back together, will it retain its waterproof qualities?
it depend on how well you put it back together. Mine still work perfectly after putting it back together, even in wet condition.
It's even easier to take the PartyBox 200 and 300 series apart. No hot glue snot all over the place but real seals and quality parts.
I bought a used PB 200 two years ago and the only difference to the others (except 710 and 1000) is there is no battery pack. It can easily be modified, however. So I mounted a flip-up handle and two small wheels for convenience, the 300 and 310 have these features from the factory. I love how they make their things repairable if need should be. My over 30 years old LT 100 are still going strong...won't change them for anything else.

I have a boombox 3 that won’t turn on or do anything. I have it taken apart but can’t see any obvious reason why it’s not working. Tested the battery and it reads 7.3 volts.
Any ideas on how to fix it?
Why did you try to repair it yourself instead of sending it to JBL? It was obviously still under warranty.
